Template previews

If you want to play around with templates, it's probably best to do that in your user space. If you make a User:MC Snowy/Bracket page, then you can include it in any other page with {{User:MC Snowy/Bracket | ... }}. On a similar note, can you please use a sandbox or ask someone to help when you experiment directly in the main template space? Your changes are frequently quite disruptive! French Championships, pre-1925

A search of the historical record finds that Fyunclick is wrong. In fact, the first winner of the French championships in 1891 was...an Englishman! And Englishmen also made the final in 1892 and 1897. Clearly, the idea that foreigners were 'excluded' from pre-1925 tournaments is fallacious:

Repeating false 'history' doesn't make it true. Since the premise of Fyunclick's argument is lost, he should give up trying to 'exclude' others and end his discriminatory campaign.

After all, do we really believe that Wimbledon in 1877 (13 players entered) is in any way comparable to today's tournaments, where there are 128 male and 128 female singles players, not to mention doubles? These lists are more for historical purposes than for 'slam-counting' purposes. Let's not forget that the early players were at a decided disadvantage...after all, how can you play in the Australian Open in 1903 when it doesn't exist yet?Ryoung122 08:50, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

A list of U2's other video releases can be found here. The band have returned from Fez, Morocco, working on their album. According to Adam, “There’s definitely an album in there.” Some possible songs include: “Mercy”, “If I Could Live My Life Again”, and “North Star”. U2's new film, U23D, is due for 3D theatre release later this year. The Republican National Committee has taken the first step to endorsing Bono’s ONE initiative, with a potential donation of 30 billion dollars in U.S. taxes. Their most recent song is a cover of the John Lennon song, Instant Karma! for the album Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign To Save Darfur. All proceeds go to Amnesty International. They are Vero444 and MC. We now have 38 members! The Album It was released on November 2004. It was distributed by Island Records and Interscope in the U.S.A. The album was a critical and commercial success. It went to #1 in many countries and sold over 9 million copies worldwide. Bono described the album as "our first rock album. It's taken us twenty years or whatever it is, but this is our first rock album." The album deals with love, war, peace, harmony, and approaching death. The singles released from the album are: Vertigo, All Because of You, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, City of Blinding Lights and Original of the Species. More info from the album page here. It debuted at #1 in 28 countries and sold over 12 million copies worldwide. This album marked the end of U2's experimental phase in the 90's. However, they did not really return to their more traditional rock sound until How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. Rolling Stone called it "U2's third masterpiece". The song "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of" was written by Bono for his late friend, Michael Hutchence. On several occasions the band said that they were "re-applying for the job of the best band in the world" with this album. The singles released from the album are: Beautiful Day, Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of, Walk On and Elevation. Take a look at the All That You Can't Leave Behind article for more info.

Your Rename

I noticed here that you changed your signature to match your new name. I urge you to exercise extreme caution with this. Going back and changing links because of a rename has been very controversial. The old link should just redirect to your new page anyway. i ^said 01:04, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

I dont recall it being controversial changing your signature neccesarily, but I can recall one time recently where users edit warred over a users changing of links. It ended up at AN/I several times, and an RfC. I'll try to find links for you. But again, there is no need to do this, and it is just a waste of time. If you wanted nobody to know "your old account name", you should have created a new account. Not only the rename can be easily found in logs, with mass links renaming you are also attracting a lot of attention to yourself. U2 News On September 28, Bono was jointly awarded the Philadelphia Liberty Medal along with DATA. The medal is awarded to recognize leadership in the pursuit of freedom. Three U.S. Presidents, Nelson Mandela, Viktor Yushchenko, Colin Powell and Kofi Annan are among those who have been awarded it. In his acceptance speech, Bono spoke of those who don't have their liberty and urged Americans to keep working to solve the world's problems. More info here. U23D, U2's upcoming movie, will not be released until early next year. U2's recent biography, U2 By U2, is now available in paperback in the U.S. The 20th anniversary edition of The Joshua Tree will be released soon; the bonus content includes the Red Hill Mining Town video, often sought by fans. Project News Larry Mullen has reached Good Article status! Our first piece of featured content; List of U2 awards is completed. Where the Streets Have No Name is our latest GA. From the Editors Welcome to the November edition of the WikiProject U2 Newsletter. This month's theme is Zooropa, one of U2's most experimental albums. We hope you enjoy reading it! New Members The Album Zooropa was released on July 6, 1993. This album, along with Pop, is considered one of U2's most experimental. It was originally slated to be an EP, but expanded into an LP. It was recorded in between legs on the Zoo TV Tour. Zooropa features a rare lead singing performance by The Edge, on the song Numb. The names of three unfinished songs from the recording sessions -"Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me", "If You Wear That Velvet Dress", and "Wake Up Dead Man"- appear superimposed on the cover; "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me" was used in the Batman Forever soundtrack, and "If You Wear That Velvet Dress" and "Wake Up Dead Man" were included on 1997's "Pop". "Numb" was released in an unlikely format as the first "video single"; the "Numb" video is thought of as one of U2's best. "Some Days are Better Than Others" is the only track to have never been played live. The singles from Zooropa are "Numb", "Lemon", and "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)"

Canadian QF

Sorry about not replying sooner. Took me forever to figure out how to send messages. In reply to your question of who the last Canadian to be in the quarterfinals of an ATP event was before Frank Dancevic, I believe the person was Greg Rusedski. Not many people may know this, but Rusedski originally played for Canada before changing his citizenship to that of Great Britain in 1995.

News On May 5, the first round of the NBA Playoffs were completed. In the East, Boston, will face Cleveland, and Detroit will face Orlando. In the West, the Los Angeles (Lakers) will face Utah, and New Orleans will face San Antonio. For more up-to-date information, visit the 2008 NBA Playoffs. The end-of-the-year awards are now being handed out. So far, Byron Scott has been awarded the Coach of the Year award, Kevin Garnett has been named the Defensive Player of the Year, Hedo Turkoglu has won the Most Improved Player award, and Kevin Durant has been named the Rookie of the Year.	Improved Content On April 9, Dirk Nowitzki was given Good Article status. On April 19, Yi Jianlian was promoted to Good Article status. On April 29, Yao Ming was given to Featured Article status. On May 4, the List of Houston Rockets first and second round draft picks was promoted to Featured List status. Current Projects Update all the 2007-08 Playoff game logs that are located in Category:National Basketball Association game log templates As the playoffs continue, keep the 2008 NBA Playoffs article up-to-date.	Collaboration of the Month Magic Johnson has been chosen to be our very first Collaboration of the Month article. Although this is article is already a Good Article, it still can be improved. The goal is to improve this article by the end of May so that it can be nominated for Featured Article status. In particular, free-use images should be found for the article, all Manual of Style guidelines should be followed, and a neutral point of view should be maintained throughout the article. If there is anything you can do to improve the article, then please help out.

Proposed deletion of 2007 NBA Development League Playoffs
