Introduction should summarise briefly the article so as to provide a spiralling out effect. That is, cover little of the article for the introduction which then the article goes onto cover more. Refer to the wikipedia manual of style.
History (Compulsory)[edit]
The most important aspect. All nations that have or are playing, have a history. This should focus on results against other rugby league nations, different coaching eras, adoption of playing strips / nicknames, reference to major players e.g. the likes of Mal Meninga, participation in various competitions.
Competitions (Compulsory)[edit]
Summarise whichever competitions (e.g. World Cup, Tri Nations) that the nation has competed in and link to relevant articles. If not article exist for the separate competitions, either one of two things can be done:
- Store all information about the competition under this section
- Create the relevant articles and link
Team strip (Compulsory)[edit]
The current strip should be described and pictured if possible. Changes to the strip should be discussed.
Names (Optional)[edit]
Any nicknames e.g. Kumuls should be explained.
Famous players (Optional)[edit]
From experience in taking union articles to FA status, a list of famous players will become an issue as it counts as original research. It is better to list the players that have been given some kind of status e.g. been included in a hall of fame or featured in an all-time 13. For minor teams, any player that has played NRL or Super League might be worth mentioning.
Other teams (Optional)[edit]
Many countries have one team largely drawn from "exiles" that have a Irish / Maltese / Lebanese grandmother but come from England or Australia and another drawn from a fledgling domestic competition. Other run national amateur teams.
