Hi,

Thanks for all the nice comments, you should try doing basic designs first and then move on to something with more depth and colours. I learned through trying too, never did graphics before until I started contributing to Wikipedia. However I started with Inkscape since it has an easier interface, illustrator is great but expensive! Anyway I am threading carefully around Australian coat of arms, since I am not sure about the copyright issue. There is an example of a debate on it here: Talk:Coat of arms of Australia. I am not saying no, but I need to be certain. I don't want to break any laws and certainly don't want to get any work deleted. Best Regards, Sodacan (talk) 04:50, 2 May 2013 (UTC)

Actually, now that you mention it... the FAC for Enrico Fermi has been open for over a month now, and it appears it may soon be closed for lack of reviewers. Fermi is one of the most important physicists in history, and I'd hate to see the candidacy die on the vine. Stanley Bruce (1883–1967) was the eighth Prime Minister of Australia, serving from 1923 to 1929. He was a barrister and businessman before being wounded in the Gallipoli Campaign of World War I. Elected to parliament in 1918 as a member of the Nationalist Party, he served as treasurer in the government of Billy Hughes before replacing him as prime minister in 1923. Bruce overhauled federal government administration and oversaw its transfer to the new capital, Canberra. His "men, money and markets" scheme was an ambitious attempt to rapidly expand Australia's population and economic potential through massive government investment and closer ties with Great Britain and the rest of the British Empire. But his heavy-handed response to industrial unrest and attempts to overhaul labour laws led to a landslide defeat in 1929. After politics, Bruce became involved with the League of Nations until the outbreak of World War II. After the war, he was a leading advocate of development aid, a founder of the Food and Agriculture Organization, the first chancellor of the Australian National University and the first Australian to sit in the House of Lords (as Viscount Bruce of Melbourne). If you were able to make a trip to Sydney, it would be great if you could inject some of your expertise into our forthcoming editathon, which will follow a backstage pass given at the State Library of New South Wales by some of the Library's curators on 23 November.

This is the first time that an Australian cultural institution has opened its doors to us in this way and will be a special opportunity because the Library is providing: one of its best rooms; its expert curators (along with their expertise and their white gloves); a newly launched website (containing new resources); and of course, items from its collection (including rare and usually unavailable material) which we can look at, learn from, and use, to improve WP articles. For example, on the chosen topic (Australia and WWI), the Library holds many diaries and manuscripts from the period.

It should be an interesting event, and you would undoubtedly be of great value to it. As you can see from the Library's project page, they have connected this editathon with their own work. They have already set out a wide range of resources to make things easier for us. Quick question
