Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Teer enta, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ahmed Mekky. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Disruptive Edits in Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church article

Dear Wikipedia Admin, Kindly note, User:Kokkarani is continuously involving in biased and POV edits in this article. He is in not in agreement with the neutral references providing by other editors. Also he is not letting others to edit this page by repeated edit reverts. The discussion with him in article's talk page is no use as he changes his stands time to time. Seeking your help here. Kindly intervene.. ---117.219.248.129 (talk) 04:47, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

The matter here is whether Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church is Autocephalous or not. This has been a big controversy in Malankara Church, which was finally decided by the Supreme court of India in 1995 (Malankara Church case). Please see the talk page in Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. The Supreme court of India clearly declared that Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church is NOT autocephalous but a part/division of the Syrian Orthodox Church. However some editors wanted to project that Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church is an Autocephalous church. They are not willing to provide sufficient reasons to state that. Hence the word Autocepahalous is challenged. The Supreme court of India verdict in 1995 is legally binding to Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. This is the real fact. Whether to include Autocecepahlous is the matter of controversy here. I think Administrtor can intervene here and take a decision. Thnaks Kokkarani (talk) 05:00, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

User:Kokkarani(aka Phantom)'s biased edits in this page are not only limited to this point - "whether Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church is Autocephalous or not". Kindly go through this user's edit history, when Kokkarani recently started editing in this page
(1)This editor removed the statement that Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church(MOSC) is an Oriental Orthodox Church. Every one who understands eastern Christianity knows that MOSC is one among the Oriental Orthodox Church. Other Oriental Orthodox churches are Coptic Orthodox Church, Armenian Apostolic Church, Syrian Orthodox Church, Ethiopian Orthodox church and Eritrean Orthodox Church. This I explained in the articles talk page in detail. But [User:Kokkarani]] keep on removing the mention that MOSC is an Oriental Orthodox Church. As you can read from the Oriental Orthodoxy article and other sources available in public domain that Oriental Orthodox communion is composed of six autocephalous churches (including MOSC)
2)Then User:Kokkarani wanted to take out the statement that MOSC is also known as Indian Orthodox Church. Provided multiple reference(sites of sister churches, public media etc) but Kokkarani was not accepting these references and wanted to have references from Encyclopedia and involved in editing war. Finally I had to find a Encyclopedia reference for this known fact !!

These edits/repeated reverts should be considered as serious vandalism to a Wikipedia Article ---45.125.147.173 (talk) 08:20, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

You are all engaged in an edit war. As such, I have fully protected the article from editing for one week. Work out your content dispute on the article talk page. If needed, please seek additional assistance from the WP:India and WP:Christianity wikiprojects. LadyofShalott 12:34, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

The user 45.126.204.141 is still engaged in vandalism in Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. Please note it. Thanks Mandrake_the_Magician (talk) 04:41, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

Dear Admin, you (or any one in the world) can see the edit history and understand the fact. Kindly verify.---45.126.204.141 (talk) 04:59, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

Also please see the talk section to understand User :Kokkarani(also known as Phantom and Mandrake)'s attitude towards other editors and whole Wikipedia community. He had uploaded an Image from his collection and not ready to provide any details when other editors requested for the details!! ---45.125.146.70 (talk) 08:57, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

I request the article may be edit protected because of continuous vandalism from different IP editors.I suspect the same editor using different IP address and engaged in edit war in Marthoma Syrian church and Jacobite Syrian church. ThanksMandrake_the_Magician (talk) 14:43, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

Dear Wiki Admin, The fact is User:Kokkarani does VANDALISM in all Kerala Churches pages to prove his view is right. Of course different editors from different IPs will try to PROTECT the page. Kindly go through all edits of User:Kokkarani, you can realize the fact!! -59.95.67.40 (talk) 14:57, 30 July 2016 (UTC) While accusing other editors User:Kokkarani didn't notice that Marthoma Church is already IP protected. If he is having any such doubts I challenge for a SOCK PUPPET test. But who will do damage control for user:Kokkarani's vandalism?? -59.95.67.40 (talk) 15:07, 30 July 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for the clarification of "LGBT".

You pointed out that LGBT does not fit with the word "orientation", because T (transgender) is not a sexual orientation.

I found something related that you might be interested in...

The Category:LGBT is included in Category:Sexual orientation, but not in the Category:Gender identity.

I just thought you'd like to know.

I wonder if having LGBT in Category:Sexual orientation could cause confusion, with readers assuming the "T" in LGBT belongs in that category. The Transhumanist 07:32, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Extended confirmed protection

Hello, LadyofShalott. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.

Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.

In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:

  • Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
  • A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.

Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.

Two-Factor Authentication now available for admins

Hello,

Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. A new user right for New Page Patrollers

Hi LadyofShalott.

A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right.

It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best.

If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

Help me Aleta? Re: Bleona...

Hi Sis- I'm still sick--getting sicker again. I remember in the external links in past years a category for people who support LGBT issues and lifestyles. Usually, someone beat me to the punch on most of them. But since I was sick in that coma three years ago, and never got much better, I have to limit myself to little bitty edits. Can you figure out how to add LGBT rights activists from Albania. Is this correct for Bleona? If not, can you fix it? It's identical to one in Australia, but she appears to be the first from Albania. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 02:08, 16 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi Leah, good to hear from you! I'm sorry to see you have been ill though. I see the article says she headlined at a pride festival. Hi, LoS, and thanks for your efforts in trying to clean up this article. I'm sorry to bug you about it, but from comparing your edits to the sources, I'm afraid I rather suspect that you don't speak French?—S Marshall T/C 20:17, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

I do, although I admit to being rather rusty. However, I was looking only at the French WP article in comparison, rather than the actual cited sources. What in particular is bothering you? LadyofShalott 20:19, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
Well, for example, our article says she married Sylvain Quimène and cited this source. Does the source support the claim?

The basic issue with these content translations is that they were generated with a couple of clicks, and we can't assume that the person who generated them speaks English. In this case they didn't. Or else they didn't bother to check their translation, so now we've got a BLP which says the subject is married to the wrong bloke. (I suspect that at some point she married Travis Bürki, although I couldn't say whether she's still married to him.)

The reason for WP:CSD#X2 is because of the asymmetry of effort involved here. You've literally got to check every source in the original language to make sure that the translation script hasn't fouled up the meaning. You and I have already spent far, far more time on this than the original creator ever did and we've got an inaccurate BLP in the mainspace. Could you possibly reconsider your decision to decline the speedy? There are 3,583 articles I'm trying to check and I'd like to retire in 20 years. :) All the best—S Marshall T/C 20:48, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

Hi,

A little background: Mussolini (disambiguation) was a dab page until I realized that the only entries were people with the surname "Mussolini". That would make it a surname article/list, not a dab page. I noticed then that all the entries were from one family; everyone was related to Benito Mussolini. I moved the page to "Mussolini family" and made it into a stub. Then, because pages with "disambiguation" in the title must either be a dab page or redirect to one, I marked the original page (now a redirect) for CSD G6 as housekeeping.

You declined my request because it does target a dab page.... Mussolini family looks a lot like a dab page at the moment, but it isn't one. Dab pages are not articles, and therefore are not expected to have references. Nor are they ever stubs, no matter how short they may be. The best way to tell if a page is a disambiguation page is to look for the template at the bottom that starts This disambiguation page...

You also said it's ...a reasonable search term. In this case, Mussolini is a redirect to the article about the dictator, where there is a hatnote to Mussolini family, so anyone searching on "Mussolini" will find the rest of the family if that's what they want. I'm pretty sure no one is going to search for "Mussolini (disambiguation)". :-)

I do a lot of work on disambiguation pages; one project I've been focusing on is getting rid of redirects with "(disambiguation)" in their titles that no longer target dab pages. I always look around to see if there is any other dab they might be reasonably retargeted to but, if not, I fix any links that exist and mark them for speedy deletion. You may run across more of these in the future. For this one, though, will you reconsider your decline? Thanks. — Gorthian (talk) 04:47, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

I undid my decline. I'll leave it for someone else to delete if they really think that is the correct course of action. LadyofShalott 04:56, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

Lavonia-Carnegie Library

I don't think that this should have a hyphen or dash in it. It is the Carnegie Library in Lavonia. The NRHP form doesn't list it the way you did. The sign in the photo doesn't have it either. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 23:09, 27 April 2017 (UTC)

Then you should be able to get a book for the person who did the website about writing proper English.  :-)

DYK for The Rabbits' Wedding

On 19 May 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article The Rabbits' Wedding, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that in 1959, an Alabama state senator said a children's book about two fuzzy rabbits, The Rabbits' Wedding, was "propaganda for integration and intermarriage" and tried to get the book banned? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/The Rabbits' Wedding. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, The Rabbits' Wedding), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hi LadyofShalott, I'm trying to create a page for the Women's history portal being created, and have run into a weird permissions error message when creating the page Portal:Women's history/Current events/Wikinews:

You do not have permission to create this page, for the following reason:
The page title or edit you have tried to create has been restricted to administrators at this time. It matches an entry on the local or global blacklists, which is usually used to prevent vandalism.

Delection of two of my articles: Aderemi Adegbite and Folu Agoi

Dear LadyofShalott,

Greetings from Lagos, Nigeria.

Two of my articles have been deleted and I need your help to recover them for me, so as to improve the articles. Actually, the pages were flagged last month by Oluwa2Chainz and I started a talk with him but he never responded until now.

This article https://wiki.alquds.edu/?query=Aderemi_Adegbite was created about four years ago and to it was approved. I was surprised to see it flagged last month by Oluwa2Chainz for no reason or explanation. And the second article was written last month: https://wiki.alquds.edu/?query=Folu_Agoi

Please help retrieve both articles so as to improve them.

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, LadyofShalott. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Can you check my article?

Hello how are you? I am a new user in Wikipedia and I wrote my first article. When I registered on the site I tried to do it but I did it in the wrong place - on my user page - and you deleted it, now I was reading and I did it in my Sandbox, I would like you to be able to review it to see if it can be published. I know I can submit it as a Draft, but I saw that the number of outstanding items is very large, and theoretically the article is ready, maybe you can advise me. Thank you!--Marie Steypi (talk) 05:34, 20 December 2017 (UTC)

London, R. Watts

Can you make sense of "London, R. Watts" in this photo description on Wikipedia Commons here? Is it a name? R. Watts is a name and it was published in London? Who is R. Watts? I think it says something about R. Watts for Cadell and Davis. Thanks for any insights you can provide. I'm thinking it's a Robert Watts.. So is he the author? Thanks for any insights you can provide. I looked a coiple places but am stumped. FloridaArmy (talk) 23:29, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

It seems to me R. Watts is the printer. And he did other work for that artist. I will see if I can find anything else. FloridaArmy (talk) 23:31, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
Ah, I was going to guess that R. Watts was the photographer. I looked at the Worldcat listing, but it doesn't seem to help with that particular question. LadyofShalott 23:33, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
I found a Richard Watts (Printer, of Crown Court, Temple Bar). Going to follow up on that. A bit early for photography I think. FloridaArmy (talk) 23:34, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Wouldn't that be so obvious, like seeing a horse in a painting and adding the category 'Horses in art', that it's a "given" (but I guess on Wikipedia a given is only good in horseshoes). But more importantly, and why I came here, what a great user name! And what a cool typeface! Good to meet you if I haven't before. Randy Kryn (talk) 00:38, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi, Randy, nice to meet you! (I don't think we have interacted before.) Thanks for the kind words. In answer to your question, no, I don't think it is obvious. I am not, by comparison, questioning the books in art category, which you also added (I think). In this case, I just see a woman. Looking at a crystal ball does not automatically make her a witch. I'll admit it seems a reasonable guess, but I don't think it so solid an assumption that it can be added without commentary. LadyofShalott 00:43, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
You are absolutely right, and good catch. Waterhouse's paintings usually have a great backstory, and in this one, if she's not a witch but a visitor, then she knows the owner of the crystal ball well enough not to back-slowly-out-of-the-house/run-like-the-dickens upon seeing the random skull (or what could just be a fancy ashtray). Wikipedia is built as a playground for fair witnesses, per Heinlein. Thanks, and I hope someone eventually comes up with a cite. Randy Kryn (talk) 01:06, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
Me too (whether she be a witch or friend thereof): I'd love to know more! Cheers, LadyofShalott 01:26, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

Thanks

Greetings LadyofShalott! Do you know anything about a Wills County, Georgia? I find some mentions of it searching "Wills County, Georgia" on Google Books but nothing subatantive. Is it a misspelling? Former county? Something else? Thanks for any insight or suggestions. FloridaArmy (talk) 00:26, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

No, I don't, but I'll see if I can find anything. Where did you find initial reference to it?LadyofShalott 06:08, 12 February 2018 (UTC)

Smmurphy stated it's likely a misspelling of Wilkes County. Which kind of makes sense. FloridaArmy (talk) 14:01, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
