The result of the discussion was: Deleted the cropped file. Both versions are above the US treshold of originality. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 15:20, 22 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Note This discussion had also consensus to not include the logos in the articles on the individual elections, but at the point of my prior close they had already been removed. Adding this for clarity per the request on my talk page. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 07:57, 25 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free logos for the Green Party of England and Wales being used in various UK election articles.

"File:Green Party of England and Wales logo.svg" has a non-free use rationale for Green Party of England and Wales and it use in that particular article seem NFCC-compliant; however, the file was also being used in European Parliament election, 2019 (United Kingdom) and Manchester City Council election, 2016 until being removed per WP:NFCCE since those particular uses lacked the separate, specific non-free use rationales required by WP:NFCC#10c and it seems unlikely that one could be written per WP:NFCC#3 and WP:NFCC#8. Use of the party's logo in the infobox of the main article about the party itself seems fine, but using the logo in election articles where one of the party's members ran for office seems more decorative than contextual and is not something allowed by WP:NFCC. Suggest keep for "Green Party of England and Wales", but mention that non-free use is not acceptable in individual election articles.

"File:Green Party of England and Wales logo cropped.png" is a cropped version of above-mentioned party logo which includes the same copyrightable elements. File has a non-free use rationale for Green Party of England and Wales leadership election, 2016, but was also being used in Green Party of England and Wales leadership election, 2014, Green Party of England and Wales leadership election, 2012, Green Party of England and Wales leadership election, 2010, Green Party of England and Wales leadership election, 2008 before being removed per NFCCE. This kind of decorative use seems to be something clearly not allowed by the NFCC, so suggest delete for this file.

It might, however, be possible to create a freely licensed {{PD-simple}} version of the "Green Party" text from the primary logo file for use in these individual election articles since the text would at least be {{PD-USonly}} if it was still considered to be above the UK's TOO and thus not suitable for Commons. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:34, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Per nom, keep original logo but it is not appropriate to use in individual election articles. Stifle (talk) 09:19, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Image does not add to understanding of subject and is not supported by critical commentary. Parent article is about a fictional race but their space fleet displayed in the image is barely mentioned and does not require an image based on the text. The image is questionable in it's suitability due to it's composition, a problem made worse when viewed at article size - even on a large screen device. Removal of the image would not be detrimental to the article (WP:NFCCP#8) SephyTheThird (talk) 18:33, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contextual significance could be argued. The language is briefly discussed but the article makes no critical commentary of it. The fair use rationale however is troublesome, it's been filed as an illustration of a character, when it is clearly not (characters of a language are clearly not the same). However the image appears to have been copied from a third party fan site, and you can even see a line across the image caused by a poor merging of what was two images [1]. The rationale does not disclose a source so although it is possibly from another source, the uploader hasn't provided it. I can't see how this could be legitimate fair use.
