Link farm article: Reverse proxy‎‎

While the technical information in this article might be considered OK, the article has, over time, morphed into a list of links to various open-source and commercial proxy software. It seems, in fact, there is more link text than article text.

I've added a DMOZ (Open Directory Project) link to the bottom of the article in preparation for removing most--or all--the links. I also posted a note about it on the article Talk page earlier today (2012-06-05).

The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking this article should be either deleted or merged into Proxy server.

Re Billy Stewart all that was there was: Stewart died in a car accident the following January, just two months prior to his 33rd birthday.

It took me about 30-40 hours ( 1)there are a lot of Billy Stewarts 2) hard finding very old newspaper stories) to find all that I added: The accident happened when the Ford Thunderbird Stewart was driving approached a bridge across the Neuse River. Stewart's car left the highway, ran along the median strip at a slight angle to the highway, struck the bridge curbing, and plunged into the river, killing Stewart and his three passengers instantly. The car had been purchased only 12 days before and had been driven only 1,400 miles before the accident occurred. The first trial was won by Ford Motor Company, but on appeal the court ruled that the trial court's refusal to give the requested jury instructions was in error and ordered the case reversed and remanded.[1] The case was then settled out of court.[2] Do you think I did that for seo for open jurist? Only 5 IP's in range 67.101.66.0/24 have been active since Jan 01, 2008, Edits prior are unrelated. It seems the IP's would appear to be Steve Of zautos.com per the contact info in several PR releases here, here, here...ect. The connection between zautos.com and orangecoastdentrepair.com is steve, evident by his promotion of both in his google plus news feed Jun 7, 2012, May 30, 2012 and Apr 18, 2012.   • Reason for reporting: The user has made promotion at his User page. I tagged them for Speedy delete, but CricketFighter (talk · contribs) (a possible Sockpuppet of BeeWARE) has been reverted my tagging ([15], [16] and [17]), and I re-reverted that edition. Both users edited the talk page contesting the deletion, demosntrating a clear ingorance of the Wikipedia policies.
Also, is important to mention than CricketFighter has been registered just today, apparently to "help" BeeWARE with his promotional article, and upload some Out of scope files (possible Copyvio) to Commons. I'll do the correspondient report in Commons.

Google showing a spam link

I recently noticed this spam revert, which led me to this blocked user. all pretty normal stuff.

Then I did a Google search to see if the spamlink was anywhere else on Wikipedia. It was - on the page of the blocked user. It appears that adding {{linkSummaryLive|lh=spam| [spam site URL] }} gives the spam site a free mention on Wikipedia that Google picks up.

I looked at the HTML source, and I see that the link has a rel="nofollow" on it, and indeed Google is not showing it as an actual link. That being said, It does show up as a text URL on the above Google search. To my way of thinking, someone who linkspams Wikipedia shouldn't get the URL of the spamsite mentioned at all. --Guy Macon (talk) 19:55, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

the page now has <meta name="robots" content="noindex,follow" /> in the header, so Google will eventually stop showing it. I will check periodically and report when that happens.

Assorted sites claiming to offer free giftcodes for Minecraft

Spammy sites offering free gift codes for Minecraft in exchange for completing various sketchy ad-related activities. Most, if not all, sites that purport to offer codes like this are either useless, or worse, will actively steal your information. Even if these particular sites are legit, they're of absolutely no encyclopedic value to the project whatsoever.

These links have been added numerous times by various IPs to Talk:Minecraft, including:

I initially filed a request to add these sites to the MediaWiki spam blacklist, but was turned down and told to revert as it occurs because the links were not technically hyperlinks. However, in the past few weeks the problem has worsened considerably, with the links now being added three or more times a week. I'm wondering if there's an edit filter or bot that can catch them without human interaction.
