Reason: Excellent portrait of the diplomat Charles Gravier and a good example of French orientalist art and turquerie. Gravier played an important role in Franco-Ottoman relations, both as ambassador and later as French Minister for Foreign Affairs. He commissioned the work from Antoine de Favray while in Constantinople.

Support - it seems that perhaps the highest EV is in Charles Gravier, comte de Vergennes, not Antoine de Favray (where it is in a gallery)... Just thinking out loud.--Godot13 (talk) 05:54, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
