Artms (/ˈɑɹtəmɪs/; Korean: 아르테미스; RR: Areutemiseu; MR: Arŭt'emisŭ; stylized in all caps) is a South Korean project girl group formed by Modhaus.[1] The fans can participate and communicate with the members' by deciding the content through NFT photo cards called 'Objekts'.[2] The group consists of five members: Heejin, Haseul, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry.[1]

Their official debut is scheduled for May 31, 2024, with their full-length album Dall.[3]

Name

The name Artms originates from the Ancient Greek goddess Artemis, as her planet comes from the Moon. The name references their past group Loona, which Loona referenced the word moon in Spanish.

Career

2016–2022: Intro to the members, and their departure from Blockberry Creative

On October 4, 2016, the first member of Artms, Heejin, was officially revealed being the first member of Loona, with "Vivid" serving as the title track in her single Heejin.[4] On December 14, 2016, the second member of Artms,[a] Haseul was officially revealed being the third member of Loona, with "Let Me In" serving as the title track in her single Haseul.[5] On May 22, 2017, the third member of Artms, Kim Lip, was officially revealed being the sixth member of Loona, with "Eclipse" serving as the title track in her single Kim Lip.[6] On June 25, 2017, the fourth member of Artms, Jinsoul, was officially revealed being the seventh member of Loona, with "Singing In the Rain" serving as the title track in her single Jinsoul.[7] On July 27, 2016, the fifth member of Artms, Choerry, was officially revealed being the eighth member of Loona, with "Love Cherry Motion" serving as the title track in her single Choerry.[8]

In November 2022, nine members of Loona, including the quintet, applied for a provisional injunction to suspend their exclusive contracts due to Chuu's removal from the group.[9]

2023–present: Signing with Modhaus, Odd Eye Circle’s re-debut, and other solo activities

On January 13, 2023, the members' exclusive contracts were successfully terminated from Blockberry Creative.[10]
