Drafting a standalone article on FF10's Seymour[edit]

Hello,

I've been busy working at Draft:Seymour Guado and thought I'd notify the relevant WikiProject in case anyone is interested in contributing.

Most of the writing has been done, I've mostly been focusing on sourcing and expanding the Reception section to establish notability, but I'll need to source the other sections and subsections before it'll be ready for mainspace. I'm trying to structure it similar to other character articles, in particular based off of the articles for other FF antagonists and other X characters. Any help getting it up to shape would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

 Vanilla  Wizard 💙 16:13, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

After nearly 3 years of on-and-off work (just under 1 in sandbox and just under 2 in draftspace) I think it's finally in a state where it's roughly on par with comparable articles and should be ready for mainspace. Please let me know if anyone has any feedback on this draft.  Vanilla  Wizard 💙 19:25, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Vanilla Wizard: Seems a little thin in parts. I'd suggest bringing this to a new WikiProject group dedicated to character articles. They are Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/Video game characters. --ProtoDrake (talk) 23:05, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for making me aware of Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/Video game characters. I have since reached out to them and am hopeful that they will be able to offer constructive criticism or otherwise help to improve the draft. Your point about the page having some thin parts to it is noted; the thin subsections within "Sequels and spinoffs" could perhaps be consolidated into a single section without dividers. There is also some potential room for growth in that section as the character has appeared in other media not currently mentioned in the draft article. I would also like to expand upon the "Creation and development" section, but English-language sources about this are hard to come by and there is a language-barrier preventing me from discovering any Japanese-language sources that may be out there. I'll definitely be doing some work on the aforementioned "Sequels and spinoffs" section in the near future.  Vanilla  Wizard 💙 23:40, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Noctis Lucis Caelum[edit]

I have been expanding Noctis Lucis Caelum based on other user comments from Cloud Strife. I'm not sure what is the desired pic since some FF article use the CGI over the original artist's sketches but I felt the Nomura artwork was important because of the primary weapon. I also asked for a copyedit after expanding the reception in case somebody wants to nominate it again. Feel free to add anything or correct something. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 22:23, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: I've done some work. By the way, where did you get the Nomura artwork for the infobox? The image infobox/rationale hasn't been updated, so it still reflects the New Empire CG render. --ProtoDrake (talk) 13:27, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@ProtoDrake: The organization of reception goes like:

  • Brotherhood
  • XV game and the novel
  • Tekken 7

That's at least what I thought when writing it. I'm not sure if some parts should be trimmed in a similar fashion video game reception sections. I have no idea if the Pop Team Epic parody is suitable there.Tintor2 (talk) 18:14, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Noctis was copyedited. Still, I won't try to bring to GA.Tintor2 (talk) 15:37, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ardyn Izunia[edit]

Today I created Ardyn Izunia based on the response the character had. Originally, I planned for a Lunafreya article but after a discussion with another user, I went for Ardyn. However, since I didn't want to mess up the appearances section, I kept it nearly intact from the character from the list and I don't know if the DLC background stuff should be separated furthermore from the XV vanilla. Feel free to add or modify anything you find.Tintor2 (talk) 02:51, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sora (Kingdom Hearts)[edit]

I found commentary about each of Nomura's designs the character Sora (Kingdom Hearts) tends to wear through every installment added it to the article. You think now the Smash compilation of Sora's looks now fits the non-free criteria of being added to the article?Tintor2 (talk) 14:10, 24 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Merger discussion on Eyes on Me (Faye Wong song)[edit]

I started the merger discussion, located at Talk:Music of Final Fantasy VIII#Redirect Eyes on Me (Faye Wong song)? (2022). --George Ho (talk) 20:07, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Xehanort[edit]

After finding commentary about his most recent appearances in Kingdom Hearts, I managed to create Xehanort. I found info about his two late English actors but I couldn't anything about Billy Zane, Epcar or Xemnas' actors. Feel free to add or revise anything.Tintor2 (talk) 20:31, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@PresN: One of the main actors of Xehanort gave a fully detailed in interview in none other than reddit Can this type of source be used?Tintor2 (talk) 19:50, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: Yeah, that's fine- you're not citing Reddit, you're citing Ben Diskin, who is posting on Reddit. Can't be used to support notability, but it's a self-published source so as long as it's provably him (and it appears to be) then it's fine. --PresN 20:11, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So, primary comments from content creators published on otherwise unreliable, but not deprecated, sources can be exempted under the self-published exception? Haleth (talk) 02:41, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I guess it's like twitter accounts where there are times famous people like Yozora's actor post their impressions about their works.Tintor2 (talk) 12:07, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly. Videos self-posted on youtube, tweets, reddit AMAs, posts on their own blog - all functionally equivalent SPSs if you can prove it's them. Remember that anyone can set up a twitter handle or username on reddit, so you can't just take them at their word. It's always going to be a little fuzzy there, but in this case Diskin verified himself using his facebook account, so we'll ignore the outside chance that someone hijacked his entire online life just to post an AMA and he never complained. Also important to remember is that as SPSs you can't build an article on just them, you need 3rd party sources, but that's not an issue here. --PresN 13:40, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I've just created an article for the FFXV character Lunafreya Nox Fleuret. There was an article created for her before the game's release which was swiftly deleted, and I wasn't thinking of creating one now, but due to finding a lot of information surrounding her creation and portrayal in addition to at least some commentary on her reception (and seeing other GA-status FF character articles with less content), I decided to create her own article. I'm planning on taking the article to GA in the near future, but want other opinions as to whether it passes notability. If it doesn't I'll happily merge it back into the main character article. --ProtoDrake (talk) 16:54, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I don't see any issues with this article, there is enough content to warrant splitting into a separate article without leaving the parent article overly deficient in depth of content. I have no comments on whether the article in its current state is a viable GAN, but GA criteria has no relation on whether it meets the presumption for a standalone article outlined by WP:GNG. Haleth (talk) 02:39, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Don't know why we're getting a flurry of character articles in the past year or so, but as always your work is solid. --PresN 13:43, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • @PresN:, not sure myself. Lunafreya emerged by accident. Out of the other four character articles, I'm not seeing Ignis or Prompto surviving long term. and Ardyn and Noctis's articles both need serious work with grammar and sources (seems like the creators are copy-pasting a chunk of work from the FF Wiki articles in the case of Ardyn, Ignis and Prompto). I also decided to merge Cindy back into the XV character article because it was so...not an article. --ProtoDrake (talk) 13:57, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Talking about XV there are two nearly identical images of Versus Noctis in both Noctis Lucis Caelum and the development of the game. Should one be removed and replace the other one? It's the Versus design by Nomura doing the special move in the 2006 trailer but I don't know if Nomura ever made heavy commentary enough to keep it. On the other hand, the design was reused as DLC for Dissidia NT so I don't know if it is more notable then.Tintor2 (talk) 13:53, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Tintor2: Yes. The trailer image for the Dev one was one I used to demonstrate a point about pieces that were kept in the final game. It also shows an early design that was reused in a later piece of media. It was used in the Noctis article originally, then got taken out and replaced with that rough sketch, then the current odd cropped one. I'd used the one in the Dev article, as it's good-enough quality. --ProtoDrake (talk) 13:57, 4 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Since this article is niche but falls under the purview of this project, I'm bringing this here. I recently created an article for the 2005 multimedia project Code Age, in addition to expanding the article for Code Age Brawls and doing some TLC work for Code Age Commanders (all info possible for Code Age Archives is already in the series article). This kinda happened by accident, and I got interested. Is there anything more that could be done to bring Code Age and Brawls to possible GAN quality? I think it qualifies for notability as it's got extensive sourcing and news coverage. Tagging PresN and Judgesurreal777 since they seemed to be involved with Code Age before I got interested. --ProtoDrake (talk) 15:33, 1 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@ProtoDrake: I only edited them as part of the old project to get all of our stubs boosted; history is telling me that I just grabbed a handful of sources and strung together a couple sections so that Brawls wasn't a 2-sentence article, but I don't recall anything besides. Looks like you got that pretty fleshed out, it mostly needs more reception if any exists (given that reviews for Japanese mobile phone games aren't easy to find). Basically the same for the series article too, it mostly needs reception. Interesting, though, didn't realize that was another of SE's "polymorphic content" campaigns. --PresN 15:33, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to get Final Fantasy IV into a good topic. One of the articles I'm having a hard time with is Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to help me, specifically with the release dates. Those are kicking my butt.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 21:10, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Blue Pumpkin Pie: I'll go on a source hunt for you tomorrow. --ProtoDrake (talk) 21:57, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Blue Pumpkin Pie: By the way, I remember a user archiving references to possible character articles and Cecil had the most. I remember creating the character list some years ago but could find little to nothing about their creation.00:55, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Tintor2 (talk)[reply]
@Tintor2, I think you are referring to this. Haleth (talk) 01:09, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

User script to detect unreliable sources[edit]

I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like

  • John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.)

and turns it into something like

It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.

The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.

Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.

SE sells off Tomb Raider, etc. to Embracer Group[edit]

You just got Embraced(tm). Guess that moots the perennial question of whether to dramatically rescope the project to include Eidos games. I'd become increasingly on-board with the idea over the years but lacked the editing time to even contribute if it passed. Oh well. For the time being, I don't think we need to make any changes. First of all, the deal could still fall through for any number of reasons. More importantly, most of the relevant pages that are actually tagged with WPSE's banner should continue to keep it regardless of the deal (e.g. Square Enix Montreal). Axem Titanium (talk) 03:27, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would be in favor of keeping articles on subjects formerly owned by/associated with/etc SE part of WPSE's scope given their history with SE (if the FF IP hypothetically were sold, I don't think anyone would agree with removing all of FF from the project... but I do understand that this is a collaborative passion project based on what articles people are interested in and that we do not need to be consistent with inclusion unless someone is passionate enough about a topic to do the work on it).--AlexandraIDV 09:30, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's the thing, we never actually added any of the existing Eidos IPs to the project- no Tomb Raider, Hitman, Deus Ex, etc., and the subsidiaries that are being sold off were never really used to make new IPs either, and the few they made (like Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy) we didn't add. So, there's nothing to remove or not- all we have is Square Enix Montreal, basically, and I agree that we shouldn't remove it. --PresN 12:30, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes exactly. A small handful of articles were naturally added to the project (Square Enix Europe also comes to mind) but the rest were marked out of scope on a contingent basis and now the question is moot. Of note, however, is that Life Is Strange, Outriders, and Just Cause are staying with SE.[1] I'm not suggesting we have a debate over these right now but just making a note of it. Axem Titanium (talk) 17:52, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's because none of the three are developed by SE-owned studios, SE is just the publisher (Dontnod Entertainment, People Can Fly, and Avalanche Studios Group, respectively), and we've always excluded 3rd-party games published by SE. --PresN 18:59, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Older featured article in need of review[edit]

As part of WP:URFA/2020, there's been some improvements made to Chrono Cross, and older featured article promotion. Would someone familiar with the subject be willing to look it over and see if it is satisfactory against the featured article criteria? Hog Farm Talk 18:50, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Translations to prioritize[edit]

@PresN:, @ProtoDrake:

Shmuplations is something I am a small financial contributor to, and they are asking for people to vote on which translations should be prioritized. Now I would pick them out myself, but I'm busy and there are 1,100 of them! The list is not private | so here it is, if anyone wants to see what interviews and features should be prioritized please post in this space which ones and I'll put a comment. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 23:11, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In relation to this WikiProject, the SaGa series would be useful to have stuff on. Outside anything specifically Square/SQEX related, the interviews for Panser Dragoon Zwei and/or Orta would be useful. --ProtoDrake (talk) 08:24, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

GA reassessment on Tifa Lockhart[edit]

Tifa Lockhart has been nominated for a community good article reassessment. If you are interested in the discussion, please participate by adding your comments to the reassessment page. If concerns are not addressed during the review period, the good article status may be removed from the article. (Oinkers42) (talk) 12:31, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've been trying to clean up the reception section which is the one with most of the issues. If anybody else could join, I'll appreciate it.Tintor2 (talk) 21:18, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Toning down articles[edit]

After the GA review of Tifa, I tried also toning down Squall Leonhart and Tidus's reception section while expanding a bit their creation to be safe from a possible reassessment. Feel free to edit to find any other issues. I'm pretty sure Sephiroth and Aerith might need one too.Tintor2 (talk) 00:53, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: Probably, especially Sephiroth, but thanks for cleaning up Squall and Tidus! --PresN 03:06, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Two Kingdom Hearts articles[edit]

Last year I created [[Riku (Kingdom Hearts)]] and [[Xehanort]] from the Kingdom Hearts series. While a user noted it had to be copyedited, he removed several sources focus on the two of them which are quite important for their notability since they focus primarily on them rather than random comments. I restored at least the most notable from Riku https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Riku_(Kingdom_Hearts)&diff=prev&oldid=1096367992 but I don't know if Xehanort is properly organized so I would appreciate somebody to help. Cheers. Tintor2 (talk) 19:52, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yozora[edit]

The newly created Yozora was nominated for deletion here Yozora. I'm not really sure if the sources are okay but I tried using analysis from gaming journalists rather than reviews which are apparently not approved the nominator.Tintor2 (talk) 00:35, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Analysis and potential free images[edit]

I noticed that a certain editor left several sources in Cloud Strife's further reading subsection. When reading them, I noticed there was far more content that could heavily expand his reception section but rather than praise or a dislike it was a heavy analysis about his portrayal and comparison with Christian religion. The more I added sources and balanced it with the reception, I realized I could add one or two free images (I almost added a Jesus image) like a messiah figure (which I found okay considering the figure I noticed was supported by symbols similar to the ones from the game or his portrayal as an atoner. From more what I read Tifa and Aertih have more potential for this type of commentary Sephiroth is even compared with Satan as hilarious as it might sound. I just noticed Kefka's article had a similar analysis. Feel free to revise them. There is sure more material to cook. Tintor2 (talk) 21:23, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Remaster article?[edit]

Is it possible to give Crisis Core Reunion its own article? I made a brief skeleton of it in my sandbox but I don't know if I should keep on going unless you agree. There sure are a lot of reviews to work on it in the reception section. Tintor2 (talk) 19:07, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: Speaking for myself, I'd have thought a section within the article on the development/release and incorporation into the main reception would've been better. It's basically the same game mechanically and narratively. I can hunt up sources and put them on the talk page if you want to. I don't have much interest in VII-related stuff, but I'll happily search for valid information. --ProtoDrake (talk) 19:41, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I see. Kinda like I did with Judgment (video game). Still, I was having doubts due to X and X-2 remaster article. Tintor2 (talk) 19:45, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: That was more substantial due to the Will audio drama, a more major graphical upgrade which had to account for a change in aspect ratio, more extensive audio changes, the inclusion of region-exclusive content worldwide with new localization, and the fact that it was two games released together. And I know Type-0 HD was something similar (PSP to High-def console remaster), but again that featured more radical changes including the original being Japan exclusive, redone music and new theme song, removing a core gameplay feature, featuring an anticipated demo, and adding new content. CC Reunion doesn't seem to have had that many changes, or maybe I'm in a prejudiced position. This is just my opinion. --ProtoDrake (talk) 19:59, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@ProtoDrake: Thanks. I'll try expanding Reunion in the original Crisis Core then. If you find any sources, feel free to add them to the talk page.Tintor2 (talk) 21:24, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Note: I had to rewrite most of the original Crisis Core reception section since it was mostly "X says that" and replaced them with generalizations. I also tried writing a reception section for Reunion but is not that big since I had some issues with my computer.Tintor2 (talk) 01:03, 20 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Project-independent quality assessments[edit]

Quality assessments by Wikipedia editors rate articles in terms of completeness, organization, prose quality, sourcing, etc. Most wikiprojects follow the general guidelines at Wikipedia:Content assessment, but some have specialized assessment guidelines. A recent Village pump proposal was approved and has been implemented to add a |class= parameter to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, which can display a general quality assessment for an article, and to let project banner templates "inherit" this assessment.

No action is required if your wikiproject follows the standard assessment approach. Over time, quality assessments will be migrated up to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, and your project banner will automatically "inherit" any changes to the general assessments for the purpose of assigning categories.

However, if your project has decided to "opt out" and follow a non-standard quality assessment approach, all you have to do is modify your wikiproject banner template to pass {{WPBannerMeta}} a new |QUALITY_CRITERIA=custom parameter. If this is done, changes to the general quality assessment will be ignored, and your project-level assessment will be displayed and used to create categories, as at present. Aymatth2 (talk) 14:31, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Done (we're technically custom, since we don't support A-class.) --PresN 15:26, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There is quite a lot of discussion about what to do with A-class going on at the moment. (See Wikipedia talk:Content assessment if you're interested.) The vast majority of projects do not use A-class so you are not alone there. Might it be worth joining the discussion and moving forward together, rather than opting out and going your own way? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:59, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. This is just a heads-up for anyone interested. I've recently completed a long-gestating expansion of the article for Enix. I've recently GA nominated the article for Square (another long-gestating project), but I don't think I have the energy to do it for Enix too through a combination of real-world stuff and not being as interested in Enix as a company. If anyone wants to take up Enix, I hope I've left a solid basis of work for someone. ProtoDrake (talk) 13:41, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

FFXVI PC[edit]

Hi. Coming here for wider opinions. In an interview with ASCII for Final Fantasy XVI, Naoki Yoshida has said and I quote from a translation "In regards to the development of the PC port, we plan to slowly work on it after release [of FFXVI for the PS5].". This is prompting editors to remove the PS5-only category (which may be applicable here) but also to put in Windows and a "TBA" release date for it, which just seems wrong to me. I'm of the mind that we keep the article as if it were PS5-exclusive until a PC version is actually announced with a date, not confirmed to be planned. Opinions? (One other thing, this Game Informer interview has more context from Yoshida on any PC ports) ProtoDrake (talk) 13:58, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, unless a PC port has been announced, it's crystal ball to say that they're going to make it. --PresN 15:10, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

XIII GT nom[edit]

Hi. So this doesn't vanish into the aether, just to let the project know that I started a supplementary nomination for the Final Fantasy XIII GT since Kung Fu Man brought it Vanille to GA. Did my best to fulfil all the necessary steps, but it's been literally ages since I did anything like this, so apologies if I missed anything. ProtoDrake (talk) 23:02, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Chrono Cross under Featured Article Review[edit]

I have nominated Chrono Cross for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets the featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" in regards to the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. George Ho (talk) 09:56, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's in the title. The article has been nominated for deletion. Comments welcome. ProtoDrake (talk) 12:49, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The overall FF series topic is up for removal, as no one's gotten FF16 to GA. Ironically, this is exactly what happened in 2017 when FF15 was released, too, and then the topic was re-nominated a year later once someone worked on that article. --PresN 15:02, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I had intended to get the article up to GA, but things were so idiotically chaotic on the article for so many reasons that it slipped out of my priority pile. --ProtoDrake (talk) 15:14, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that was fast- now at GAN. --PresN 12:55, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@PresN and Kung Fu Man: It could collapse. I'm just winging it. The nom for the FRC said they'd hold off for a fortnight to see if the GAN could pass in that time. Fingers crossed.
Eh, traditionally as long as you still have the GAN open the FRC stays indefinitely- the God of War one was open for like 3 months this summer, so I wouldn't feel too rushed now that you have the nomination posted. --PresN 15:59, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

List of Square Enix video games[edit]

The list is becoming unwieldy long, maybe we should split it by decade? Also List of Eidos Interactive games appears like a "See also" instead of being linked in lead. Harping about "SEE" again (sorry), I believe it is original to exclude them from the list (maybe this WP talk page is better for organization discussions?) Chrono Cross (again)[edit]

I'm sure people are aware, but: Chrono Cross is likely to be delisted as an FA soon. Several sections need a rewrite pass, and no one (including me) has stepped up to do more than cursory fixes. If anyone was unaware or considering trying for it, now's the time. --PresN 04:27, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Whelp, it's delisted. The Chrono topic will follow in 3 months unless it's brought back to at least GA before then. --PresN 01:25, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I can see what I can do if I get a moment, honestly never played it. It might be worth bringing up on the main VG project too, see if folks are willing to jump in and help like what happened with Samus.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 01:34, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Right, it's happened. After finally getting Final Fantasy XVI to GA status, I've nominated it for addition to the FF series topic. This is just so there's an easy link for people to follow, as I'm still new to this. I've done my best to follow the instructions. ProtoDrake (talk) 21:33, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure you need a formal addition nom since there's an FTRC open, but who knows. Glad to see it all working out, either way! --PresN 22:25, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Compilation of FF7 Good Topic[edit]

Wikipedia:Featured topics/Compilation of Final Fantasy VII is currently listed as in need of an update at the GT retention periods notice due to Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis. Now, 3 months is too short IMO (definitely cases where very important sources come out more than 3 months after a game is released), but nobody's moved on it yet anyway. It's a mobile game, though, and even worse, gacha. So... sourcing is inherently worse, and also tends to fall out of date. Anyone interested in taking a shot at getting it to GA? (A ping for @ProtoDrake:, original nominator of the topic as well.) SnowFire (talk) 08:15, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@SnowFire: So long as I didn't do it alone, I'd be willing. Also, we've got Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier to consider here. I can look for sources for the reception/gameplay and development, and may be able to take one of them through GAN process. --ProtoDrake (talk) 14:51, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
By rights, Remake and Rebirth (soon to be released) should be in the "Compilation" topic as well. Axem Titanium (talk) 17:41, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Given its renewed scope, I think we may have to let it die and be reborn. --ProtoDrake (talk) 18:23, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, got a lot on my plate right now but I'd be interested in helping down the line. No harm in letting the topic lapse for now until we're ready to do a good job of it. Axem Titanium (talk) 22:48, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

FF Music GT supplementary nom[edit]

Hi. Now that Music of Final Fantasy XVI has successfully passed GAN, I nominated as a supplementary addition to the FF Music GT so that topic doesn't die. ProtoDrake (talk) 13:43, 22 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
