"Quantity equation"[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete and retarget, respectively. I'll also create the proposed redirect. --BDD (talk) 20:54, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The quotation-marked version is not a likely search term. The addition of quotation marks appears to be an attempt to get around Wikipedia already having a redirect from Quantity equation to Quantity theory of money. I would propose redirecting Quantity equation to Numerical value equation, adding a hatnote there, creating Quantity equation (economics) to point to Quantity theory of money, and deleting the quotation-marked version. signed, Rosguill talk 22:11, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Good catch! Please do it :) I don't know how the quotes could enter my edit...Biggerj1 (talk) 09:02, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This person was an unsuccessful candidate for the Vermont House of Representatives in 2018. She did receive a rape threat during her campaign, but the target article subsection only contains a single sentence on her, and it arguably is WP:UNDUE for that page since it is a minor local story. Nblund talk 21:26, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom and also because she is a WP:BLP. — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs)  02:58, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
    • She isn't. She's a living person, and so the BLP policy applies with regards to her, i.e. she is a WP:BLP subject, but she is not a biography. (sorry if this seems pedantic but I dislike people referring to human beings as biographies or as policies). Thryduulf (talk) 09:26, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This actor was never part of this series. He was part of Yagit (2014 TV series) but only as a guest cast. Redirect not needed.   Sub |HMU  18:34, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak delete I have no familiarity with this subject, but if the nom's statement is correct then this redirect should be deleted. signed, Rosguill talk 05:19, 14 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

3rd Prototype[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to NoCopyrightSounds. --BDD (talk) 20:11, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Name is not exclusive to the turbojet engine, nor to the music artist connected to this redirect's previous target, NoCopyrightSounds. Jalen Folf (talk) 03:54, 5 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like a blocked vandalism account changed it from the record label to the engine (which was likely a completely random target). 3rd Prototype is in the artists listed so I guess it wouldn't hurt to simply revert back to the original intention. All the examples of this phrase in relation to meat that I found online seemed to just generically refer to still-hot meat, and not limited to specifically roasting. IMO the ideal target for this would be Meat cooking, but no such articles exist. Other possible targets could be Meat, Cooking, or the antonym Cold cuts, but given that those are all fairly far removed from hot cuts, deletion may be a better option. signed, Rosguill talk 20:32, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking of a carvery as the best example of a hot cut of meat (compared with a cold cut) and carveries tend to do roasts.Sturmovik (talk) 06:19, 5 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget Carvery, which is a closer topic match and the opposite of cold cut. Deryck C. 15:58, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as ambiguous. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 17:21, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as an ambiguous term with no clear target. Hot cut could refer to telecommunications, popular music, blacksmithing, beak trimming, etc. - Eureka Lott 21:30, 17 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete since hot cuts could refer to anything random. Better still, disambiguate. Ambrosiawater (talk) 08:32, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per above, especially Ambrosiawater, without prejudice (of course) to someone re-creating as a disambiguation page. Doug Mehus T·C 02:50, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Abbreviation meaning "various species of the genus Holcus". The are about 50 other redirects from "Foo spp" or "Foo spp." to genera named Foo. This form of abbreviation is well-attested collectively but is it a likely search term at all? If it is useful to have a random assortment of 50ish redirects of this form (but not standardized in whether to have a period after spp), should redirects of this form be created for tens of thousands of other genera? Plantdrew (talk) 03:26, 13 November 2019 (UT)

  • Delete I can understand that such a 'spp' redirect might be useful for some speciose, "difficult", and ecologically important genera like Juncus,Carex, or Sphagnum, (I have a temperate bias!) but the redirects don't seem to be used, even in those cases. There is currently one main space link for Eucalyptus spp. To format the abbreviation properly, only the genus name should be in italics, so a pipe is still required (e.g. Eucalyptus spp.) William Avery (talk) 09:39, 13 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
