Hello Bgpicker. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Tim Beamer, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Hello, I am not being paid or compensated in any way for my work on this site. Tim Beamer is a friend who overcame tremendous adversity to accomplish what he has. He is not a client. I am simply putting on the record the documented facts of his career because I think they are significant, not just in football but in the history of race relations. That is my sole motivation. I fully support your policy and honestly believe that I am complying with it. I had followed Mr. Beamer's career when I was young, living in his home town, but did not know him personally until I decided to look him up a few years ago and could find nothing except incomplete, inaccurate information on Wikipedia's stub. Please take a look at the old stub and compare the quality of that entry to mine. Because his situation typifies the fate of many African American athletes of his generation, athletes who were exploited then forgotten, I felt honor-bound to correct the record. I spent two years digging into the published record, including news articles, archival videos, and records requested from universities. Then i interviewed Mr. Beamer, his former teammates, a former coach, and reporters who covered him. As I talked with Mr. Beamer to confirm what I'd found about him, we became friends. But that happened after the fact of my research. My motives remain as they were when I began: set the record straight with documented facts. I will gain no financial advantage from this entry and neither will Mr. Beamer. I am not his client. For decades now, no one has bothered to correct the record, on Wikipedia or elsewhere.
