The Berean Standard Bible (BSB), formerly called the Berean Study Bible,[1] is a public domain (CC0)[2] English translation of the Bible first published in 2016.[3] It was produced in cooperation with Bible Hub, Discovery Bible, OpenBible.com, and the Berean Bible Translation Committee.[4]

Translation Tiers[edit]
The BSB is part of a larger Berean Bible project of four translation tiers:[6]
- An interlinear Bible to directly follow the Greek and Hebrew texts. (Berean Interlinear Bible)
- A literal translation to take the reader to the core of the Greek and Hebrew meanings. (Berean Literal Bible)
- A modern English translation, effective for public reading, memorization, and evangelism. (Berean Standard Bible)
- An emphasized translation to bring out the full meaning and intensity of the original texts. (Berean Annotated Bible)
Majority Standard Bible[edit]
Part of the same project, The Majority Standard Bible (MSB) is a version of the BSB whose New Testament is conformed to the Robinson-Pierpont majority text.[7] It was dedicated to the public domain with the BSB in April, 2023.[7]
Editions[edit]
The project and first print edition used the title Berean Study Bible,[8] in spite of the absence of study aids typical of other products marketed as "study bibles". By the second edition, the project was renamed Berean Standard Bible.
