License tagging for Image:P09-10thumbnail.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:P09-10thumbnail.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:06, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Museum front72dpi.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Museum front72dpi.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 07:08, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Staten Island[edit]

Hi, I just fixed the problem. FYI it happened at this edit: diff. Take care. Dr.K. (talk) 04:00, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Hannahgoldstein, just a friendly tip. You should try making all of your edits in one, rather than saving, editing again, saving, etc. It floods the history log, and it's hard to distinguish changes. Just a tip, let me know if you have any questions. --Dan LeveilleTALK 04:53, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image permission problem with Image:P09-10rgbthumbnail.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:P09-10rgbthumbnail.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Soundvisions1 (talk) 19:35, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:BellCats bookcover Von Buhler.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:BellCats bookcover Von Buhler.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 09:26, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Cat cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Cat cover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:10, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can I ask why you feel you have the right to release these images? Aer you Cynthia von Buhler? J Milburn (talk) 16:07, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was a fan of her work so I made this wiki years ago. Since then I have met her and now I am her online assistant. I have her permission to release images. However, from now on she will upload images herself under the user name cynthiavonbuhler Hannahgoldstein (talk) 07:02, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
WP guidelines prefer that Cynthia doesn't edit her own biography. But I see no reason why she can't upload images she owns, and release them. As her fan and associate you have to be VERY careful about including all POVs. Read WP:POV WP:COI and guidelines they links to. It would help if you add cited criticism inline of her and her work - WP:BLP/H has to be followed. Please share this with CVB. Lentower (talk) 07:58, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I created this wiki page before I knew the Countess. That is how I met her. I wrote her to find out some facts. Cynthia von Buhler calls all of her assistants Hannah Goldstein because that was her first assistant's name and she didn't want to change the email address. I'm not the only one! Molly Weingart was a Hannah Goldstein. Rachel Boyadis is now a Hannah Goldstein. I'm not her current Hannah right now, but I still update this once in awhile. She doesn't know how to wiki. I asked her to upload an image because mine were taken down. I will add some spicier items. I do have some dirt on her. I also have a few interesting anecdotes. I just need to find citations. I'm going to continue to clean this up and then I will make it a more interesting article. Thanks for the input. Do you know Cynthia? You call her CVB. That is what some of her friends call her. I'm taking a break for today. I wrote this wiki a long time ago and it needs a lot of updating. I'll get it in order.Hannahgoldstein (talk) 09:55, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting, but doesn't change what WP wants/needs.
You might copy this over to Hannahgoldstein. Maybe edit it.
It's poor form for more than one person to use a wikipedia account to edit. Probably WP guidelines support that.
The WP account, cynthiavonbuhler, edited the CVB page yesterday.
I've known CVB's art for a while, and meet her and Russell a few months ago. We have some mutual friends. Lentower (talk) 18:06, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please leave warning boxes until most of the work is done[edit]

Re: Cynthia von Buhler. Please leave warning boxes until most of the work is done, per WP conventions. They are not a stigma, but a warning to readers to be a bit more sceptical, and to editors to help out, if they wish. Lentower (talk) 15:25, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:St. George Theater, Staten Island, New York.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:St. George Theater, Staten Island, New York.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged.
