LU roster[edit]

I wasn't sure why you included only the current roster - my guess is that you had available a list of returning players, created before the frosh were finalized, but I trust you are happy to use the full roster. --S Philbrick(Talk) 18:21, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That's correct. I can take it off the list now. Thanks!!! The roster on lamarcardinals.com only reflected the returning players when I built the page. It was on my "todo" list to update with the full roster. Also as an fyi, I plan to build the remainder of the SLC 2014-15 team pages unless they are built before I get to them. Redirects & college softball articles[edit]

Hi, LUSportsFan! To edit redirects, just scroll to the top of the page and look where it says "Redirected from Lamar Lady Cardinals softball" and click on the "Lamar Lady Cardinals softball" text. You should then be able to edit the page, replace the redirect and add in the article text. As far as individual season articles goes please check out this before you decide to begin those (it's written for college baseball, but, as I wrote in the discussion, I think anything written there could logically be applied to college softball, as well). I hope this helps, and thanks! Ejgreen77 (talk) 22:13, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Southland basketball[edit]

You seem to be keeping the Southland basketball pages for this season up to date really well. All that I would ask is that when you update the standings template that you would change the date at the bottom. It keeps it more accurate. Thank you for your work.Bsuorangecrush (talk) 18:11, 22 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of 2015 Lamar Cardinals football team, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.bing.com/knows/2012%20lamar%20cardinals%20football%20team?mkt=zh-cn.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

The Wikipedia page has been reviewed and the tag has been removed. Comments are on the suspected offending Wikipedia page. The only thing that was duplicated is the page format since the suspected page was one of many for American football seasons...hundreds of NCAA universities with pages for each season in a more or less standardized format carrying over from year to year. Once the season starts, the pages will diverge since the actual competition results do not duplicate. LUSportsFan (talk) 15:25, 20 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Since the logo is a non-free image, we are charged to maintain minimal use of the image per our non-free content criteria, specifically #3 and #8. Typically, this means that we use the conference's logo on the main page about the conference, but do not use it to decorate articles about events in that conference. The better thing would be to use the logo for the specific tournament or event, if it exists. If not, there isn't really a need for a non-free image on every article that pertains to a particular conference. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:39, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lamar/Southeastern Louisiana football[edit]

I have deleted your post showing Lamar at Southeastern Louisiana will be on SLC TV. If you go back and read the press release, it states that the game has been moved and will be televised as part of the SLC television package. It also states that ALL SLC television package games will be announced in the near future. The SLC TV package includes Southland Conference TV Network, ESPN3, Fox College Sports, and Fox Sports Southwest (HBU Huskies). It could also add Root Sports Southwest, as Root Sports Southwest did 3 MBB games and CSN Houston did games for the conference up until last season. In fact if you look at the day that game was moved to, it likely will be on Root Sports Southwest since there is no Astros, Rockets, or Dynamo games that day. Since there are so many possible networks, and since the SLC TV Network package is typically exclusively shown on Saturday's, then you cannot post it is on SLC TV Network until the SLC TV package is fully announced. Suggestion[edit]

Hello. I have a couple of suggestions for ya in reference to the Sun Belt and Southland Conference articles. It would, in my opinion, look better if you had [Type of school] on one line, [affiliation] on the second line. Also, do we really need the type of school it is if it is already listed above in the current members section (affiliation is fine, so that could stay)? It's redundant... if you agree, than you can scratch out my first suggestion. These are just my opinions/suggestions and I am open for other suggestions, as well, if you disagree with me. 🇺🇸 Corkythehornetfan 🇺🇸 22:29, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestion. I agree that the Public/Private references are redundant since they are noted in the main table. I'll make the edits to remove from the "Academic" section tablesLUSportsFan (talk) 23:49, 19 February 2016 (UTC).[reply]

Colors[edit]

LUSportsfan, please keep WP:CONTRAST in mind when using colors in the season articles. For instance, Central Arkansas's purple and gray do not go well together... you can't even read it. A better way of incoporating the colors is replacing background:#123456; color: #654321 with {{CollegePrimaryStyle|school name|border=0|color=white}} (white assuming it's compliant). Thanks, Corkythehornetfan (ping me) 01:30, 24 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, 2018–19 Southeastern Louisiana Lions basketball team, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. The Season doesn't even start until November, it is too soon to be creating season stats pages that have no ifo that can possibly be added to them. Perhaps when pre-season news coverage begins, but right now it is WP:TOOSOONInsertcleverphrasehere (or here) 23:31, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, 2016–17 Central Arkansas Sugar Bears basketball team. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – 2016–17 Central Arkansas Bears basketball team. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at 2016–17 Central Arkansas Bears basketball team. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. JTtheOG (talk) 04:45, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Participation in a research study of Wikipedians[edit]

Hi LUSportsFan,

My name is Lara Yang, and I am a PhD student in Organizational Behavior at Stanford University. As a part of a research study to better understand work dynamics on Wikipedia, our research team is currently conducting interviews with Wikipedians. Because you are an active editor on Wikipedia, we would love to learn more about your work and hear your perspective on how Wikipedia, and open-source communities in general, function to produce and organize high-quality knowledge. We have done our best to learn about the dynamics of collaboration on Wikipedia from secondary sources, which we are hoping to complement with your invaluable first-hand insights. The interview will take around 45 minutes and be semi-structured in format. Any identifying information in your responses will be kept strictly confidential, and will not be disclosed in the analysis nor the research paper. If you are interested in participating, please email me at larayang@stanford.edu or via the Email this user tool on my user page and suggest a few time slots in the upcoming weeks that work best for you. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We look forward to hearing from you.

Best, Lara

I agree that //Category: Texas A&M-Commerce basketball// should be deleted. It's name was incomplete. A category with the correct name has been created.

Copy-Paste Merge[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:2022–23 Texas A&M–Commerce Lions men's basketball team a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into 2022–23 Texas A&M–Commerce Lions men's basketball team. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Hi Liz,
I am not seeing anything showing "Contest this speedy deletion" so I am commenting here.
I have a completed article for which I have requested submission. Once it is approved and has been published, the Texas A&M-Commerce categories will be populated. That may be awhile, though, since the request for submission noted that the process may take as long as 3 months due to backlog. The categories were created in order to reduce the possibility of red-links in the article since I knew there would be at least one article initially populating the categories in question. It looks like the "fuse is extremely short" on time from creation and populating. That's ok with me. I'll just recreate the affected categories once the article has been published.
Thanks for your help in keeping Wikipedia clean. LUSportsFan (talk) 22:09, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Page Rating Update Request[edit]

I recently made major renovations to the 2000 Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks football team page I created a few months back. It was rated as "stub class" when I created it, but I've since added the roster and short summaries for all eleven games. I'm hoping it's at least C-class. Thanks!
