Supposed use in literature[edit]
I can't read the referenced article because of a paywall, but can we confirm that he really uses the word "backwardism"? There seems to be no other use of "backwardism" with this meaning anywhere else. So hardly worth a mention if it's just one author's nonce word (or not even used by him).
