Date and time notation in Taiwan[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Date and time notation in Asia#Greater China. Without prejudice to the creation of an article if necessary. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 01:44, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Per Talk:Republic_of_China_calendar#Requested_move_24_July_2019 target does not cover date and time notation in Taiwan prior to 1945 and should indeed be formatted like other articles in Category:Date and time representation by country, which, on a side note, I think is better off titled Category:Date and time notation by country to be consistent with the articles themselves. - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 01:20, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Jack Shore (fighter)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to Jack Shore. plicit 03:47, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect now redirects to List of current UFC fighters#Bantamweights (135 lb, 61 kg) despite there is already existing Jack Shore article which is the correct one. Also, there are no other Jack Shore articles I can find with the search. Thus, I would suggest the whole Jack Shore (fighter) redirect to be removed altogether. • Delete, this was created by a user with a history of creating redirects from made-up terms. If someone can show usage for the term, I will reconsider. -- Tavix (talk) 18:48, 27 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete This redirect is implausible. ―Susmuffin Talk 14:11, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per my !vote in both linked discussions. Plausible search term if you're not familiar with U.S. norms regarding the word "City" in placenames. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 00:59, 31 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Tamzin and my comments in the other discussions. Just because a USian will not call a US city in this manner does not mean that nobody will. Thryduulf (talk) 21:02, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep valid point, i would say, "new york" instead "New York City".Leomk0403 (talk) 12:41, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Creme broolay[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 05:44, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A phonetic respelling, not really used by anyone as far as I can tell. The few pageviews that this has can probably be attributed to the fact that it's the first suggestion when one types "creme b" or "creme br" in the search bar (the target Crème brûlée does not appear because of the missing diacritic). Un assiolo (talk) 19:46, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep, harmless, plausible and over 300 hits so far this year is nowhere near "not really anybody" or "few pageviews". If people get to the article they want to read it doesn't matter if they go via a redirect or not from either their perspective or the server's. Thryduulf (talk) 22:25, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, per WP:CHEAP and people who don't know French well could plausibly misspell brûlé as broolay. snood1205(Say Hi! (talk)) 13:10, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. If it's kept, we should probably add the {{R from misspelling}} template. Station1 (talk) 16:00, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect is not used anywhere and is rather misleading. The IPA symbol for a voiceless uvular fricative is /ꭓ/, while /kʰ/ is an aspirated voiceless velar plosive. Both of these sounds as well as the voiceless velar fricative and voiceless pharyngeal fricative are sometimes transliterated into English as "kh" from non-Latin scripts, however this has nothing to do with the IPA. – filelakeshoe (t / c) 🐱 12:06, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect target has been redirected to a more broader list of hotels, all of which have articles. Since this one doesn't there is no valid reason for this redirect. Ajf773 (talk) 10:21, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Ajf773: speed web searching shows that this Tartu hotel is not notable due to lack of WP:SIGCOV. If reliable sources will be finded, then I have no opposition--Estopedist1 (talk) 10:35, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to NE10. Hog Farm Talk 15:35, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just like my previous nominations at Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2021_October_31#NE9_station, this redirect is ambiguous with Potong Pasir MRT station and possibly other stations coded NE10. feminist (+) 09:08, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambiguate create a dab page at NE10, and list the various NE10 stations and other uses there, then retarget this redirect to the new dab page -- 64.229.90.53 (talk) 11:38, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Per our article on Houston#Cityscape, Houston has several business districts rather than a single one; moreover, Houston is not usually known for being a financial hub. In any case, Downtown Houston has a better claim to being the central business district of Houston. feminist (+) 09:04, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Borough of Richmond. Consensus is clear that we don't need to wait to point this to the existing DAB. (non-admin closure) User:力 (powera, π, ν) 01:04, 7 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is more likely to refer to the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. feminist (+) 08:00, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Borough of Richmond, already a dab page with both places listed. Station1 (talk) 08:07, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • Good find. feminist (+) 11:48, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per Station1 -- 64.229.90.53 (talk) 11:51, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Borough of Richmond: There are too many potential targets here. ―Susmuffin Talk 18:24, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy retarget to Borough of Richmond There is no reasonable argument for doing anything with this redirect other than targeting it to Borough of Richmond, which lists Richmond Borough as an alternate formulation. Let's just skip the bureaucracy. Mlb96 (talk) 06:42, 4 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Borough of Richmond, "Richmond Borough" doesn't appear in the Staten Island article apart from "Richmond Borough Association of Women Teachers" so it does not appear to be a proper noun for the American one and given Google results (from England) only show the London borough even when this is put in quotes suggests in England that would be expected so I'd suggest there likely isn't a primary topic.
