"Liberal"

Hey Soman, perhaps you can have a look at this revert, and the other edits by that editor. My edit summary was cut short--I objected also to FAIR being calling far-left, the political characterization of newspapers, etc. Their other edits to articles on such organization seem to have the main purpose of adding "liberal" to the lead. I thought that's something that we didn't do, though I saw that American Enterprise Institute has "conservative" in the opening sentence. Anyway, this is not my forte, and you're the only one I can think of right now with a political interest. Also, happy new year. May all our incomes be equal in 2013, but I'd like to hold on to the right to property for a while (I just got a new countertop for the kitchen island). Drmies (talk) 04:08, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

I think your revert makes sense. The "liberal" tag is already repeated ad nausea in the article, including clear mentions in the lede. A mention in the first sentence is somewhat missleading, as the term "liberal" is used very, very differently in the US than in the rest of the world. --Soman (talk) 07:07, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Random acts of finding article subjects

Hi, I just wanted to leave a comment after being thrilled at finding someone who has a similar philosophy on editing to me, which I think you are the first I ever discovered. I noticed from your user page that you enjoy finding some things out the random way, as do I; found your page by hitting the random article link which led me to an article you created – Sindicato Obrero Canario. Your method of using Google books with random words is really neat. I mostly edit plant related articles (strictly as an amateur), but rather randomly, as I find the minute diversity between the species to be endlessly fascinating (it doesn't matter what the plant is, all are equally interesting to me). Yet plants species are often overlooked by people (animals have a lock on species interest for most, I think). Anyway, should you ever be interested in writing any of the millions of plant articles still yet to be written, you would find the investigation part as satisfyingly challenging as the subjects of human history you usually work on. In fact, they often do involve human history. As for an interest in botany, maybe not — or maybe so... Best wishes, and keep on meandering to the beat of a different drummer.
