Would someone be so kind as to find references for trivia section.Nmpenguin 21:39, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That info was taken from the IMDB website. Carioca 00:40, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article rewritten[edit]

I rewrote this article, leaving much of the original text the same, but organizing it into sections. Plus, I added a filmography and awards summary. -FateSmiled&DestinyLaughed 23:38, 3 August 2006 (UTC) she is awesome!!! :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.144.32.113 (talk) 00:00, 5 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've never used a Talk Page before, so forgive me if I am putting this in the wrong place..I was just wondering if anyone else thinks maybe the word "film" is unnecessary after "drama" or "thriller" in the Career section. In other media (e.g. magazines), "thriller" serves as the noun and "film" is implied. Glorialafolle (talk) 17:15, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sexual misconduct material[edit]

Sock regarding this, I'm thinking that the section should be a section containing the Ben Affleck and Mark Schwahn stuff. As it is now, it neglects that Burton recently spoke out against Schwahn as well, and that may lead to an editor creating another sexual misconduct section to cover Schwahn. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 01:23, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Also, since Burton and her partner (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) apparently don't want to "make a big deal of it," I'm not sure that we should include as much material as you included. I don't think it needs its own section either. It and the Schwahn stuff can be regulated to one paragraph without a subheading. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 01:57, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

As seen here and here, I went ahead and made my suggested changes. At the Ben Affleck article, Artoasis had trimmed the material there a little after I made my above comments about the topic. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 21:07, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The material about Burton being sexually harassed and assaulted on camera is about her career and public life, as is the info about her magazine appearances on hottest celebrities lists, so I moved that out of the Personal life section and up to the Career section. Kimbia-kimbia (talk) Kimbia-kimbia (talk) 17:12, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Like I stated with this edit, the alleged sexual assault is more "personal life" than "career." But it fits fine where you moved it. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 18:28, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Same goes for the aforementioned Mark Schwahn stuff. Both aspects, as many sexual assault or sexual harassment stories did, came out during the Harvey Weinstein scandal. Sexual assault and sexual harassment material usually go in the Personal life section of Wikipedia articles, but I can live with where you placed these pieces. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 18:35, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for providing the context for current Wikipedia style. It is that very convention which is problematic. I ask you to think about this: should the story of a working actor being assaulted on air or in the course of doing her work go alongside Personal life items like significant other, children, where she resides IRL, etc.? Further, is it a career resume item that an actor is publicly deemed to be hot (and viewable on a particular TV show) by a national magazine, something that was probably pushed for by her or the studio's publicists, or is something that happened in her personal life? What if an actor's firing was revealed to have been due to a hostile working environment of sexual harassment? Would you state that she was fired in the Career section, then write about the sexual harassment in the Personal life section? I'm sure you see what I'm getting at here.
Now, if it was to come out that Hilarie Burton was being stalked by a fan IRL (hypothetical example!), you'd have more of a case for putting that in the Personal life section. But when she reveals she was harassed in her workplace by a boss, that's part of the context of her career and public life.
Please consider that we, the Wiki editors, can easily explain a change to this convention, that this is an improvement that could make Wiki actor biographies more readable and comprehensible. Thank you. Kimbia-kimbia (talk) Kimbia-kimbia (talk) 04:55, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
With regard to the sexual assault and sexual harassment material, there is nothing problematic about the setup the article had before your edits. But in a case like this one, I can see why the material fits much better where you added it. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 03:40, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Life[edit]

Hi everyone, I am new to editing here! I would like to add to the topic of Hilarie Burton Morgan's personal life that even though the show One Tree Hill was filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina, Hilarie has family there as well. Through out the years she has been a advocate for the Wilmington community and the most recent example of that is her work in promoting and raising money for the film Wilmington on Fire. This only one of multiple examples of Hilarie's advocacy. Taylordrake102 (talk) 18:05, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
