==2016–17 East Bengal F.C. season references]] Hi, SabyaC, how about adding in some sourses, for the article. scope_creep (talk) 11:20, 2 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information on players and clubs in I-League[edit]

Hi. I really liked the way your page, 2017-18 East Bengal F.C. season is being maintained. I have a small doubt on how you are maintaining the page and hope you would help me in that. I am trying to manage 2017-18 Aizawl F.C. season and 2017-18 Indian Arrows season. My doubt is that how did you manage to get most of the player information and the information about the matches played in Calcultta Premier League? Aizawl FC also played in similar level league, Mizoram Premier League but I couldn't get much information, especially on who started and who got booked in each match and also I have placed a very large squad in my Aizawl page and don't know exactly if many of them are still in the team or not. I can get squad from i-league website but there are some players who played for Aizawl in Mizoram Premier League but not part of i-league squad. So, I didn't remove most of the players unless I get some reference on their transfer from Aizawl to some other team. It would be very helpful if you could tell me on how did you manage to get such amount of information on East Bengal squad. Sagavaj (talk) 23:02, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sagavaj, I am a die hard East Bengal Fan and I have watched all the games, hence maintained the scoreline/player details for Calcutta Premier League. Also I have referred to East Bengal Club Website for Current squad details. East Bengal also has numerous fan clubs and they too have websites maintaining minute details of every match, hence could manage and maintain the details. For Aizawl FC I guess, they too might have details about their players in their official website. Also, you too are doing a great job maintaining the Indian football Wikipedia webpages. Keep up! SabyaC (talk) 12:45, 4 February 2018 (IST)

I dunno about East Bengal website but Aizawl website was not maintained properly. They didn't even update scores for matches played in this year yet. I don't know if there are any fan clubs. Most importantly, I was the only one updating the above mentioned page. I currently live in US and just started this page as small interest and thought once the page was created, some fans might start editing the page but didn't have any luck yet with season's almost coming to its business end. How to find any fan club, if there is any, so anyone from fan club can maintain wiki page much better than me. Sagavaj (talk) 05:24, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Sagavaj, I guess you can check Facebook or Twitter for Aizawl FC Fan Pages and Groups, they have a core fans group, they will be able to provide you with all details. I have ideas about East Bengal and Mohun Bagan, since I am from Kolkata. SabyaC (talk) 18:48, 12 February 2018 (IST)

Not a GA review (since I contributed significantly here, I can't review this officially), but a rough review of the article, based on my experience of some GA nominations and reviews. This article will get quick failed because-

  1. Its not complete yet. Better not to nominate it before season ends officially. Then compiling all the things into the article.
  2. It has MoS issues. Like insufficient lead, single sentence paras, duplinks etc.
  3. The prose needs to be reworked. This will be done after completion, then requesting at WP:GOCE.

Notice

The article List of SC East Bengal wins against Foreign teams has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The article fails WP:LISTN as the group of matches haven't been talked about together.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Question regarding a specific section on the series of SC East Bengal seasons[edit]

Hey mate! Hope you're having a great day. I having a question regarding a section in some seasonal articles of SC East Bengal. I'm asking you this because you have created a numerous number of articles in this group. So, I would like to take the article, 2009–10 East Bengal F.C. season as an example (You're also it's creator). My doubt is, from where you got the details to fill the 'Statistics' section in the article? There is no source provided in there. Is it reliable? I'm working on the article of Harmanjot Khabra, and I would like to correct his stats with East Bengal, as there are no information regarding his appearances and goals for the club between 2009–10 and 2011–12 season. Waiting for your response. Best wishes. Ken Tony Shall we discuss? 14:35, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, sorry to say but there are no sources available. I personally kept tabs for the appearances and goals for East Bengal seasons since 2005 on my personal sheet. -SabyaC (talk) 14:39, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I just wanted to confirm that the given information is completely true. As I couldn't see a source to verify, I decided to ask about them to the creator. That's all. You have more experience than me in this field, so I believe your comment. All the best for your future project, and thank you! Ken Tony Shall we discuss? 16:56, 31 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Drafts that have not been edited for six months may be deleted, so if you wish to retain the page, please edit it again or request that it be moved to your userspace.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Surajit Sengupta requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.the-aiff.com/article/aiff-condoles-surajit-senguptas-death. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Information icon Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to List of foreign players for East Bengal Club. Thanks ZI Jony for the Barnstar. It is always fun to participate in the WAM contest every year. I have been participating in the WAM since 2019, and even though I had received the WAM postcards for 2019 and 2020, I did not receive the same for 2021 (both digital and physical) which I was eligible for. I did mail to info@asianmonth.wiki but received no proper reply regarding that. Anyway, thanks again for the award this time, also as I am the Wikipedia Asia Ambassador, I am eligible to receive a postcard and a certificate right? Hope those too will be handed out soon. Notability criteria for footballers have changed[edit]

The criteria that "Players who have appeared, and managers who have managed, in a fully-professional league will generally be regarded as notble" no more exists. This player section of this notability guidance has been superseded by WP:Notability (sports). According to this, a player has to meet WP:GNG. For that they need to have significant coverage in multiple reliable sources. Thats why I moved it to draftspace so that we could publish in mainspace when the time is right. Anyway I cannot move it back to draftspace as per our guideline. So I have taken it to AFD. Thesixserra (talk) 02:55, 30 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, 2001 Calcutta Women's Football League, is not suitable as written to remain published. While it appears to be notable, it needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. There are large sections which are wholly uncited. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. I did this rather than removing the uncited material in the article, which I felt would be more disruptive. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask on my talk page. When you have the required sourcing (and every assertion needs a source), and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. IFA Shield seasons[edit]

Would it be possible for you to create season articles for IFA Shield for 2015 season and seasons 2008 and beyond? Especially the 2005 season, 2001 and 1970 seasons.

Among all Indian football tournaments, IFA Shield has some of the least coverage in Wikipedia despite being one of the most historic and prestigious tournaments in Asia. Indian Football Fan 2018 (talk) 12:23, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Indian Football Fan 2018, there is actually very less resources available to create the entire season articles for the IFA Shield. We do have data till the 1997 season I guess from the webarchive link of Indian football . de but still very less beyond that. I will still try, although I am primarily focused mainly on East Bengal related articles (hope you understand). -SabyaC (talk) 06:13, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invite to Join Wikipedia Asian Month 2023[edit]

You are receiving this message because you participated in the Wikipedia Asian Month 2022 as an organizer or editor.

Join the Wikipedia Asian Month 2023

Dear all,

The Wikipedia Asian Month 2023[1] is coming ! The campaign start within a flexible 30 days from November to December. Following with the changes of the rules made by last year, the wish to have more people get to know Asia and Asian related topic is the same! Click "Here" to Organize/Join a WAM Event.

1. Propose "Focus Theme" related to Asia !

If you are based somewhere in Asia, or have specific passion on an Asian topic, please propose your "Focus Theme" by October 25th. The WAM international team will select 5 themes. Please propose your focus theme through this link[2].

2. Enhancing existing articles can also count as part of campaign contribution.

Any edits, including creating new articles or adding new content to existing articles, over 3000 bytes in total would be able to get a reward. Last year, due to this change of rules, the Programs & Events Dashboard was suggested. However, according to community survey of 2022, Fountain Tool is still the best platform for tracking edit and points. You don’t need to create any Dashboard. For the tracking of editing existing article, the international team is currently designing a form. Will soon publish to the main page of WAM 2023.

3. More flexible campaign time

The contribution duration would remain 30days, but we extended the overall campaign timeline to 2 months. All organizers can decide when to start their WAM as long as the whole duration is within November 1st to December 31th. It means that you can participate in WAM based on the needs of your local community.

Timetable

  • October 1st, 2023 : Publish International Campaign Page of the Year
  • October 5th to 25th, 2023 : Call for focus themes of WAM 2023.
  • Before 29 October, 2023: Complete Registration [3] of Each language Wikipedia.
  • November 1st, UTC 00:00 to December 31th, UTC 00:00, 2023: Running the Campaign. (Find your local campaign for the actual event date.)
  • January 1st to March 15th, 2024: Auditing of each language Wikipedia.
  • March 30th, 2024: Deadline of reporting statistics and eligible editors to the International Team
  • April 1st to May 15th, 2024: The international team distributes Barnstars and Certificates to eligible editors of each event.

For your information, the main page of Wikipedia Asian Month is currently undertaking a reconstruction for archiving purpose. For the 2023 event please bookmarked this page.
