Hi, firstly let me say welcome to wikipedia. Now, the Mariposa War I expanded lightly, about a month and half ago. I added all the information I could that was relevant to the article and I don't believe any more could be added to that particular article. The Mendocino War is one I am only familiar with in passing. I myself have contacted two other editors about the Mendocina War, but we have been unable to find any more information on the war it self. I too am very intrested in Native American history, but my intrest lies more in activist groups and and the political history of those groups. Unfortunately I do not have anymore information on either of these events. If you do have any information on these events, I urge you to add it the articles. The quantity nor the quality of the information you add is of much importance just as long as it is true and and verifiable. If the information you add is of poor quality there are many editors who would clean it up. As to the quantity sometimes a single word can make an article flow and make sense! So again I urge you to add what you know and be bold! Again welcome and thank you for your messages I hope I helped :-D KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 01:17, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Spawn Man's Talk Page[edit]

Can you please explain to me what just went on on my user talk page? There were two anon IPs, Was 4.250 & you. "Text originally posted by above user on Spawn Man's user page:" the above user didn't post the noted text! The one who wrote this italic note did! Plus I left a simliar note on Was's talk, but I never deleted it! Plus I have no idea what the first IP adrees was talking about the misplaced text? Please un dumfound me? Spawn Man 02:58, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Left further message on my talk. Still confused..... Spawn Man 03:05, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I get it now. Sorry for the trouble. I must get some barrocca in me to loosen those cob webs! Thanks. Spawn Man 03:20, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Since you seem nice & helpful, I was wondering if you could help me with a problem of mine. I've uploaded an image onto wikipedia of my cat. It is on my user page on the top right. I was wondering, is the licence I put on it suitable? I want to reserve the right to claim it at any point & want to be able to have my name attributed ot it, so like no one can go "This is my photo" & claim it as theirs. Can you please help? I desperately need help so my cat doesn't get used in the wrong circles, if you know what I mean.... Half of the people I've asked say that the liscence I have is correct, while the other half say I should use one of those other ones. Basically I want to put that the image is mine & it is allowed for non-profit uses & that no one can claim it but me. Could you please help? I would really appreciate it & will repay however I can for your help... Spawn Man 03:32, 5 January 2006 (UTC) P.S. It's the first picture I've uploaded, so I really want to get the jist of it....[reply]
Thanks for the tag, however what should I do for the "specific notice of the rights you wish to reserve for yourself" & should I put anything in the "rationale" link off the liscence tag? It seems good enough for me, but it's kind of annoying that there isn't an exact match for what I want. I dunno, I may just get the image deleted. It would be different if I created it specifically for an article.... Spawn Man 04:15, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'll pass it on to him, he has his own fan club already........ Thanks for all your help. It's really ...... helpful. BTW, what's with the spawn babe? Aren't we meant to date before we make pet names for each other? (it was a joke, just incase you didn't get it) :-) See ya, Spawn Babe? :) 04:24, 5 January 2006 (UTC). P.S. I've been trying to get a pen pal from a different country on here for ages, will you be my pen pal on here? We could swap posts on what it's like to live in America & New Zealand...... Thanks again....[reply]
BTW again, what's like being a cop? You had a template on your user page & I've always wondered. Why did you become a cop? To save people, uncorrupt a corrupted world? Have you killed anyone if you don't mind me asking? Spawn Man 04:33, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

CSD[edit]

I'm on it! Didn't look like it for a little bit, but I got hung up on one of the first pages I clicked on and had to do some investigating. :( Mo0[talk] 05:50, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy[edit]

Not to assume anything, but do you know much about the Nez Perce or Crow Nation or especially the Shoshone? I've been working on articles that briefly mention these groups of native Americans and there isn't much to go on. See for example Nez Perce National Historic Trail and Nez Perce National Historical Park and also the history section of Shoshone National Forest. If you know anything about their history that needs expansion or correction please do so. I see also you uploaded an image of Josef Mengele...the forensic anthropologist I studied under at U. of Maryland Ellis R. Kerley was one of the main examiners of his (Mengeles') remains. Anyhoo, help if you wish, happy editing to you!--MONGO 11:48, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Ah, thank you for correcting my speedy deletion template, glad to know i'm not the only one watching that list of new pages :D Matthew 21:06, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

yup, it most definatly is. Matthew 21:11, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mind if I ask a question?[edit]

How do you add those user info. thingys to your user page the ones like, "This user reverts vandalism on sight."? Matthew 21:37, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for voting in my RfA, I got it! :) If you need anything, just give me a shout. - FrancisTyers 00:29, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Patrick Erin Mason[edit]

Patrick Erin Mason is an active duty Air Force member who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, in the Sunni Triangle and was awarded the Purple Heart. Regardless of your opinions of the vanity of the piece it belongs on the main pages with the other biographies of significant people. It will be posted on the main pages with the other biographies. His accomplishments have had enormous impact on the Air Force specifically the Munitions Career Field. The only exception I will make is finishing the article before I post it. Other than that, I am letting you know that it will not be posted in the “User” section and I will not stop at the lowest level if my works are once again deleted. Thank you for your understanding and acceptance of this resolution.

Rfa thanks[edit]

Hello Phaedriel! Thank you for supporting my Rfa. I will try my best to be a good administrator. --a.n.o.n.y.m t 17:43, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Citing[edit]

I read the citing pages that are available but I am still unsure about how you wikipedians would like my works cited? Would you mind lending some insight?

My RfA[edit]

WikiProjects[edit]

Just to let you know...I started off here spending almost all my time on the George W Bush article. Not that I think he is the end of the world, but I saw an article that was completely POV and tried to neutralize it. I was known then as a bit of an edit warrior. Now that I am more mature I am mostly involved in Wikipedia:WikiProject Protected areas and have started over 100 articles and stubs mostly related to that endeavour. The key to happiness here is to just find out an area of special interest to you, (and for me that involves the protected areas as that is my background) and have it be something different than what you do for a living....then do RC Patrol and admin type of stuff when you feel like it. Best plan of attack: Do unto others...then run! No, just kidding! I just think that if you spend too much time on the "battlefield", burnout will happen. I've seen it time and time again. Okay, enough of my condescending small-minded lecture:-) I saw no WikiProjects related to U.S. Indians, Native Americans, or Indian Tribes. I saw some categories and lists, but there is simply a big black hole when it comes to these areas. We really need to recruit some experts such as yourself to help populate articles of this type. If you want to start a WikiProject...here's the place to find out how: Wikipedia:WikiProject. Here is Category:Native American tribes [1] and Category:WikiProjects [2]. There is also the Wikipedia:List of WikiProjects and a list know by the title of Classification of indigenous peoples of the Americas. Let me know if there is anything else you need...I'm online everyday. Be careful out there on the streets. I was a Fed for the National Park Service and then worked for INS and am now employed with a different agency so I appreciate and respect the sacrifices you make everyday doing law enforcement. Happy editing!--MONGO 08:58, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whoa...[edit]

Wow, look at that!! Thank you SO MUCH for all your hard work on my userpage! I'm going to copy it over right now. I hope it didn't gall you too much to be working on a Longhorn's userpage ;) I can't tell you how much I appreciate it (as you saw, it was quite a mess -- despite having taken a page design and layout journalism class, I can't design a thing). If I can ever, ever help you, please don't hesitate to drop me a note, and I look forward to seeing you around. (PS, I'm part Cherokee!). · Katefan0(scribble)/mrp 07:39, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Many thanks for "No problem" supporting my request for adminiship, I'm sure you'll be glad to know the final result was 92/1/0. I am now an administrator and (as always) if I do anything you have issue with, please talk about it with me.

I like this page format too, might be back for a bit of 'borrowing' after I've posted all the notes ;) --Alf melmac 10:01, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pgk's RFA

Thanks for your support on my request for adminship.

The final outcome was (80/3/0), so I am now an administrator. I was flattered by the level of support and the comments, so I'm under real pressure not to disappoint, thus if you have any queries, suggestions or problems with any of my actions as an admin then please leave me a note --pgk(talk) 10:41, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

saw your sandbox may i copy it for my plans to be an administrator real early.--218.232.104.29 03:15, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure! I must warn you that the design you saw is already in use, as I made it specially for User:MONGO. Perhaps I can make a new one for you instead - after you register, of course. Word of advice, tho - I seriously doubt that merely a good-looking user page will grant you a fast adminship. And what's so special about adminship anyway? Cheers, -- Phædriel *whistle* 09:06, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow![edit]

I really appreciate the new userpage you have created for me. The time you spent working on this was a huge contribution and I am, well, beyond words of thanks. I have moved it to my userspace already! Obviously, I'm not that good at the coding and my graphics abilities are about on the same level as a wombat, so I am most pleased that you have offered this for my use. I was actually going to ask a few people some time back to fix my userpage so it was less hideous, but I kinda felt like not making anyone feel obligated. Again, I am very flattered and certainly owe you. Let me know if you need anymore help with those projects, as I do a fairly decent job with research and the Native American articles are, in most cases, much less informative than those people deserve. You are most kind, thank you!--MONGO 06:48, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, thanks! But see, my competitive collaborative nature won't allow me to us it "as is"... but you've definately inspired me to go and have another look! I tell you what I really need help with - my smart mouth. (You'll be watching, apparently!) So, officer Phaedriel, if you ever notice me being uncivil, please drop me a quick note and I'll redact. Now, off to see what I can do with that great userpage you've provided... - brenneman(t)(c) 10:46, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Francs2000's Bureaucratship

Thanks for your support on my request for bureaucratship.

The final outcome was (70/5/0), so I am now a bureaucrat. I seriously didn't expect so many good comments from everybody and I appreciated the constructive criticism from those that gave it. If you have any queries, suggestions or problems with any of my actions as a bureaucrat then please leave me a note. -- Francs2000 21:43, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
