The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 03:00, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Implausible search term, and ambiguous (it's the number of inches in a mile, but it's also, for instance, the postal code for an area in Puy-de-Dรดme, France). YorkshireLadย ย โœฟ ย (talk) 23:06, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: Even though a consensus for deletion has already formed, it would be interesting to see if other participants would also support the creation of a DAB page.

The result of the discussion was retarget. --BDD (talk) 19:07, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would be helpful if this could be retargeted to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Requests for closure, but perhaps the history of this redirect would make that inappropriate? Mdewman6 (talk) 21:10, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Shortcuts should always be employed where they would be the most helpful. It's only been linked a handful of times since its creation in 2007, so I don't see any obvious barriers to retargeting. -- Tavix (talk) 02:21, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, the project already has other better named shortcuts. Funandtrvl (talk) 15:13, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per nom. The redirect was depreciated and marked historical in 2018, only has 31 incoming links and it's not immediately obvious why it points at it's current target (I assume it means ANChors?). It seems it would be much better targeting the administrators noticeboard. 86.23.109.101 (talk) 16:59, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Clinton impeachment trials[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 02:06, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect is at best a {{R from plural}} for Clinton impeachment trial, which targets a section at Impeachment of Bill Clinton. Since there was only one trial, I think the plural form here is inappropriate, unhelpfully clutters search results, and should be deleted. If kept, it should be recategorized with {{R from plural}} and {{R to section}}, as the current categories ({{R from alternative name}} and {{R printworthy}}) are inappropriate. Mdewman6 (talk) 20:30, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - seems plausible to search for it in this way. Someone searching may not be totally familiar with the process. Definitely make the changes to the categories you suggest though. A7V2 (talk) 23:53, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. This seems plausible and there have been almost 60 paveviews in the last year. CrazyBoy826 00:03, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The high pageviews are likely due in part to the fact that the correct Clinton impeachment trial was only recently created (by me). Also, this page was originally a very poor stub that really should have been deleted in the first place rather than blanked and redirected. Mdewman6 (talk) 00:14, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Perfectly plausible for someone who isn't familiar with what happens - there hearings in both houses of congress that could easily be misunderstood as trials. That this was created before the singular, and was the location an article was created are both good indicators that this is a plausible search term. Thryduulf (talk) 01:02, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps then it would be best to untarget the redirect to the impeachment article in general (and then just categorize as {{R from plural}})? Mdewman6 (talk) 01:22, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Either retarget to pejorative, where derogative targets, or delete as too many errors. 7 views in the whole of 2020 suggest this isn't a common error. Hog Farm Talk 05:26, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Pejorative. The low hit count made me pause, but an all-time analysis shows 2020 to be on the low end of its hit range; this is definitely an uncommon search, but not a worthless one. Vaticidalprophet (talk) 07:01, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Pejorative per Vaticidalprophet BlackholeWA (talk) 06:30, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The subject of the target article is not necessarily known by the mononym, and deletion would unable uninhibited Search to find Loius Bontes and the other unrelated mentions of this word. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 16:59, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Brain cell (disambiguation)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. signed, Rosguill talk 19:02, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. The target page is no longer a disambiguation page (or a disambiguation-like page): "brain cell" is not ambiguous. @Narky Blert:'s WP:G14 tag was removed by @Iztwoz:. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 16:50, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. I cannot imagine why my G14 speedy was taken off; it looked utterly routine. {{R from ambiguous}} ("a redirect from an ambiguous page name to a page or list that disambiguates it") is only appropriate for redirects to DAB pages, and is totally inappropriate for a redirect to a WP:PTOPIC. Narky Blert (talk) 17:01, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I suspect that the speedy deletion was declined due to the extensive page history (a quick look suggests this has been an article at least twice). The {{R from ambiguous}} is definitely incorrect though, it even explicitly says "this template should never appear on a page that has "(disambiguation)" in its title" (emphasis in original). Thryduulf (talk) 17:15, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Even if this page has history, a DAB page is not an article. The first sentence of MOS:DAB begins: "Disambiguation pages [...] are non-article pages". Narky Blert (talk) 18:07, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, but the versions in the page history were articles not disambiguation pages, the page has been moved at least once since then. Thryduulf (talk) 22:42, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Unsure why this was declined G14 deletion. Does not target a disambiguation page and the term is not ambiguous. I don't think the page history of a 1k article that was repeatedly vandalised by IP's and repeatedly reverted to a redirect is worth keeping. 86.23.109.101 (talk) 21:30, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • Whether it is worth keeping or not it is something that that should be considered here rather than speedily deleted. Thryduulf (talk) 22:42, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The target article does not mention "tier" and does not contain any direct information about tier classifications of universities. A reader searching for "Tier three university", for instance, will therefore find nothing helpful at this target. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 09:18, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • There is some mention of tier 4 here for Sheffield AC and here for Hertfordshire but I'm not sure it belongs in the article and if it doesn't then it should be deleted. Crouch, Swale (talk) 10:46, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect should be deleted. There is no documentation that there was ever a Battle of Despotovac. In the Stefan Lazareviฤ‡ article there is no mention of any such battle. So in effect readers are given the impression that a fictious battle occurred and are sent to an article where no mention is made.

A search of the Internet for "Battle of Despotovac" will only produce other Wikipedia articles linked in some manner to the term "Battle of Despotovac" or articles that have sourced Wikipedia. This article was created without sourcing by a non-existant user.

Thanks VFF0347 (talk) 03:06, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete unless a properly sourced entry is added to the target article. As stated by the nom there's no mention of this supposed battle at the target and the only mention of Despotovac is with regards to the monastery he built there. As it stands this redirect will simply confuse readers. The one line stub article that was at this redirect was apparently a copyvio from a myspace profile, which does not bode well for verifiability and reliability. 86.23.109.101 (talk) 10:43, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • The more I look into it the more I'm sure this is a hoax. The article claimed that Bayezid I's son Musa was killed in this battle in 1406, but we know that he actually died in 1413 following the battle of ร‡amurlu (see the sources in Musa ร‡elebi). 86.23.109.101 (talk) 16:00, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
