Wikipedia is not at risk of shutting down, and the Wikimedia Foundation, which hosts the Wikipedia platform and is asking for these donations, is richer than ever. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. Barack Obama

Our text should arise as a summary of the reliable sources, rather than editors first deciding what they want to say and then looking for sources. Agricolae

I am open to recall, using Whpq's wording from their RfA:
"if editors I trust and respect are telling me I should not be an admin, then I would voluntarily resign as an administrator."

September music[edit]

September songs
my story today

Our festival's last concert was most moving and inspiring, - also the story of Walter Arlen, - today I'm proud that I survived the decision in WP:ARBINFOBOX for 10 years, standing and singing -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:23, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Today's story is about a great pianist with an unusual career, taking off when he was 50. It's the wedding anniversary of Clara and Robert Schumann, but I was too late with our gift. Just for fun: when do you think did Mrs. and Mr. Schumann get their infoboxes, and by whom? (The answer can be found here, but please think first.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:10, 12 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Today I remember Raymond Arritt, who still helps me, five years after he died, per what he said in my darkest time on Wikipedia (placed in my edit-notice as a reminder), and by teh rulez. - Latest pics from a weekend in Berlin (one more day to come). - I saw that you retired from arbcom, - happy retirement! What did you see about the Schumanns? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:02, 19 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yes, thanks Gerda, even though I am still on the Committee until the end of the year (and perhaps a bit longer if a case opens and carries over), I do feel somewhat unburdened and happier. I may get back to editing and reviewing at some point! SilkTork (talk) 09:10, 21 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That sounds good! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:31, 21 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Re. CV and privacy[edit]

Hi, I don't know whether you want to get this talk page thread revdeled. It spills the beans. Regards, Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 14:24, 15 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I agree with you, though that information has already been shared on the AN thread which led to the ArbCom case request. That information is available on many places on the internet. That is a significant part of the issue. And as long as there is a CV editing Wikipedia attracting attention there will be people who are able to make the connection. Rutherford[edit]

Please address an unregistered user in Talk:Ernest Rutherford who is engaging in edit wars and violating WP:CIV. Doughbo (talk) 06:10, 16 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I've looked. They appear to be putting forward legitimate concerns. I see no edit warring on the article - they are confining their concerns to the talkpage, which is the appropriate thing to do. I can see that things are getting a bit tetchy, but that is understandable when they are faced with accusations of being Islamophobic. Concentrate on the content not the contributor please. The nearest I can find to edit warring is where they have twice removed a resolved template because they feel the matter has not yet been resolved because the sources are not clear or reliable enough. SilkTork (talk) 11:10, 16 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thank you. I was confused by their phrasing and I thought it best to seek help rather than engage. I appreciate your attention. Doughbo (talk) 03:27, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Admin's Barnstar
For your long years of service, especially on Arb Com. Ad Orientem (talk) 18:04, 19 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I'll second this.
I saw your initial post and was looking at barnstars, and it just felt like there just isn't a barnstar good enough, appropriate enough.
Anyway, I wish you and yours all the best for your future : ) - jc37 00:32, 20 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thankyou Ad Orientem and jc37, I do like barnstars, I feel we should use them more often. SilkTork (talk) 09:07, 21 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
