Florence Chenoweth[edit]
re your removal of excessive overlinks, the MOS does not say the countries should not be linked, only that larger countries should not be linked. Thus I agree with the removal of the link to the United States and, possibly, South Africa, but can most readers be expected to know anything about Liberia or The Gambia?Roundtheworld (talk) 19:47, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- I understand that. The MOS also states: "A good question to ask yourself is whether reading the article you're about to link to would help someone understand the article you are linking from". I don't think the country links are "particularly relevant to the context in the article". Robby.is.on (talk) 20:55, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
Frantzdy Pierrot[edit]
why did you revert me? Check the facts, pierrot scored 9 goals last season in league and 5 in ucl qualifying rounds Yuvalu16 (talk) 09:43, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Yuvalu16: Hi. I'm sorry I didn't explain in my revert but I will now. Your update was incomplete: 1. you updated the number of goals but not the appearances, 2. the totals did not add up, 3. you did not update the timestamp. I have updated the numbers in this change. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 09:55, 4 July 2023 (UTC)

ITN recognition for Luis Suárez (footballer, born 1935)[edit]
On 11 July 2023, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Luis Suárez (footballer, born 1935), which you updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. SpencerT•C 20:40, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
Hello Robby! I saw this account make an edit on Lucy Bronze recently, and I wondered, did they base their username off of yours? Best, Paul Vaurie (talk) 21:56, 19 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Paul. Yes, this LTA frequently impersonates other football editors. I think it's the second time it has happened to me. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 21:58, 19 July 2023 (UTC)

Captions[edit]
What do you mean? Are you planning to remove all locations from captions?Inthefirstplace (talk) 08:29, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Inthefirstplace. What are you responding to? Robby.is.on (talk) 08:29, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- You say captions should be short, I suppose pithy. This is contrary to the whole of the site. Inthefirstplace (talk) 22:59, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
- The guideline on captions, MOS:CAPTION, which I refer to in my edit summaries, states that they "should be succinct". I think it makes sense to include locations or other relevant information when images show things that need an explanation, where the reader wonders what they are seeing. Anthony Jung[edit]
The reference clearly indicates that his mother is German, and his father is Spanish, and it was with his mother that he moved to Germany. There is an mistake in the article, here on wikipedia. Why did you revert the edit? 37.248.175.54 (talk) 21:43, 18 August 2023 (UTC) The family situation is better explained here: https://www.werder.de/en/news/news/first-team/20212022/interview-anthony-jung-22112021 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.248.175.54 (talk) 22:02, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi 37.248.175.54. I reverted because I have frequently come across edits like yours from IPs but which were inaccurate and I also misread the reference from his former club Ingolstadt 04. Thanks for the explanation. I have self-reverted and replaced the existing reference by yours as it is both newer and clearer. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 22:22, 18 August 2023 (UTC)

Wrong warning[edit]
Per this: Unfortunately there is neither a warning nor block-message template specifically for removing sourced content (unless you want to use {{uw-delete}} and {{uw-dblock}}, which are about deletion in general, and frankly maybe I should have used). At the blocking page, the menu of templated messages has one for "persistent addition of unsourced content" but not "persistent unexplained removal of reliably sourced content", one that only comes up under "other" for me because I've used it so much. Daniel Case (talk) 11:58, 23 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Daniel Case: I see. Yes, I think I've seen {{uw-delete}} being used in these cases. Thanks for addressing the issue, anyway. I was relieved I wasn't left alone with it. Happy editing, Robby.is.on (talk) 08:26, 24 August 2023 (UTC)
Jurandir (goalkeeper)[edit]
Hello, the goalkeeper Jurandir Correia do Santos was São Paulo FC player during 1934–1935, according to the club encyclopedia registers. The edit I made may have looked like some kind of vandalism, but that's correct. I added the source at this time. Svartner (talk) 09:43, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for adding the source to the article and thanks for the explanation here, @Svartner:. Any content we add or change needs to be supported by references in the article per WP:Verifiability. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 09:54, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

pseudo-headings[edit]
Hi, I wanted to thank you for this. It never fails to amaze me how many guidelines are hidden in the manual of style. One might hope that exceptions to MOS:BOLD would be referenced in that section, but this is not the first surprise like this that I've had. ~TPW 13:23, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
I took a closer look at MOS:PSEUDOHEAD, and found it a bit confusing. I did leave a question about that on the talk there about it generally, because the text appears to contradict the example. However, assuming the example is what should be used, it shows a pseudo-heading beneath a sub-section heading (or level 3), while the template you shared with me (Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Players) uses bold to create pseudo-headings after section headings (level 2). To your understanding, is that based on consensus about how to apply MOS:PSEUDOHEAD in general, or was it based on discussion among members of the wikiproject? Now that I've discovered a guideline that is new to me, I'm eager to apply it consistently. Thanks advance for your help in understanding how it works. ~TPW 13:39, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your kind message, @True Pagan Warrior:.

For footballers who have collected honours both as players and and as managers we do use level 3 headings; here's an example: Carlo Ancelotti#Honours. Does that clear things up? Robby.is.on (talk) 21:01, 21 September 2023 (UTC)- Well, at Inca (footballer) they are used after level 2 headings. Any sense as to why? ~TPW 13:36, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
- Inca has no managerial honours so no differentiation needs to be made between player and managerial honours. For consistency across articles, bold formatting is used whether or not the subject has both player and managerial honours. Robby.is.on (talk) 13:58, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
