Mutsuhito & Meiji
I am not extremely happy of creation of the separate article Mutsuhito. IMO no big need to say that a name can be a Japanese male first name. Policy that comes into mind: Wikipedia is not a dictionary. (nor an almanach). The info thus written on the page is unencyclopedic, IMO. :I agree. What really irritates me, though, is that this page was created as a disambiguation page. Disambiguation pages are created in Wikipedia to "resolve ambiguity--meaning the conflicts that occur when articles about two or more topics have the same natural title." While I don't really mind such name/disambiguation pages as Aiko, where there are at least two notable people with the name Aiko, this disambiguation page is useless because there is zero amiguity existing. That is, there's no other notable Mutsuhito in existence in the world. This disambiguation page should really be a redirect to Meiji Emperor. Even if someone of minor importance named Mutsuhito makes his way into Wikipedia, this redirect should remain as most people searching for "Mutsuhito" would be searching for the Japanese Emperor; a separate page specifically for disambiguation should then be created (e.g. Mutsuhito (disambiguation)). ::I don't think it was created that way. I just checked the history and this page started as a redirect, then Emperor Meiji's article was moved here, then it was moved out and changed back to a redirect and then Gryffindor changed it to a disamibuation page. In any event, I also agree that it should not be a disambiguation page. I think doing so breaks all kinds of Wiki conventions and I agree there is no chance of confusion with anyone else. I think you were right to change it back. -Jefu 08:50, August 17, 2005 (UTC)

:::I looked through the page history and see what you mean. Thanks for the reply and clarification. :) 青い(Aoi) 09:03, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
