Draft:Feathertail - Warriors

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Feathertail is a fictional character in the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. Warriors is a series about feral cats who live in groups called Clans.

Feathertail was born in Forest of Secrets, the third book in the first arc. She is the daughter of Graystripe of ThunderClan and Silverstream of RiverClan,[1] and she has a brother, Stormfur. Silverstream died giving birth to her kits, leaving Graystripe to raise them alone. Graystripe briefly took them to his home Clan, ThunderClan, before eventually deciding to join RiverClan with them. He later left RiverClan, but his kits chose to stay.

Feathertail was hated for having parents from two separate Clans, making her half-Clan. When Tigerstar, leader of ShadowClan, took over RiverClan, Tigerstar ordered his strongest warrior, Blackfoot, to kill her and her brother. RiverClan's leader Leopardstar,[2] as well as the other RiverClan warriors, were too afraid to stand up for them. Stonefur, an older half-Clan cat saved her, giving his life in the process. Feathertail was traumatized by this, and became withdrawn from her Clanmates, as she felt they had betrayed her by not helping her.

Eventually, a cat named Sasha joined RiverClan, and Feathertail became great friends with her. She promised to keep Sasha’s kits safe. Sasha later told her that Tigerstar was the father of her kits, Hawkfrost and Mothwing, and Feathertail never trusted Sasha again.[3] Her trust issues worsened, and Sasha eventually left the Clan, though her kits chose to stay. Feathertail continued to watch over them, despite the knowledge of who their father was.

Hawkpaw was chosen to go on a patrol to chase a fox out of RiverClan's territory, and Feathertail accompanied him, intending to ensure he stayed safe. Stormfur went with them as well. Leopardstar nearly gave up her life to save Feathertail from the fox, and on the way back to their home, Leopardstar apologized for not standing up for Feathertail and Stormfur. Feathertail forgave her, and her trust issues began to fade away. She became a better warrior, and was more loyal to RiverClan.

In Midnight, the spirits of ancient warriors sent Feathertail a prophecy that insisted she journey with cats from several other Clans to find a new home for them, because the Forest they currently lived in was being destroyed by humans. Feathertail did as the ancient warriors asked, and in doing so, she met Crowpaw, a young WindClan cat who developed feelings for her. On their journey, the cats met a group of cats living in a mountain range. This group of cats called themselves the Tribe of Rushing Water, and they were in danger because a mountain lion named Sharptooth was preying on them. In Moonrise, Feathertail sacrificed her own life to kill Sharptooth, and in doing so, chose to stay in the Tribe's afterlife, rather than the Clans' afterlife.[4]
