October 2023[edit]

Hello, I'm Bagumba. Your recent edit to the page James Harden appears to have added premature information about a reported sports transaction, so it has been removed for now. The transaction is based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. If you believe the transaction has been completed, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 14:23, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your response to an edit request on Talk:David Beckham[edit]

Hello! Thank you for your interest in responding to edit requests, it isn't the most glamorous or fulfilling maintenance queue on Wikipedia and it can always use more eyes. However, I have some concerns with how you answered one in particular.

I would firstly advise against instructing IP editors to create Wikipedia accounts. It isn't required, and it may discourage such persons from contributing constructively in the future. In terms of contacting you on your talk page, generally, any questions about your decision should stay on the article's talk page. That way watchers of the page can read the discussion and participate if they wish.

Finally, requestors do not traditionally need to explicitly state how a requested edit "improves the page" as that tends to be implied based on the edit requested. If it's to remove material, it's usually because they are arguing it's unsuitable in some fashion. If it's to add material, then expanding an article is generally seen as a positive inherently, unless the addition conflicts with some content policy.

Moving forward, also make sure to set the answered=no parameter in the edit request template to answered=yes when you review them. That way they get removed from the queue located at User:AnomieBOT/SPERTable. A fantastic tool for this is the Edit Request Tool script by Terasail. Please see Wikipedia:Edit requests for more information on how they should be made and reviewed. Cheers! —Sirdog (talk) 01:19, 5 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Sirdog, thanks for your suggestions. I couldn't work out how to reset the answered=no parameter, but now I have added the Edit Request Tool to my common.js page. Once again, thanks! Awhellnawr123214 (talk) 03:57, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@sirdog Sorry, forgot to mention you in my response. Awhellnawr123214 (talk) 06:51, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Arjayay. I noticed that you recently removed content from Hazaribagh without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - Arjayay (talk) 11:02, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Hazaribagh, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 11:02, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
