Classic case of an implausible redirect. Rossami claims it was not recently created. I say that creation was on March 12. We already have a redirect at lamina emergent mechanisms and a link from LEM we do not need more. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:44, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • The "recently created" clause in CSD#R3 was explicitly added in recognition of the fact that older pages often have inbound links which should not be disrupted without good cause. The title was created on 17 May 2011. The page was moved on 12 March 2012. The exact wording of CSD#R3 reads "This criterion also applies to redirects created as a result of a page move of pages recently created at an implausible title." (emphasis added) Moving a page does not release us from the problem of inbound links and link rot. The movement of a page does not reset the clock on the creation of a title. "Recently created" is a measure of the time that the title has existed, not merely the latest redirect.
I also dispute the assertion that a pagemove of a title created in good faith solely to make the title compliant with the Manual of Style counts as an implausible redirect. You may find it unnecessary but it is not by any reasonable measure implausible. This redirect creates neither harm nor confusion. Keeping it minimizes the risk of link rot and accidental forking. Redirects are cheap and deleting this redirect does not improve the encyclopedia. Keep Rossami (talk) 13:57, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: no indication of implausibility. Quite a lot of such titles used to exist (and continue to exist as redirects) and many readers are used to searching for such keywords. Link rot issue also applies as pointed out by Rossami, as the page existed for 10 months under the old name. The previous months stats show 133 hits, and unless someone reliably proves that at least 100 of them came via on-site links this redirect should be presumed used and therefor useful. Probably we should amend WP:RFD with the statement that no redirect can be nominated for discussion before we have clean stats for at least one calendar month?Dmitrij D. This is misleading and should be deleted, since as far as I know "Tamil Nadu Board of Higher Secondary Education" is different from Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education per http://mhrd.gov.in/recognized_boards and http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/home/education/board-exams/Tamil-Nadu-Board-of-Higher-Secondary-Education/articleshow/9991035.cms Siddhartha Ghai (talk) 00:20, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Agree to Siddhartha Ghai . These are two different institutes and should not be redirected . Shyamsunder (talk) 01:53, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
