Sources needed for Days of the Year pages[edit]
You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages now require direct sources for additions. For details see the content guideline, the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide or the edit notice on any DOY page. Almost all new additions without references are now being reverted on-sight.
Please do not add new additions to these pages without direct sources as the burden to provide them is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages.

Rugby union scoring[edit]
Hi there! I just wanted to ask a question - what do the "m" and "c" refer to in a rugby union scoreline? I don't know a ton about the sport and I couldn't find it in the report. Thanks! PCN02WPS (talk | contribs) 16:16, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
- After scoring a try, teams are allowed to kick at goal for two extra points. The "m" refers to when they miss the shot and the "c" refers to when they convert it. Open to any question, any time. User:Mikey'Da'Man, Archangel 17:30, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

2021 Rugby World Cup qualifying[edit]
Hi, thanks for putting the content of the 2021 Rugby World Cup qualifying article back to "2021" - I'd not realised that it would still be named 2021 rather than 2022 when I moved it. However, it needs a move rather than a cut & paste, to preserve the page history, so I have nominated it for speedy deletion. Once that's done it will need your cut & paste edit [2] reverting and then the "2022" moved back to "2021" to re-create the contnet and pick up the page history. Am happy to sort that out when its ready. --Bcp67 (talk) 17:32, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
March 2021[edit]
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into 2021 Rugby World Cup. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Correct way would have been to move 2022 Rugby World Cup back to 2021 Rugby World Cup, not creating a second copy of the article Joseph2302 (talk) 10:38, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- This is what I wanted to do, however due to a new article being redirected to the original moved article, it was impossible to move the original back to the original title. I know this is against guidelines but until the new article has been deleted, I see this as the most acceptable way to view the actual article. Links to draft articles[edit]
Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to List of women's international rugby union test matches. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 09:38, 1 October 2021 (UTC)

Hi there Mikey, Hoping you've seen the further discussion at the page linked above. Wanting to defuse some of the animosity on the page and preparing an RfC on the template format, was hoping you could contribute a position statement for your side at the talkpage. Once that's done I'm going to produce mutually agreeable summaries of the two sides in the debate and open it up for outside comment to find consensus. --(loopback) ping/whereis 12:35, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
- Tell me exactly what you want me to do? Mikey'Da'Man, Archangel (talk) 14:00, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
- So I'd like to make sure we're one the same page, it might be helpful to review Wikipedia:Requests for comment and Wikipedia:Writing requests for comment. At the moment there's a lot of hot tempers on that talk page and I'd like to tamp down the temperature a bit by making it more then a 1 vs 1 clash of personality and redirect it towards what's better for the encyclopedia and more policy compliant. To that end I'd appreciate a comment fully stating your position on the template. Since the conflict is between using a bespoke table format vs the table built using the module, as well as the inclusion or noninclusion of tries for/tries against and whether there is proper sourcing for those, it would be appropriate to touch on each of those issues. Once you've posted that, I'm going to come up with non-judgemental summaries of each side, about a paragraph for each, and make sure those summaries are mutually acceptable descriptions of your and AFC's position. Once we have those, we can put it to the larger community via notes on the various discussion hubs and wikiprojects and have a discussion with the larger community and see if we can come to a consensus. --(loopback) ping/whereis 14:16, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
- So you want me to make my statement on the admins' noticeboard or the table's talk page? Mikey'Da'Man, Archangel (talk) 14:31, 1 January 2023 (UTC)
- The table's talkpage please. Moving these sorts of things off the dramaboard and into a collaborative editing environment without the threat of blocks hanging over everyone's head is one of the principle tools for lowering the temperature. --(loopback) ping/whereis 14:34, 1 January 2023 (UTC)

RfC has began[edit]
Just giving you a heads up that earlier tonight I posted the RfC on Template talk:2022–23 Top 14 Table. It was already added to the RfC listings under the Society, Culture and Sports umbrella and I additionally posted it on the talkpages of the wikiprojects for rugby union and rugby league. A couple editors have already added to the discussion. You should feel free to engage with them constructively and answer questions/concerns. Once the discussion has reached its conclusion in terms of activity you can post on Wikipedia:Closure requests to ask an uninvolved editor to close the RfC and identify a consensus. Thanks for your efforts and I wish you all the best going forward in your editing. --(loopback) ping/whereis 14:24, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
