Unnecessary and unused recently created redirect to Template:School disambiguation. I do not see any use in keeping this, there are also already two redirects to this template; Schooldis (original template name moved to School disambiguation in 2011) and Schooldab (created in 2012) which are used, although these two names do look a bit terrible. The place to discuss article content is on the article's talk page, not here

  • Pigsonthewing, if we're speaking of pointless, as you can see my edit here I changed disambig to School disambiguation which is the correct disambiguation template for this page. You then reverted my edit changing School disambiguation to School disambig which didn't exist at the time, only to then change it back to School disambiguation. Then you created School disambig. Pointless edits. Steven (Editor) (talk) 18:49, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for kindly saving me the bother of explaining why the redirect (like the city names that you removed and I restored, on the disambiguation page) is needed. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 19:00, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Good for restoring the city names, but you didn't add the country which should be added. Changing correctly added School disambiguation to non-existent School disambig, explain the logic here.. Steven (Editor) (talk) 19:14, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Clocks[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Clock as prior to March last year. -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:20, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to Clock per WP:PLURALPT, as someone searching for "clocks" is most likely looking for the article on the time pieces. Rreagan007 (talk) 15:57, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • For most of its history, this was targeted to Clock. But in March last year, its target was changed to Clocks (song), which remained the case until a few days ago. The issue was briefly discussed at Talk:Clocks_(song)#Requested_move_29_September_2020, so pining participants: Neveselbert, BarrelProof, Crouch, Swale, Paintspot, Randy Kryn, Lugnuts. – Uanfala (talk) 16:06, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm fine with either, it certainly can be argued that someone typing the plural form wants the song and while we can safely say the song isn't primary (at least by PT#2/ASTONISH) I'm not sure the device is, that said the usual rule at WP:PLURALPT is that a plural form redirects to its equivalent singular. To add to the evidence I presented at the RM a Google Search for clocks mainly returns the device but the song is there, Images and Books only show the device though. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:24, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget per nom.--Esprit15d • talkcontribs 17:08, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Either redirect to Clock (disambiguation) or to Clock, but not to the song. The plural form probably does raise the likelihood that someone is looking for the song, but not up to the point that they would be almost certainly looking for the song. People definitely should not be astonished if they look for "clocks" and end up at an article about timekeeping devices. —BarrelProof (talk) 21:06, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect to Clock per nom and discussion Randy Kryn (talk) 03:57, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep existing target of Clock (disambiguation). Redirects to WP:PTOPICs always collect bad links. It's best for the encyclopaedia to keep redirects to PTOPICs to an absolute minimum. One more click for readers? natch. Bad bluelinks? come back after you've fixed a couple of thousand, and then try to convince me they're a good idea. Narky Blert (talk) 17:24, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I understand your point, but this goes against our general redirect policies of usually redirecting plurals the primary topic as laid out at WP:PLURALPT. Rreagan007 (talk) 18:23, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I understand from that that you think that it is more important to rigidly follow a guideline than to worry about bluelinks which point readers to the wrong place. I disagree. Narky Blert (talk) 23:07, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • No, I think the guidelines exist for a very good reason, and in this particular case I definitely think the guideline should be followed. Links can be fixed. Laziness is not a valid reason to oppose following the guidelines. Rreagan007 (talk) 04:46, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I prefer to minimise the number of bad bluelinks which WP already has, and to minimise the chances of yet more being created. Narky Blert (talk) 20:11, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Then you fix the links. Linking to a DAB page isn't a good solution. Rreagan007 (talk) 03:41, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely typo for "encyclopedia", with no hits whatsoever for the full name "Enecyclopedia of the brethren of purity" on WP or Google. — MarkH21talk 09:05, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete the first, keep the second as article. The latter was effectively rendered out of scope by being converted into an article in good faith. Thanks, IP! --BDD (talk) 18:59, 6 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Cross-namespace redirect to a category. Not directly eligible to speedy per WP:R2, however I can see no value in this redirect. There is nothing in the category beyond the redirect itself and a subcategory with 2 articles. There is no other specific content related to the Swedish diaspora community in Namibia, if it even exists. The second redirect is a similar creation by the same user, also pointing to a descent category with a handful of biographical articles and the redirect itself. Toddlercon is "an obscure genre of manga and anime which depicts toddler characters in a suggestive or erotic manner". This term has long since disappeared from the articles it has redirected to over the years, and for good reason, since it is an unencyclopedic neologism that is not worthy of note. A new editor has recently attempted to restore the article at Toddlercon with no sources other than its AfD. I restored the redirect per the AfD and WP:G4, but I also believe that these redirects should be deleted. Crossroads -talk- 03:30, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per Crossroads. I don't see how these redirects are needed. No valid reason for them to continue to exist. Flyer22 Frozen (talk) 04:06, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Toddlercon (2nd nomination) No increase in notability since then. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 06:22, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Per the AfD discussion(s), probably a hoax and no encyclopaedic potential whatsoever. Place Clichy (talk) 09:50, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Soft redirect to Wiktionary. This is very much not a hoax - the second AfD turned up plenty of mentions and (thin) references in journals and there are also references at pt:Toddlercon (although that article is essentially a dictionary defitition); and it's not really a neologism at this point either. It isn't mentioned anywhere on Wikipedia, but it does have a Wiktionary entry which is where we should be directing people. Thryduulf (talk) 16:57, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
