Spanish language Lamar HS article

I moved JP90's article for him - it is now at es:Escuela Secundaria Lamar (Houston) WhisperToMe 05:15, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Did you ever get any kind of explanation from Waking down as to what this article was about? Last I saw it, at which point I left the comment on his talk page, it had the infobox from the Audrey Hepburn article, which made no sense. Did it ever amount to anything credible? I was trying not to leap to any conclusions---trying to be friendlier to the new editors---and hoped he'd make some sort of explanation. But, none was ever forthcoming. I was hoping you might've gotten some word from him. ---Charles 19:04, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

  • No, I never heard anything from him. --Metropolitan90 04:18, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Thank you! Fast work from you too. I am intending to expand the article. Will place hang on tag directly. Cheers, Alastair Haines 03:31, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

OK, I've done some work so you can see where it's going. Should have addressed the main concerns anyway. Got to go out now (I live in Australia), cheers. Alastair Haines 04:11, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Stub templates in mainspace

Thanks for fixing the one I missed. On that note, when fixing namespace errors, you should also deal with the resultant cross-namespace redirect, as I did with the ones I moved myself: I missed the one you'd left, since the template was in the right place by the time I started using it. (Not that it's a good sign that I was managing to make the same error in batches, I must admit...) Alai 11:35, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Vicens Studios

Thanks with that, so if I list the theatres the movies are at and the town we play in, when it was created, etc. you think it will stay? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nelsito28 (talkcontribs)

  • Because you have already had this article speedily deleted twice, you will probably need to get the article in good shape before taking it "live" into the encyclopedia without having it get deleted again. Therefore, I would recommend that you create the article in your own user space at User:Nelsito28/Vicens Studios, and work on it there with factual information and citations to independent, reliable sources, before trying to move it back into the main encyclopedia at Vicens Studios. --Metropolitan90 01:11, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Merge of Joker 1989

I saw your merge template addition at the Joker (1989 Batman character) page. The editor who is writing the article reverted it out. I reverted it back in, then followed with both a start of the discussion at the appropriate place, and by giving him a polite word about WP:OWN and an invite to participate. I would appreciate you zdding your thoughts to that discussion. Thank you. ThuranX 22:52, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

The Elleai D'Amore wiki page is legit, please don't delete it.

She's a relative newcomer, at least to popular fame, but she's been in the industry for quite some time. Infact, she's been known in the fashion world among model fanatics since 2004. All the information provided on the proposed wiki page is correct, although I think over the next few days (while she is being google searched) fans may begin to add more information and images. Google searches on Elleai don't provide extensive information, mostly because there is not an overwhelming amount posted at this present moment - she is still currently in the transitional period of well known, to celebrity.

I urge you to reconsider flagging this page for deletion, or having it deleted. Thankyou.

(If by chance you do decide to go further with deleting the Elleai D'Amore page, how should fans go about having an Editor add an Elleai D'Amore page? Perhaps at another time, in a few weeks or so? I can only imagine the page will keep returning until the editors get bored of deleting it!) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Samantha Harris 3 (talkcontribs)

  • Well, I could be wrong, but I have already submitted this article for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Elleai D'Amore. If you have good reasons and/or evidence to show why this article should be kept, please post the reasons and/or links there for other editors to consider. The deletion discussion will normally run for 5 days, after which an administrator will decide whether the article should be kept or deleted. I do not recommend restoring the article if it is deleted because that would justify having the article speedily deleted; the only exception would be if new information turned up that would clearly support the article's accuracy and the notability of the subject (like if Elleai showed up in magazines like People, Us, etc.). --Metropolitan90 05:51, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Notability of Janna Allen

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Janna Allen, by Nosliwx, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Janna Allen seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Janna Allen, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Janna Allen itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 19:16, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

why dlete criticism of south park

—Preceding unsigned comment added by MagicalPhats (talkcontribs)

controversy and criticism are different things. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MagicalPhats (talkcontribs)

  • In that case, I will withdraw from the discussion, and you and other editors can decide collectively, through the usual Wikipedia processes, whether we should have a separate article titled Criticism of South Park. Here is a link to the original article as written by MagicalPhats: [1]. --Metropolitan90 18:42, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Steve Oliver

Why have you got it in for the former comedian Steve Oliver? He works in the music business now but is surely entitled to have an entry. Just because you haven't heard of him! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.96.71.55 (talkcontribs)

  • I didn't submit an article about Steve Oliver for deletion, and I haven't even seen such an article on Wikipedia. I submitted an article about a pantomime he wrote, Jack and the beanstalk(ish), for deletion. It is possible that Oliver could be notable enough to merit an article without warranting articles about all of his works. --Metropolitan90 01:47, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Jack and the Beanstalk(ish) is an underground classic. I submitted the article in good faith as a fan of Oliver's work. Some saw this as a vanity article, although as it's about a show that finished years ago there's no reason to promote it. As for the stupid excuse that he can't find it on the internet, I have to agree with the comment about it pre-dating the net. Although the internet was around then, websites were, in 1993 uncommon. Even when the video came out the internet was still seen as a passing fad. Steve Oliver had a postal mailing list and fan club which I was a member of, as that's the way it was back then. There are articles about things I have never heard of on wikipedia, but I don't feel threatened enough to request a deletion. If you have any power at all then I implore you to reinstate this article about the panto. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Podmaster2 (talkcontribs)

  • Leaving aside the lack of web hits, as far as I can recall, there were no sources at all given for the article. If you can find some independent, reliable sources that discussed the pantomime, such as mainstream newspapers, it may be worth trying to reinstate the article. (Something like Oliver's own mailing list newsletter would not be an independent source.) Until such sources are found, I don't think it would be worthwhile to try reinstating the article. --Metropolitan90 06:38, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Why dont we simply move it to Wiktionary? Michaelh2001 06:26, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

  • I have no objection to that. --Metropolitan90 06:28, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
    • how do you link from a Wikipedia article to a words definition in Wiktionary? Can that be done? Michaelh2001 06:34, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
      • Sorry, I don't know the procedure. --Metropolitan90 06:52, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
        • I'm going to try using the {{Copy to Wiktionary}} template. --Metropolitan90 07:11, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
          • It has been deleted from Wikipedia and is not listed in Wiktionary. Sounds like the term has been totally "Wiki-suppressed" and if thats the case, the Wiki process is hopelessly biased and broken and I'm Wiki-outa-here. Michaelh2001 18:19, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
            • It's not Wiki-gone. See wikt:Transwiki:Vietraq. I am not active in Wiktionary so you will have to ask someone at that project how to get the word moved from the Transwiki namespace there to the main dictionary. --Metropolitan90 02:14, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of Inner sanctum records

Are you the one who decided to delete the page called Inner sanctum records? If so I need to discuss undeletion. That was an historical document about an important place in American musical history. It was not an ad for a commercial establishment. Inner Sanctum has been closed for at least 20 years. I have several people with credibility in the music industry who are prepared to offer testimonials as to the importance of Inner Sanctum.Krome

  • I did submit the page for deletion, but I didn't actually delete the page myself since I don't have the power to do so. I know that you do have the text of the article in your user space, so I would recommend you take the article to Deletion review to request permission to return it to the main encyclopedia. This way other editors will be able to participate in the discussion. --Metropolitan90 17:52, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Can you tell me why you made the recommendation? I have had conversations with Fvasconellos who did the deletion, but since he didn't make the recommendation he couldn't really help with fixing it. Perhaps if I knew why, I could simply fix and move it without other editors.

Invitation

Thanks for jumping in and tidying up - I was trying to save it as my computer died and before I had finished adding the other information I had to hand (Too many files open was probably why the computer died.) As an author his books were mainly autobiographical which is why I thought his family background from the census was relevant. Your call as to whether it should be reinserted.

You might want to be aware that User:CraziestMtb creates a large number of duplicates by copy&paste. I'm all for WP:AGF, but that's a pattern for which he keeps getting warned to no avail. — Coren (talk) 04:51, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

huh?

What is wrong with the page? Its the truth, not a attack page. --Suud Vaastereimergraadt 19:25, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Thats alod of bullshit. I CAN DO WHAT I WANT WHEN I WANT! YOU DO NOT OWN ME, --Suud Vaastereimergraadt 19:30, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
  • Well, I agree that I do not own you. In fact, I have never claimed to own you. Have a nice day. --Metropolitan90 19:39, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Metropolitan90TemplateCent.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Metropolitan90TemplateCent.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:11, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Well by Personally attacking her you mean getting her back for putting a lit cigaret in my hair causing me to loose some hair and be in pain then yes I was personally attacking her and I would do it again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thedeakinator (talkcontribs)

Oh right... [Sorry, I have no idea what this is about, but am sincerely interested now!] ScarianTalk 01:38, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
  • The article this is about has since been deleted; it was a short "biography" of a non-notable private individual which consisted of about two sentences of attacking comments and did not mention anything about the lit cigarette in hair incident. I don't see a need to mention the individual's name again on my talk page due to WP:BLP concerns. --Metropolitan90 02:29, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Bottest

Hi just so you know don't readd the tag to bot test, I'm using the page to test my bot to see if it will pick up the creator of the page (ie. me) removing the speedy tag. Thanks! --Chris g 05:21, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Lui Castro

Hi Metropolitan90, thank you for translating the Lui Castro article and confirming that it should be speedily deleted (it's now gone). --Mendors 05:19, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Glad to help. The unfortunate thing is that even though I know enough Spanish that I could tell it was a nonsense attack, I still had to type out the translation to make sure that an administrator would believe it was a nonsense attack. (This is not a criticism of any particular admin; I didn't know who might happen to be around to consider it for speedy deletion.) --Metropolitan90 05:44, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

I don't see any instructions on what to do about an undeleted article, so I removed the entry from the log, and put up a speedy deletion tag with a note that explained that it should have been deleted. Is that OK? Speciate 05:47, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

  • As far as I can tell, yes. Now that the article has been speedily deleted, it doesn't need an AFD nomination. --Metropolitan90 06:01, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Why does this article keep coming back? I think someone is playing the system. Speciate 21:26, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

A Philosopher Lecturing on the Orrery

Thanks Metropolitan90 for the work you did on A Philosopher Lecturing on the Orrery. I know it was (and still is to a degree) a work in progress, and you did help clean it up. Phil 19:35, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Are you crazy? Putting a speedy deletion tag on a page 1 minute after it's been created, whilst I'm editing it is... well I'm tempted to swear, but you get the picture. Do you expect speed typists or something, it's 5am here and I've been up all night working on the main article and now I start on the satellites this happens, I can do without a "jobsworth" like you taking me away from it for no good reason. WebHamster 04:10, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Especially for {{db-empty}}, it's important to remember that many editors edit a new article in stages, so it's advisable to wait at least 30 minutes or so to see if content will be added. My recommendation though, would be to expand the new page list to 500 and start patrolling from the bottom up, which allows for more time following creation. Leebo T/C 04:31, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for cleaning this up; I was unsure exactly how the references work but I'll keep it as a template in the future. Again, I appreciate the time you spent on it. Mjwhite23 18:19, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Sppedy delete

You were fast to propose speedy deletion of List of sovereign states/Test. I made a test page in the talk domain and speedy deleted the page. Electionworld Talk? 07:42, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

  • I hope this wasn't a problem. I just was at Special:Newpages, saw a page labeled as a test page, and so my instinct was to give it a {{db-test}}. --Metropolitan90 13:39, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
