If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Casey Christopher, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. power~enwiki (π, ν) 02:36, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Poojasharma20. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Casey Christopher, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Praxidicae (talk) 18:39, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Praxidicae, I did not responded to COI because this article was already deleted. My profession is completely different, I am a chartered accountant and work for an auditing firm which has nothing to do with making article or promotion. Its strictly not allowed in my profession. I do not promote anyone here or get pad for my work, I do it for my satisfaction. Whenever I find someone or something which I think has sufficient reliable sources to be on wikipedia, I try to create one. However I have not succeeded even once, which is unfortunate because everything is considered here is COI. So according to you whoever is creating a wikipedia here is getting paid in one way or another?Poojasharma20 (talk) 13:03, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Poojasharma20, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Shivdeep Lande have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 19:39, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Narayan Jewellers, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. If you have a conflict of interest, you must declare it. In particular, if you work directly or indirectly for the organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, if you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Poojasharma20. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Poojasharma20|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

When you write an article about a business

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company or organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
  1. significant coverage in
  2. independent,
  3. multiple,
  4. reliable,
  5. secondary sources.
Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability.
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also reply to the COI request above. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:13, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jimfbleak, Thanks for the tips about improving my wikipedia knowledge, I will follow the guidelines. I however do not think if all the moderators here are unbiased, I think they like to let new authors down. Instead of teaching them they simply tag them with COI or something else to stop them from writing articles. I did not even know this word before it hits me. I am writing it in this thread again which I wrote above that, "I do not promote anyone here or get pad for my work, I do it for my satisfaction. Whenever I find someone or something which I think has sufficient reliable sources to be on wikipedia, I try to create one. However I have succeeded even once, which is unfortunate because everything is considered here is COI." Poojasharma20 (talk) 13:15, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the ping and your assurance that you do not have a COI; you will appreciate that it's a question that's bound to be asked because most people writing about a company really are working directly or indirectly for that company, which is not permitted under our T&Cs. I block people every day for undisclosed paid editing. The other main point is that if you choose to write about a company it's bound to be promotional if you rely on press releases and interviews with the bosses for your sources Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:51, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Jimfbleak Thanks for the quick reply and understand my position. However 1 point is not clear to me that how to write an neutral article if we cannot rely on online articles, because thats the only source of knowing about that company or person. If I contact them directly, which is not possible in every situation and also it will come under COI. Then without contacting them its nearly impossible to know something which is already not published in any article. The article I wrote about Narayan jewellers was according to me in neutral note but according to wiki guidelines it was not. Is there a way to retrieve that article so that I can modify it or is there a way to move that article to my draft space again so that I can work on it. Also I have 1 other article in mind. 1 kid from my city, he got 7-8 guiness world records and he is only 6 year old. He also received few national awards and I think he deserves to be on wikipedia. How to write about him? Can you show some light on how to go about these. thanks in advance Poojasharma20 (talk) 18:56, 19 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You can use online articles if they are genuinely independent, but not of they are press releases or self-serving interviews. If your 6-year old has the Guiness World records, that's probably fine, Since Guiness is an indepedent reliable source. Same with the national awards, if they have been reported in national newpapers. What you can't use is social media, blogs and the like.
With regard to the jewellers, you seem to be saying that you can't find out anyting about them except their own press releases, but surely they must publish annual reports which give basic financial and other company details? If you really can't find anything beyond "look who wears our stuff!" you are wasting your time with a non-notable company that will never have an article here because of lack of real facts. Speedy deletion nomination of Shailesh Tyagi[edit]

Hello Poojasharma20,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Shailesh Tyagi for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
