Some short instructions for WP:MED folks who aren't regulars at CCI:

  1. Each page Walidou47 made substantial additions to is listed at the CCI page, with each addition diff listed separately. Open each diff, and check if the text was copy/pasted from the cited source (that seems to be this editor's MO. Every edit I've found that was copy/pasted was taken from the cited source, rather than from elsewhere. At least that makes our job a bit easier).
  2. If it appears all diffs for that page were not copy/pasted, replace the diffs on the CCI page with {{n}} and sign, as I did here.
  3. If any material is copy/pasted, you can decide to deal with it the easy way or the hard way. The easy way: just mark it with {{y}} and a brief note and one of the CCI regulars will follow-up (this would still be a huge help!).
  4. The hard way:
  1. We can accept text that is compatibly licensed, typically a creative commons attribution license (CC BY) or attribution-sharealike license (CC BY-SA). The former has become fairly popular in biomedicine, so you'll occasionally find these. If you find the source text is under a compatible license, add proper attribution by adding the {{CC-notice}} template to the end of the reference as I did here. The only hiccup is that we can accept CC BY-SA 3.0 but not CC BY-SA 4.0. If you see the sharealike license and want a second opinion, just note it at the CCI entry.
  2. If text is not under a compatible license (this is typically the case), it should be removed. If it's just a sentence, remove it and mark the CCI entry with {{y}}, a note, and a signature as I did here. If it's more than a sentence, mark the entry for one of the CCI regulars to consider revision deletion. When you remove text, you get bonus points if you replace it with new usable text (we can try to keep the baby when we throw out the bathwater).

Thanks in advance all! CCI is hugely understaffed, so cases can sit open for years. It'd be great if we could clear the med articles of at least these known copyvios. Cheers. Ajpolino (talk) 17:04, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
