Hello, I'm ZfJames. I noticed that you recently removed content from Byzantine Empire under the Komnenos dynasty without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. —zfJames Please add

Overzealous tagging
You tagged User:Daask/sandbox/Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine for CSD with G1, G11, and G13. While this is virtually an empty page and therefore inadvertent deletion is not a big deal, I don't believe any of these criteria apply in this case. Please be more careful in the future. WP:UAA reports on users with no edits
Generally, there is no reason to report usernames with no edits whatsoever. Per WP:UAAI: "Wait until the user edits. Do not report a user that hasn't edited unless they are clearly a vandal. We do not want to welcome productive editors with a report at UAA, nor do we want to waste our time dealing with accounts that may never be used." The exceptions are obvious hate speech or names that attack a living person/Wikipedia editor, those are blockable even without any edits, but other run-of-the-mill violations need not be reported unless and until they at least attempt to edit, and you should be able to clearly explain what the problem is if it is not immediately evident.
For whatever reason, every day dozens, if not hundreds of accounts are created that never make one single edit. It is our responsibility as admins to conscientiously review every report a user makes at UAA, so we have to check for contribs, deleted contribs, and tripping of the edit filter for every one of these reports, only to find out there's nothing there and therefore no problem to be solved. So we add the {{wait}} tag to the report, it goes to WP:UAA/HP for a week or more, and must then be reviewed again to see if the account has since become active before removing it. That's time that could be spent doing more productive things, but you basically obligate admins to do it by making such reports. Beeblebrox (talk) 00:35, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- By the same token, generally it is not a good use of your time to be welcoming users with no edits. The community has repeatedly rejected the idea of any sort of automatic welcoming before a single edit is made. Beeblebrox (talk) 00:37, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
Speedy deletion contested: Draft:La Mirada Punks
Hello Susmuffin. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Draft:La Mirada Punks, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not promotional at all. The article makes it clear that the gang is a group of criminals. Thank you. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 05:29, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
User talk pages
Hello. I noticed you restored content to Dr.Koo's talk page with this edit. This is not generally done. Please take a few minutes to read WP:BLANKING and WP:Don't restore removed comments. As the user is blocked, I don't know if they'll undo your edit, or even see it. I'm going to leave it alone. It's up to you to decide if you want to revert yourself; I probably would, were I in the same position. Cheers, BlackcurrantTea (talk) 12:45, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
Speedy deletion contested: User:Mohammad Aziz bin shafi ur rahman
Hello Susmuffin, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of User:Mohammad Aziz bin shafi ur rahman, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguously promotional. Your signature
Please amend your custom signature so that is is clear who it belongs to, i.e. it should include your username. Thank you. —DoRD (talk) 11:52, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Susmuffin: I note you have edited plenty since DoRD left you this request. To clarify, this is per the username policy:
A customised signature should make it easy to identify the username, to visit the user's talk-page, and preferably user page
and areto identify you as a contributor. If your signature is unnecessarily confusing, editors may request that you change it
; please note thatsignatures that link to, but do not display, the user's username (for example by signing with a nickname, as in User:Nickname or Nickname) can be confusing for editors (particularly newcomers). The actual username always appears in the page history, so using just the nickname on the relevant talk page can make your signed comments appear to be from a different person
, which I think just about covers it. Many thanks, —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 18:21, 26 June 2018 (UTC)

Hello. Your recent edit to National University of Distance Education appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Your edit did not provide references to reliable sources to establish notability and status as an academic associated with the university. It is often less work to create the article first, then add the name to the list. Gab4gab (talk) 00:18, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Napa Valley Unified School District
Hello Susmuffin. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Napa Valley Unified School District, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: School districts have near-inherent notability per WP:GEOLAND, and educational institutions are exempt from A7. Thank you. Mz7 (talk) 23:58, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit that you made to User talk:46.189.28.247 has been reverted or removed because it was a misuse of a warning or blocking template. I tried one link, https://www.xenu.net/archive/books/bfm/bfm09.htm and it "refused to connect". It works as http://www.xenu.net/archive/books/bfm/bfm09.htm So rather than testing all of them, I undid the whole shebang. I see that user:KolbertBot paid the article a visit in June 2018, so I don't think many if any of the links should be made https. Please be more careful. UAA reports on users with no edits
You speedily archived my message last time I posted here, which is generally taken as a sign that you read and understood it.[1] If that’s not the case please review it again, and maybe take another look at WP:UAAI as a decent number of your UAA reports get declined. - Susmuffin, did you have these same issues with your previous account(s)? Overzealous patrolling, minimal or no response to editors who raise concerns regarding your edits...that sort of thing? --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:33, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
- I have not used a another account to patrol, if that is what you are asking. No, I do not have a sockpuppet. ―Susmuffin Talk 19:43, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
- It's absolutely clear that this is not your first account, what I'm wondering is if you had the same problems with your previous accounts that ended up in a block (making this block evasion), or if this is veering towards a failed clean start.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:45, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
- I did have another account that was last used in 2009, when I was 11 years old. I was never blocked and never made use of the clean start option, if that existed then. Honestly, I barely remember that I even had the account in the first place. If it would help, I can give you a link to the account's userpage. ―Susmuffin Talk 20:18, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
- In my 11+ years on this site, as an admin and checkuser, I have never seen a legitimate new account make this as their third edit, less than an hour after creating their account. Question
What do you think about removing webcomics from arts in vital article list? Polandball is enaugh vital in your opinion? Dawid2009 (talk) 18:22, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
- I would avoid making any large removals from the Level 5 list at this point, as it is far from being completed. Also, I would categorise webcomics as a form of art. ―Susmuffin Talk 02:20, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
- I agree that webcomics are form of art but we do not have listed Hetalia: Axis Powers which is much more vital webcomic than webcomics which are currently listed. I also mentioned Slender Man in disscussion due to fact that Crazy Frog and Slender Man clearly are more vital Internet phenomena than Polandball and at least on the same level what Hatsune Miku which is listed. We also need to remember that Deutch Wikipedia which has very rigorous deletionism for fictional creatures does not have articles about listed creatures such like Harry Potter (character), Darth Vader and has articles about Crazy Frog and Slender Man, so disscussion about including these creatures really would be valuable. Anyway if you still disagree that Slender Man and Crazy Frog can not be listed we can add other concept such like Pinocchio, Christmas elf, The Gingerbread Man but in this case creatures which are not described in German Wikipedia in my opinion also should be definietly removed
- In my opinion we also should create new secion at social sciences about: Media franchises. Because we have currently various media franchises in diffrent places listed. At fictional characters Flash and Green Lantern do not fit to this section.
- In my opionion we also should add to mythological creatures new section which would be titled: specific mythological creatures. And under this section subtitles: general (for creatures such like Wandering Jew currently listed at fiction and Tooth fairy currently listed at myths/religion), paranormal (for example for UFO which is not listed) ald cryptides (for Yeti, Big foot etc.)
- I am also not sure Don Juan and Roland are fictional characters. There were some time ago disscussion about this type creatures. Anyway it seems to me that they are historical creatures near at the same level what Saint Nicholas and Blackbeard.

Hello, I'm Peaceray. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you unlinked one or more redlinks from Giacomo Casanova. Often redlinks can be helpful, so we don't remove them just because they are red. They help improve Wikipedia by attracting editors to create needed articles.
In addition, clicking on the "What links here" special link (in the Wikipedia Toolbox at left) on a missing article shows how many—and which—articles depend on that article being created. This can help prioritize article creation. Redlinks are useful! Please, only remove a redlink if you are pretty sure that it is to a non-notable topic and not likely ever to be created. Thanks! - The Wikimedia wikis use templates to show readers there are problems with the content on some pages. For example if there are no sources or the page needs to be rewritten. The mobile website will soon show more information when you use these templates. Some templates may need to be updated. [25]
- The Education Program extension was removed from all Wikimedia projects. The database tables used by the extension will be archived. This will happen in a month. If you want the information on your wiki you should move it to a normal wiki page. [26]

ArbCom 2018 election voter message
Hello, Susmuffin. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

- On wikis with translatable pages you could create a mess when you moved a page that had translatable subpages. A subpage is when you use
/
to create a new page:/wiki/Page/Subpage
. The subpages would be moved but not the translations. The subpages are no longer automatically be moved. This is to make it safer to move pages. [27]
Changes later this week
- The advanced search interface will be available by default on all Wikimedia wikis. It makes it easier to use some of the special search functions that most editors don't know exist. It's already active on German, Farsi, Arabic and Hungarian Wikipedia. [28]
- Special:UnusedCategories show empty categories with no files or other categories. You can soon choose to not show soft redirect categories or some maintenance categories there. You can do this with the magic word

Recent changes
- Admins will not be able to unblock themselves if they are blocked by someone other than themselves. This is because it can cause damage if someone else takes over an admin account and other admins can't block them. If this is a problem for your community you can report it on Phabricator. You can also ask questions on Meta. There is a discussion on Phabricator about how to solve this if two admins fight with each other on a small wiki. [31]
- Small SVG images are now bigger when you see them in MediaViewer. [32]
- You can go to a section from the edit summary by clicking on the section name. Before this you had to click on the arrow. [33]
- When you jumped to a footnote that was referenced several times in an article it could be difficult to see where you were in the text. Now there are jump marks and highlights to help you find your way back. [34][35]

- New accounts will need passwords that are at least 8 characters long. Admins, interface admins, bureaucrats, oversighters, CentralNotice admins, global renamers, check users, stewards and some other user groups will need passwords that are at least 10 characters long. This is because an attacker could cause damage to the wikis if they took over these accounts. [36][37]
- When you hover over a footnote it will show you the reference as a pop-up. This is so you don't have to jump down to the bottom of the page to see a reference. This will happen in 2019. Some wikis already have gadgets that do this. You will be able to turn it off. [38]

Recent changes
- Some templates that show notices about the content of the page will now be shown on the mobile website. In many cases they were hidden before. [39][40]
- Admins can no longer unblock themselves, except for self-blocks. A blocked admin can block the user who blocked them but no one else. This is so no one can block all admins on a wiki without being stopped. [41]
The ParserMigration extension has been removed. It compared the result of two versions of the MediaWiki wikitext parsing pipeline. It was used when we moved to the Remex parsing library instead of Tidy.
Problems
<ref>
tags can use parameters such as "name" or "group". For example<ref name="adams" group="books">
. If a<ref>
tag has more than two parameters all parameters are ignored. You don't get a warning that they don't work. This will soon be fixed. [42]

Recent changes
- RelatedSites extension has been undeployed. It was used to create interwiki links on Wikivoyage, now handled by Wikidata. [44]
MediaWiki logstash logging is moving to a new infrastructure. This is an ongoing deployment. [45]
codesearch.wmflabs.org has been updated, with new and updated repositories and a new search options for code. [46]
On several wikis, an account named "Edit filter" has been created on December 17 to perform some technical maintenance on AbuseFilter. This account has sysop rights but it's a system user and no human can use it. The account already existed on wikis where AbuseFilter can perform blocks, which are issued using this account. See T212268 for more information and future plans.
Problems
In AbuseFilter, the "Throttle" action takes three parameters: count, period and groups. They must now strictly respect the requirements listed on mediawiki.org. A list of broken filters is on Phabricator. If you're familiar with AbuseFilter, please take a look and fix them. [47]

Recent changes
- You can now use Google Translate in the content translation tool. [48][49]
- You can now add captions to files on Commons. Captions are short descriptions of the file. They can be translated to all languages we use. They can't use wikitext markup.
- Earlier a quoted HTML attribute had to be followed by a space. Now it doesn't. This means that some pages could look different when you save them even if you didn't edit that part of the text. [50][51]
Templates with <templatestyles> could not show the difference between the live template and the sandbox version when they were tested. This has now been fixed. <templatestyles> has a new
wrapper
parameter now. You can use it for selectors like.mw-parser-output <wrapper parameter value> <selector from CSS page>
. [52]
Problems
- When you see an edit in the recent changes feed or in the history of a page some of them have tags. Some tags are added automatically. You can also add tags manually. Tags for edits that have been added manually can be edited. This didn't work for a little while. This has now been fixed. [53]
Changes later this week
- You can move files from your wiki to Wikimedia Commons and keep the file history with the new FileExporter. It will be a beta feature on all wikis from 16 January. If you want to test it you activate it and check your wiki's configuration file.
- Users who could cause more damage to the wikis if someone took over their account have to have more secure passwords. This includes administrators and other user groups. They can't use passwords that are in a list of common passwords. Accounts with common passwords are easy to take over. The list of common passwords was made longer a few weeks ago and has a different error message. Some user groups have been added to those who can't use common passwords. This is to protect all accounts with user rights that could cause damage. [54]
The AbuseFilter variable
minor_edit
has been removed. It was deprecated in 2016. Now you can't use it. You can fix the filters using it. You can find them if you use the search bar on Special:AbuseFilter. The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from January 15

Table code formatting
Hi! Of the many Dispenser edits you made recently, I noticed this one, which edited the page's table to have a |-
placed directly before the table's headers. To me, this appears rather uncommon, and it didn't really change anything visibly, but is this the proper code formatting for tables? Regards. Lordtobi (✉) 09:34, 19 January 2019 (UTC)
- Help:Table seems to suggest that a
|-
is produced before the! header
when one selects "Insert a table." That is probably why Dispenser does this. I have tested this, and the results contradict Help:Table. Furthermore, the Manual of Style suggests that a|-
is put before the! header
. I have no idea why the guides contradict with what "Insert a table" does. ―Susmuffin Talk 15:57, 19 January 2019 (UTC)

on Wikipedias. - https://mediawiki2latex-large.wmflabs.org can now convert collects of up to 800 pages to PDF, EPUB or ODT. Previously this was 200 pages.
Problems
- When a template was edited with the visual editor, it would sometimes put all information on one line. This makes it difficult to read for editors who use the wikitext editor. It also makes it more difficult to see what happened in a diff. This problem affected edits made between 8 and 17 January and is now fixed. [56]
- MassMessage is used to post a message to many pages. It has not been working reliably. Some messages have not been posted to everyone. [57][58]

So totally not trying to vandalize my great-grandfather’s page or anything. I see deadlink and all I was trying to do is update the link with the reference link at the bottom of the page, which is not a dead link, the website page moved, so I can share for Black History Month. Bearsden Choir.
I understood Wikipedia should not be taken as fully reliable as anyone can change it. I therefore was not looking for rules, and didn't notice anything in particular. I have been a member of Bearsden Choir since 1981 and was aware that some of the info already given was not completely accurate, and also of course , Andrew Nunn has been our Conductor since 2014. I do like things to be accurate, however, I just did it because it was possible at the time, I do not have time to read up, or give citations.
It will therefore have to remain absolutely out of date !!

re: Recent edit to Adult adoption
Hi Susmuffin,
I changed "children" to "minor children" to better summarize the law to which it referred: The Adoption and Children Act (2002) states, "An application for an adoption order may only be made if the person to be adopted has not attained the age of 18 years on the date of the application."
The unedited statement was: "In the United Kingdom, only children may be adopted." Since all persons who had parents are children, saying "only children may be adopted" strikes me as tantamount to the trivial statement that "only persons may be adopted". However, that would include adult children as well and the statement would contradict the law it refers to. Consequently, I made the modification.
Perhaps the article should simply say "In the United Kingdom, only minors may be adopted" or adult adoption is not allowed in the United Kingdom. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.164.76.199 (talk) 08:15, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

- The context makes it clear that "children" refers to people who are under the age of majority. However, I would not object to the replacement of "children" with "minors," as they are synonyms. ―Susmuffin Talk 03:52, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
Talk to us about talking

The Wikimedia Foundation is planning a global consultation about communication. The goal is to bring Wikimedians and wiki-minded people together to improve tools for communication.
We want all contributors to be able to talk to each other on the wikis, whatever their experience, their skills or their devices.
We are looking for input from as many different parts of the Wikimedia community as possible. It will come from multiple projects, in multiple languages, and with multiple perspectives.
We are currently planning the consultation. We need your help.
We need volunteers to help talk to their communities or user groups.
You can help by hosting a discussion at your wiki. Here's what to do:
- First, sign up your group here.
- Next, create a page (or a section on a Village pump, or an e-mail thread – whatever is natural for your group) to collect information from other people in your group. This is not a vote or decision-making discussion: we are just collecting feedback.
- Then ask people what they think about communication processes. We want to hear stories and other information about how people communicate with each other on and off wiki. Please consider asking these five questions:
- When you want to discuss a topic with your community, what tools work for you, and what problems block you?
- What about talk pages works for newcomers, and what blocks them?
- What do others struggle with in your community about talk pages?
- What do you wish you could do on talk pages, but can't due to the technical limitations?
- What are the important aspects of a "wiki discussion"?
- Finally, please go to Talk pages consultation 2019 on Mediawiki.org and report what you learned from your group. Please include links if the discussion is available to the public.
You can also help build the list of the many different ways people talk to each other.
Not all groups active on wikis or around wikis use the same way to discuss things: it can happen on wiki, on social networks, through external tools... Tell us how your group communicates.
You can read more about the overall process on mediawiki.org. If you have questions or ideas, you can leave feedback about the consultation process in the language you prefer.
Thank you! We're looking forward to talking with you.

Recent changes
- Pages can use geocoordinates from Wikidata with the

Lua function or the#statements
parser function. If they do, they will now be shown using a Kartographer<maplink>
if the wiki can use Kartographer. You can report bugs or ask questions on Phabricator. - There is now an EventStream to see when links are added or removed on Wikimedia wikis. You can read the discussions and plans.
Problems
- Some wikis will not be able to edit for a short period of time on 19 March (UTC). This will start at 15:00 UTC. It will last up to 15 minutes but probably shorter. You can see the list of affected wikis. This is because of network maintenance. You can still read the wikis.
- Editors who use Firefox to edit with the visual editor had a problem with copying text. When they tried to select text that included footnotes, templates or block images in the middle they would often only get part of the text. This has now been fixed. [69]
- Some maps didn't work for a while on 8 March. This has been fixed. [70][71]

Nationalism
Regarding edit on nationalism page, that wrongly stated that annexation of Crimea by Russian Federation in 2014 was driven by Nationalism. "...More recently, nationalism was an important driver of the controversial annexation of Crimea by Russia..."
First of all, the annexation of territory of another country was an illegal act, as a result of occupation. So no controversy here, but obvious disregard of international law.
Secondly, Russian Federation is trying to resurrect Soviet Union, and there was nothing nationalistic about Soviet Union.
Thirdly, the only nationalism would be possible in Crimea would be nationalism of Crimean Tatars if they were trying to create national state. Annexation by Russian Federation is dictated by totally different drive - imperialism. Russian Federation itself, as a federation of Buryats, Bashkors, Komi, Sakha, Tuva, Dagestan,... and many others, that can only function by offering its subjects foremost imperialistic but not nationalistic ideas. And the occupation of Crimea is a clear result of such imperialistic tendencies in politics of Russian Federation.

The Guardian: Putin’s desire for a new Russian empire won’t stop with Ukraine [3]

We thank you both for your contributions to Wikipedia at-large and your use of the tool. We hope you continue your ascent up the leaderboard and stay in touch at the talk page. Thank you and keep up the good work! West.andrew.g (talk) 13:38, 14 March 2019 (UTC) |
Archiving
Hi Susmuffin, as a matter of interest, why did you change one archive to another at the Holocaust? I sometimes use archive.is because the Internet Archive is often slow to load, and for a few days recently I wasn't able to load it at all. I don't mind which one is used, but I wondered whether you're aware of some reason archive.is ought to be replaced. SarahSV (talk) 18:41, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I only glanced at the change before leaving this. You didn't add the Internet Archive but expanded the URL. Is it better to use the long URLs than the short ones? SarahSV (talk) 18:47, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
- Apologies, "Fix dead links" did that on its own. Looking at the two links, the shortened one does load slightly faster. ―Susmuffin Talk 19:12, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
- No worries. I see editors do this quite a lot (rmv archive.is, or change the URL), so I was wondering whether there was a problem with it or whether the script's default is to remove those links. I suppose I should start by looking at why the script treats them as dead links. Thank you. SarahSV (talk) 01:44, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
- Apologies, "Fix dead links" did that on its own. Looking at the two links, the shortened one does load slightly faster. ―Susmuffin Talk 19:12, 14 March 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for your message. You have removed a citation from the above article and yet you have asked me to explain why this might be a problem. I'm a bit puzzled. Perhaps you would be kind enough to explain your reason for removing the citation. 82.27.90.157 (talk) 12:14, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

- The Re-evaluation of Human Values is a central concept (prophecy) in Nietzsche's philosophy and can be found discussed in a number of his works. It concerns a hypothetical period of history that corresponds with what we today call post-modernity. Ecce Homo is only one such work - albeit a very important one - where the concept is discussed. 82.27.90.157 (talk) 13:20, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

My edits were relevant considering that the party/faction JKLF is a terrorist group. It has killed both soldiers & innocent civilians of my country, including women & children. It is relevant edit to call it a terrorist group. Furthermore, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen is a Pakistani terrorist group as designated by the US, EU, & India. There is not a shadow of a doubt when I edit an article calling them terrorists.

- The editing toolbar sometimes disappears when you scroll on iOS devices. This will be fixed soon. [77]
- Wikis can over-ride interface messages on-wiki. A problem meant that sometimes an old versions of any changed messages were shown instead. Lyles, TN photographs
Thanks for your patience as I learn to use Wikipedia!
Most, if not all pictures, that I've seen on Wikipedia have been of high quality. Is there ever a time to use old, lesser quality photos from early 1900's in an article? I have seen an old photo of Lyell Station and a photo of a steam engine passing through Lyles. I couldn't find anything in The Tea Room about this topic. I don't want to contact the ladies who possess these if it is unlikely they could be used.

Regarding my edit in Wikipedia page.
That Pollard incident in his Wikipedia page is nice. But what I said or added is not nice ?. Do you follow cricket?. I follow it closely. What I said was correct and it can be added in his Wikipedia page. Shankraj914 (talk) 18:52, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

“Final warning” level for first unconstructive edt
Hi Susmuffin, I saw that you gave an IP editor a final warning for vandalism despite it being their first edit. Was there anything in particular about the edit that warranted such a response? I’m just hoping you can explain. Thanks, Creamynaus (talk) 23:40, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

Recent changes
- The report for phase 1 of the talk pages consultation 2019 has been published. Communities are invited to start phase 2 of the consultation on their wikis.
Problems
- File descriptions for files from Commons were not shown properly on other Wikimedia wikis for a few days. For example the image descriptions and license information were missing. This has now been fixed. [106][107]
- Some diffs show an error message when you try to see them. The developers are working on fixing it. It could be because of some edit comments. [108][109]
Changes later this week
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 21 May. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 22 May. It will be on all wikis from 23 May (calendar).
Meetings
You can join the technical advice meeting on IRC. During the meeting, volunteer developers can ask for advice. The meeting will be on 22 May at 15:00 (UTC). See how to join.
Future changes
- The content translation tool on Wikipedia can use machine translations. There is a system to stop translations where the editors do not fix machine translation mistakes. This warns or stops them if they seem to just copy what the machine translation gives them. If this system is too strict or not strict enough you can tell the language team. [110]
The Wikidata
wbeditentity
API endpoint will remove all aliases if the request includes an empty alias. This is how it supposed to work. It has not been working this way because of a bug. This will start on 12 June. [111]

Mixed Gender Hurling
Thanks for the 'heads-up'. Agreed that the page 'looked' better previously, I should have been more succinct. I guess the page now gives the impression that something (Mixed Gender) exists which does not exist, in reality? Or, perhaps I've mis-understood what Wiki categorises as a 'Mixed Gender' sport? Let's work this out, together and build a better page for Hurling (and for Wiki!) Kind Regards. Sean

Hello sir, I am zoologist d.roy. I just want to tell you that if anyone just removes a correct and perfect edit without considering its ture value, it will never be a great thing. In zoology human is also the part of study including all animals left on the planet. Many people think and say that zoology does not include humans. So as a zoologist I just included the term humans in its study fields. So, I think it was a correct edit. I also respect your work, but how can it be a wrong edit. Anyway, thank you very much for your support.

code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Snowycats (talk) 17:42, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

Recent changes
- You can now write all special letters in all African Wikipedia languages. This works in the desktop version. [114]
- There is now a field called
depicts
on Commons. This is a way to show what is in a picture with the help of Wikidata. It is still in development. [115] - Some tools on Toolforge may break on or after 3 June because of database changes. Maintainers should update their tools to use the new schema. [116][117]
Problems
- You will be able to read but not to edit Wikimedia Commons for 30 minutes on 19 June at 05:00 (UTC). This is to fix a hardware problem. [118]
Changes later this week
- Some wikis have one tab for the visual editor and one tab for a wikitext editor. Others wikis just have one tab. If your wiki has two tabs, clicking a link to create a new page has always opened a wikitext editor. It will now open the editor you used the last time you edited. [119]
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 4 May. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 5 May. It will be on all wikis from 6 May (calendar).

Recent changes
- When you create a PDF from a page on the wiki this is now done by Proton. Before this we used Electron. It should look the same but work better. Both use Chromium. This is a different system from when you collect several articles into a book and make a PDF from them. [120][121]
- The Flagged Revisions extension now uses the standard OOUI icons. There will be additional minor fixes for positioning in the next deployment. [122]
Bots and other scripts that do not set an identifiable User-Agent may find their requests strictly rate-limited until they identify themselves properly. [123]
Problems
- Please check if the Flagged Revisions configuration on your wiki is as you expect (or as it was a few weeks ago). If not, please report it. [124]
Changes later this week
- There is no new MediaWiki version this week.

Hello, I am not sure why you think the article was better before or what measurement you are using to determine whether an article is good or not. The current article is in complete and outdated. I am new to updating wikipedia pages and everything is very foreign to me. The bio needs to be updated and Nephew Tommy himself requested that I update the image. Any insight or direction would be greatly appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fortheartllc (talk • contribs) 15:43, 13 June 2019 (UTC)

. Lateroverride_midi
andoverride_audio
will stop working. Instead you will need to add the MIDI file below the music score. [126] - A new video player will soon replace the old one. You will be able to enable it as a beta feature in your preferences. It will later be enabled for everyone if there are no big problems. [127]
