Cleanup of visible material is no longer urgent, if ever it was (which seems unlikely of so short a stub).

My revision and expansion this year do leave numerous invisible comments whose genuine cleanup must amount to great improvement. (I haven't read the novels, only their tracks in the bibliographic databases and in one set of short reviews. I feel sure that the comments point where knowledgeable editors should go, so to speak.)

Gwyn's age[edit]

We say that Gwyn received the gifts from grandmother Griffiths on his ninth birthday. I have retained that although Kirkus says tenth birthday in review of The Snow Spider in its first U.S. edition.[ref name=kirkus1]

If both are correct, this must be a difference between editions. I don't know why the U.S. edition would make Gwyn one year older. (Such things do happen. Consider the instance of Will Stanton in The Dark is Rising (Talk:The Dark Is Rising Sequence#Will's Age). But why here?) --P64 (talk) 02:33, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If I understand correctly, Nimmo at ENCYCLOPEDIA OF WORLD BIOGRAPHY says the featured birthday is Gwyn's 10th and has him "turning 14" early in Chestnut Soldier.

In the 1988–1991 TV mini-series by Julia Jones and HTV, the featured birthday is Gwyn's 9th and he is turning 13 early in the third book. Source: Little Gem images of the VHS movie cover #1 and the TV tie-in reissue book cover #3
