This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on October 8, 2022.

Visual display unit[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Computer monitor. plicit 00:08, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to Computer monitor, which literally states the subject was formerly called a "visual display unit". The recent back and forth retargeting of this redirect and the reasons why are in the redirect's edit history. Steel1943 (talk) 23:45, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. I was the one who redirected it to Electronic visual display, but having looked into it a bit more I am now convinced that Computer monitor is the better target. In particular, there was a British vs American usage issue of which I was not aware.--Srleffler (talk) 20:56, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Moldavie[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was soft delete. Based on minimal participation, this uncontroversial nomination is treated as an expired PROD (a.k.a. "soft deletion"). Editors can request the article's undeletion. plicit 00:07, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per WP:FORRED, there is no particular affinity between Moldova and French. Languages of Moldova notes it only as a foreign language that is sometimes the first foreign language taught in schools (but by implication less often than English). Wiktionary notes that the word can mean either Moldova (the country) or Moldavia (the region of Romanina) but fr.wp has the country as primary topic, so if this isn't deleted I don't think it should be retargetted. Jake Gomez (Marvel Cinematic Universe)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. plicit 00:08, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The character Jake Gomez did not appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe TV special Werewolf by Night as was made to believe in several sources, particularly from this one and this initial one which spurred it into other articles. The Maya-Gomez info was traced to an unverified IMDb profile. The character didn't appear, and as such, this redirect should be deleted. All mentions of an MCU Gomez are removed at the target and the special's article. Trailblazer101 (talk) 21:17, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Character does not exist (yet) in the MCU with not further indications he will appear in any other upcoming future project. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:47, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. Legoktm (talk) 02:59, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm attempting to clean up after Aairenuka956's attempts to hijack various articles and turn them into a page about this temple. None of the resulting redirects point to any page pertaining to that temple, and there's currently no mainspace article about it either, so these should all be deleted. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 19:05, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support and thanks for doing this. Renuka (the goddess) has a page, but I don't see Bhadra is relevant. "Padmakshi Temple, warangal" could be kept, despite the caps, though the temple isn't (now?) in that district, but the nextdoor one. But whatever. Johnbod (talk) 19:51, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy delete per WP:CSD#R3 as implausible typos to their current target. The attempts at hijacking have all been reverted and these redirects certainly are not plausible for the current target. Even if, the draft is accepted someday, these will still be very implausible. CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 09:51, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also, a certain redirect was moved post-RfDing, now located at Bhadraa which should also be deleted, as its target Bhadra (disambiguation) does not contain anything called "Bhadraa". CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 09:51, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note: I just added Padmakshi Renuka, Padmakshi renuka dev & Bhadraa (see above) to the nomination. I also modified the target of the certain nominated redirect. CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 20:20, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Bʹelarusʹ[edit]

The result of the discussion was speedy delete. Patent nonsense Firsfron of Ronchester 11:05, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find any uses of this (unlike "Belarus'"), Google translate regards it as Russian, giving the English as "Bʹlarusʹ" so it might be some sort of slang or slurred ponunciation? Whatever, I can find no evidence this is a useful redirect on the English Wikipedia. Thryduulf (talk) 16:55, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've just seen that a few days after creating this redirect in 2018, the creator (Учхљёная) was blocked by Tavix for creating patent nonsense (they were later indeffed for other reasons) so this might be speedily deletable as G1 but I'm going to leave it here for other opinions just in case. This is an extremely rare transliteration that seems only to be used by people from or with some connection to Israel or derivatives of this redirect. The redirect gets less than ten uses a year. Thryduulf (talk) 16:49, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Moldovans in Germany[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Moldovan diaspora. Jay 💬 18:28, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Having "Moldovans in Germany" redirect to "Romanians in Germany" is a very bad idea. Besides the fact that "Romanians in Germany" doesn't mention mention Moldovans in the article at all, the debate over whether Moldovans are a subgroup of Romanians or a separate ethnic group seems to be a very intense one so I don't think conflating Moldovans and Romanians like this is a good idea. I'm not sure if I articulated this quite right, but hopefully I've made my case. ~Cherri of Arctic Circle System (talk) 14:42, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Moldovan diaspora. While I can't find substantial content on this anywhere on WP, this article at least has a mention and potential for expansion, and the current redirect is misleading. Complex/Rational 15:38, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Moldovan diaspora, given the historical mixtures of the Moldovan population, current redirect is very inappropriate. Regards, --Goldsztajn (talk) 21:51, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This page does not disambiguate "Siemens ELFA". The term is mentioned 7 time in Enwiki [1] but none of those pages is a good target. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 14:33, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Software bug#Showstopper. Jay 💬 18:21, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This page doesn't disambiguate "showstopper bug" and the only article in Enwiki that mentions the term (Neverwinter Nights 2: "one reviewer encountered a "showstopper bug" in the initial retail version") isn't a good target. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 14:06, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Athletics/Alumni Center[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. Legoktm (talk) 03:00, 16 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Too generic of a term to redirect to the "Athletics/Alumni Center" bullet mentioned at its current target section. Suggesting delete. CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 14:04, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Far too generic a term to be able to usefully disambiguate, let alone point at a specific target. Thryduulf (talk) 17:01, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rename This issue has already been resolved by renaming it Athletics/Alumni Center (Houston). If that doesn't work, then rename it Athletics/Alumni Center (University of Houston). This building houses many of the sports teams for the Houston Cougars. It is too important of a building to eliminate. Renaming fixes the problem. Thanks for your consideration.Spatms (talk) 17:54, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Spatms this discussion is not about the article or its title, and it has not been nominated for deletion. This discussion is about the redirect left behind at the former title when it was moved. Thryduulf (talk) 22:02, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Thryduulf: I see that the creator has moved the redirect post-RfD nomination. What next? Re tag the nominated page, tag both pages? CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 09:58, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@CX Zoom: generally we revert to the status quo as at the time of nomination, and I don't see an issue with doing that here. I don't have time right now to do it. Thryduulf (talk) 10:08, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Thryduulf and CX Zoom: It has been fixed. At this point, I'd say if Athletics/Alumni Center (Houston) needs to be nominated, it should probably be done with either a separate nomination or bundled with this one after this one is relisted (possibly relisted procedurally.) Steel1943 (talk) 15:24, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per nom as too generic. I don't see the same rationale applying for the Houston redirect for it to be nominated/bundled. Jay 💬 18:18, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Per target article, Kathy Hammond's full first name is Kathryn, not Kathleen. There are a few Kathleen Hammonds who are at least little-n notable, like this academic and this book reviewer [2] [3], the latter of whom is who I was looking for when I came upon this redirect. • Keep as {{R from incorrect title}} per A7V2. Just based on page views, I think it's much more likely anyone using this would be seeking the current target rather than either of the entries at Peter Brooke, especially the one who actually was knighted, and those who are are served by a hatnote. • The uppercased version should have targeted a search engine software or service with that name (if there is one). The lowercased version is protected (but that was more than a decade ago) but it could be a standalone article at people search or people-search, or at a minimum we could have a list of people-search engines. I don't see data broker as a target although it mentions one people search product. There are multiple such products on enwiki hence delete per Shhhnotsoloud. Jay 💬 09:57, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
