Michelle Hinn

Hi again,

There have been several independent sources about Michelle Hinn including the the gaming magazine. The gaming magazine was a list and everyone on the list had a paragraph about them but they were not placed in any nummerical order. I realize that this is about the same issue but [this article http://www.lis.uiuc.edu/oc/news/displaynews.html?source=y2vK4.iJRv-rvWinwbnhgQ==&year=hTs0L3zJE5-LUovrFiob9w==] does tell more of the story than the gaming magazine. There's also [another source http://www.igda.org/community/volunteer_mvp.php] mentioning the IGDA most valuable player 2006 award, which is not on the same "top 100" topic. A newpaper in Illinois ran a full page article on her work last year but unfortunately that is not available online. There are a few interviews -- one online at videoludica and several in books that are in publication.

If that's not enough for now, that's fine. But there's just a handful of people involved with making mainstream games accessible and it's a movement that growing in strength and none of those people seem to be ok to be on wikipedia. I think that the lack of articles written on the people involved and what they are doing to advocate in this area points to skewed values in the way we view social justice for people with disabilities. (sorry that was just a rant in general). I don't know I just thought it was enough information.

From Vrgrrl: Yes, you are right, Michelle Hinn is me. :) I wasn't trying to be tricky -- just new to the wikipedia system. I just replied to the mediation request with this:

Hi -- I got your mediation note on wikipedia about a short bio I put up about myself. I didnt know that I could create a user bio page -- that would be ok with me if it's not appropriate for me to have a regular wikipedia page. I work with the person who started the game accessibility page and thought it would be nice to have some info about those of us in the area so that people could contact us. But perhaps that would be better to put directly on the game accessibility page in shorter form?

Anyway, I hope that I haven't caused a big nuisance! I really do understand what you are saying and I want to do what's best for the community. Cool that you're interested in game accessibility! We're doing a lot at this years Game Developers Conference so I'm excited! :)

Ashanti

Thanks, I'm new to this, so I'm not sure exactly how to send you a message. I'm trying to bring relevant information about the Ashanti's together. I've done a good bit of research so I should references up soon. Also, I'm trying to combine (and expand) Ashanti confederacy and Ashanti People articles and I'm afraid 'The Ashantis' article may run into trouble by patrol before I'm completely finished with it.

Velocity Micro

Thank you for your recommendation on my talk page about why my entry is deleted. You mention that the company may not be notable, but its won over 30 awards from Cnet, PC Magazine, PCGamer, and other computer publications. I dont know why Velocity Micro is not allowed to have a page when Alienware, Falcon Northwest, Voodoo PC, WidowPC etc all get to have the same exact kind of page? How can I make it better? A few weeks back A7 was expanded to include websites (see Template:db-web) so prodding/afding non-notable websites is no longer needed as they can be speedied. –– Lid^(Talk) 05:55, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Elia Zenghelis

Hi there. I was somewhat surprised that within seconds of coining the page for Greek architect Elia Zenghelis, you prposed that it should be deleted! I assume that "nn architect" means that you feel that the information contained within it already exists elsewhere. My point in coining the page is that a group of architects that formed a joint office -OMA, Rem Koolhaas and Elia Zenghelis have since gone their separate ways. Should the page for Rem Koolhaas also be deleted and incorporated within OMA? Certianly not! I guess I will have to add more to the Zenghelis page - but certainly there is alsready stuff there - his new partnership - that is to be found no where else! But if there is one page I would recommend deleting it is S,M,L,XL, which is a book by Koolhaas. The book is summarised within the Koolhaas page, and there is nothing in the S,M,L,XL page of any value. The Koolhaas page had been in a bit of a mess, and so yesterday I re-wrote it. Dusit Thani College

Hi. Thanks for letting me know about the Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion. This is my first time getting that. But I really don't think the article should be deleted for that reason. I explained why I wrote it the why I did here Talk:Dusit_Thani_College. And I fixed a part of the article to make it sound more objective. Can you check it again? I'd really appreciate if you would. Hi again. Thanks for the reply. I agree with what you said that citation of a third-party would make the article sound more credible. But I did some checks on other random university and college articles in random countries (Germany, Argentina, India, etc.) and I found out that the majority of them (about 80%) don't have any third-party citations at all and the only websites they provide are the university websites. So if the criteria you suggested are to be strictly applied, wouldn't most articles about universities and colleges around the world have to be deleted also? Maybe it's more realistic to consider the third-party citation an extremely nice addition but not a requirement, especially when the article was just a plain description of the college, not a review or mentioning any controversies.

And I think you put that notice for deletion at the first place because the article was deemed "blatant advertisement" Now I that fixed it and it's just a plain description of a college, just like most other Thai college articles, the notice should be removed. Speedy deletion...

Hello Seraphimblade, I just read your messages, and wish to apologize - I'm new to Wikipedia, and I think I've been doing a mess with the articles I wanted to write...

I read Wikipedia's editing policies carefully, and I can understand why some articles I wrote are now candidates for speedy deletion... But what's wrong with the article about DyLogic? I modified some parts of it and removed all the links, except the one redirecting to the company's homepage - but I noticed that there are articles about similar companies with a comparable structure that have not been deleted...

Do you have any suggestions for fixing the article?

New sources for DyLogic

I added some new sources - mainly on-line articles from editorially-controlled, renowned websites dealing with the 3G world. I hope it's enough - I also found articles about DyLogic on some magazines/newspapers, but they're all from Italy and less recent. Do you think I can also add some generical information about the product lines in the same page? Thanks again for your support!
