Houptsyte[edit]

- The result of the discussion was Keep - jc37 19:18, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Name of main page on alswiki, useless, no one will EVER search for it TheChampionMan1234 02:43, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
- Keep. The stats show that the redirect has been used between 14 and 30 times every month in 2012, so the nomination statement is factually incorrect and this is a useful search term. Thryduulf (talk) 03:35, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
- Delete WP:DIC Wikipedia is not a translation a dictionary. Our main page is in English and is an English-language topic, so there is no linguisitic links between en.wiki's main page and "Houptsyte". Further, I suspect this means "homepage" and not "main page", and we have an article on homepage, so this redirect is also misleading, since it is pointing to our main portal, and not the subject for which this would normally refer to. -- 70.24.247.66 (talk) 04:53, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
- Keep - plausibly useful for navigation, since someone thought to create it and it appears to be being used, and xenophobic arguments aside, there's no reason to delete it. WilyD 09:10, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
- Keep per Thryduulf's findings; fourteen to thirty people per month aren't no one, this page isn't hurting anything, and there's definitely no other page to which it could be redirected. If not for those hits, I would have voted to delete. Nyttend (talk) 01:01, 25 October 2012 (UTC)
- Comment since it means "homepage" it could be redirected to home page -- 65.92.181.190 (talk) 06:35, 28 October 2012 (UTC)
- From Wikipedia:Redirect: "[R]edirects from a foreign language title to a page whose subject is unrelated to that language (or a culture that speaks that language) should generally not be created." Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 21:14, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- Isn't that exactly why people are voting to keep it? It is the name of Wikipedia's main page in a language that is unrelated to the topic at hand (English Wikipedia's main page) -- 65.92.181.190 (talk) 07:30, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- Per the comments at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2012 October 20#Mae meh, this is an exception to the general rule about foreign language redirects. Thryduulf (talk) 13:15, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

John Crossman[edit]

- The result of the discussion was Keep. Valid {{R from other name}}, no reason to delete. Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 04:43, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- John Crossman → Mordechai Vanunu (links to redirect • history • stats) [ Closure: keep/delete ]
Page redirects to Mordechai Vanunu - I see no reference to the name John Crossman on that page - the redirect may even be some cleaver bit of vandalism. Page created by an IP some years ago. Ronhjones (Talk) 00:28, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
- Keep. There isn't currently any reference in the prose, but "John Crossman" is listed as an alternative name in the infobox. It seems that many web references to him include both names (e.g. Wikileaks), but 5 minutes googling has yet to reveal any more information than that. Redirects from other names are useful, and this one is consistently getting 25-30 hits a month. Thryduulf (talk) 02:33, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
- I've now tagged it as {{R from other name}}. Thryduulf (talk) 02:34, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
