What climate/energy photos do you need? (Climate Visuals)[edit]

Hi everyone, Climate Visuals is working to increase the photographs available to Wikimedia Commons in their library and is seeking insights from the Wikipedia community about the climate change photos you need and would use.

(The Climate Visuals library is designed to increase the impact and engagement of climate change photography and information via their creative commons photo gallery and evidence base).

What are the specific climate- and energy-related topics that you need photos for? What articles or topic areas are you working on, or planning to work on, that could use more compelling photos?

Please do let me know below and I’ll pass the message on. Climate Visuals will use this info to collect and curate existing photos that would fill these gaps. Thanks! TatjanaBaleta (talk) 12:22, 22 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

This article needs to be renamed. It is about the Kirkuk-Haifa pipeline and the twin Kirkuk-Tripoli oipeline that were constructed at the same time. Also, the Tripoli branch lasted much longer than the Haifa branch.

Suggestions:

  • Kirkuk-Medditeranean twin oil pipeline
  • Kirkuk-Haifa-Tripoli twin oil pipeline

Project-independent quality assessments[edit]

Quality assessments by Wikipedia editors rate articles in terms of completeness, organization, prose quality, sourcing, etc. Most wikiprojects follow the general guidelines at Wikipedia:Content assessment, but some have specialized assessment guidelines. A recent Village pump proposal was approved and has been implemented to add a |class= parameter to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, which can display a general quality assessment for an article, and to let project banner templates "inherit" this assessment.

No action is required if your wikiproject follows the standard assessment approach. Over time, quality assessments will be migrated up to {{WikiProject banner shell}}, and your project banner will automatically "inherit" any changes to the general assessments for the purpose of assigning categories.

However, if your project has decided to "opt out" and follow a non-standard quality assessment approach, all you have to do is modify your wikiproject banner template to pass {{WPBannerMeta}} a new |QUALITY_CRITERIA=custom parameter. If this is done, changes to the general quality assessment will be ignored, and your project-level assessment will be displayed and used to create categories, as at present. Renewable energy in Costa Rica is still Start-class[edit]

This article seems to have been greatly improved 7 years ago by Ceab.ico and nobody noticed. The user's request for an assessment at Assessment#Requesting_an_assessment is even still there. It is still Start-class, but would probably have been at least a B article. However, it's now a little out of date. Wizmut (talk) 07:00, 16 April 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
