August Gilde is an English folk musician and singer-songwriter. Born and raised in West Yorkshire, Gilde came to prominence with the release of his 2020 debut studio album 'A Different Kind', which was recorded, produced and mixed by John Wood, John is best known for his work with Fairport Convention, John Martyn, Cat Stevens, Sandy Denny, Nick Drake, the Incredible String Band, Pink Floyd, Nico and Squeeze. Gilde's 2023 single 'Animals' was produced by Tali Trow and features Britains Got Talent and Americas Got Talent golden buzzer act kseniya Simonova who created the accompanying sand animation music video[1]. Gilde's second album is due for release early 2024.

Gilde' music has appeared on National Radio stations such as RNZ Nashville Babylon[2]
Greg Jones of Ear To The Ground magazine said 'Gilde’s expressive folk sound feels like it could have been minted in the midst of 60s Greenwich Village. Even the use of metaphor and fairytale feels like it’s perfectly expressed here' [3]
