Applications are discussed by the checkuser and SPI clerk team, and new clerks are added as needed. Applications where the editor has become less active on Wikipedia may be removed by a checkuser or SPI clerk.
Applicants are encouraged to actively participate in SPI cases as this will increase their chances of being selected.

I don't know how pressing the need for more clerks is right now, but it is an area where I'd be interested in contributing more. I have created a bunch of SPI reports in the years I've been an editor, and I believe I have a fairly strong knack for evaluating behavioural evidence. I would like to apply to become an SPI clerk - I have a background in anti-vandalism, LTA identification (and filing SPI reports with this knowledge), and using abuse filters (which I am able to read) in order to ascertain behavioural patterns of vandals and disruptive editors. Merging Thaiboy43 to Andcentra[edit]
Can an admin merge Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Thaiboy43/Archive to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Andcentra/Archive. Andcentra was the oldest blocked account in the Thaiboy43's case, and Andcentra's case lacks too much context, so I think they should be merged. Thank you. MarioGom promoted to full clerk[edit]
After discussion by the functionaries, I had the pleasure a little while ago of informing MarioGom that he's been kicked out of clerking school. I think he's supposed to get a different colored fez now. Or is that a cardigan? Or maybe he's just supposed to be fetching everybody coffee? I forget. But in any case, welcome Mario Gómez to the team.
