Online Ambassador[edit]

Hello, I am an experienced Wikipedia editor who has volunteered as an online ambassador to assist students editing Wikipedia:India Education Program/Courses/Fall 2011/Research Methodology Year 3 Group A articles. Please call on me freely with respect to editing and style questions. I can also address any issues you may encounter with other users confidentially. I live in the United States, MDT, so please be mindful of the time difference, about 12 hours. I am often available on irc in the early morning or late evening. I am available through Wikipedia email and will respond to notes on my talk page. Our experience with mentoring is that users who edit actively and communicate freely with other users often have the best experience, so, if possible, jump right in and actively edit your class assignment and anything else that interests you and feel free to ask me, or any other Wikipedia user, for help. Your note[edit]

Hi. You are the online ambassador for me. Do take a look at my article, link is there on my user page. I haven't put any references till now, but apart from that, I would really like a feedback from you! Thanks :) Tejal Johri (talk) 15:31, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It looks good, but as I have never heard of the subject, I would have to see references to even get started. It is much better practice to put references into your work as you develop it. User:Fred Bauder Talk 23:22, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Picture Upload[edit]

hi Tejal, i spoke to other CA's, you need to get permission from the photographer or the owner of the website, obviously thats a little tough, so leave it for now, uploading images is not that imp, concentrate on the content of your article, what you can do is, try searching for the image in commons. Feedback on Fei-Ranis Model of Economic Growth[edit]

Hi Tejal,

First of all I really like your article and especially the diagrams, it's coming up really well!

Yes, I'm a Campus Ambassador allocated to your class(not Online Ambassador).

I went through your article and have few Suggestions:

  • Shorten the lead section, try to put the jist of the article here instead of putting paragraphs
  • After putting up the lead section put a Introduction section and elaborate about the article
  • Put a brief about the diagram and then start explaining it, it will help readers to create the context
  • Don't make too many lines bold, it pinches readers eyes and might loose the interest
  • Put internal links inside the article for e.g., put MR or Marginal Revenue in square brackets for e.g., Marginal revenue, it will create a link to the existing Wikipedia article and help readers to navigate.
  • Make formulas Bold, and if possible in a single line
  • Add more references
  • Add a Category i.e., which category this article belongs

I'm really impressed with your article and hope that we'll go for "Good Article" after making the required changes.

Keep it up!!

Cheers,

Ram (talkcontribs) 19:28, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Footer[edit]

Hey Tejal! I really liked it, one small suggestion just add a category to it for e.g., economics or which ever category it belongs to.

Great Job!

Feedback[edit]

  1. Sentences like "Using the help of the figure on the left" do not make sense in case you're using WP on your phone. What if someone edits it and changes the text in such a way that the diagram is on the right? Instead label the figure and refer to it in the text. That's what I did for Robinson Crusoe Economy.
  2. "Connectivity between sectors" section has no references! Even the WP:lede doesn't! Put references for every sentence possible.
  3. As per WP:MOS you should use italics, not bold to draw attention to certain points.
  4. Change firstly, secondly, thirdly, fourthly!! It doesn't flow with the rest of the article. You need not cut it up into these 5 strict blocks. Let it be like 5 different paragraphs. That's why you have a common heading above.
  5. Instead of a title like "Evaluation of the model" maybe you can write "reactions". Read wp:Crit
  6. All the best, the article looks great otherwise! Love the figures! :-)

A tag has been placed on Partial Theories of Development requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Page Statistics[edit]

Hey Tejal!

I'm not sure if you are confused with the entries in "View History" link. If that's the issue all I'll say is you need to click on either "older entries" or any of the number, I'll suggest you on 500, which will show you the last 500 edits history.

I hope it works.

Happy Editing :)

No, I am talking about the article traffic view statistics. The graph shows me the views only for one day before, and shows the views before as zero. I don't know if this is how it appears only from my screen, or whether everyone sees it that way. Do you understand what I am saying? I am not talking about the edits, but the views. Hi Tejal, It seems there's some problem with Wikipedia servers, and none of the page view counters are working properly. So in short don't worry, I know u might be curious about the page views but we need to be a bit patient for some time.

Cheers,
