Greetings[edit]

Welcome Llavigne,

You have done a good job so far in Wikipedia (WP). I can see that you're a serious Wikipedian interested in improving our project. If you stay for a while, you'll discovered that collectively, we're a cooperative and friendly community. We are all here to learn, and hopefully can give something back. If you have questions or doubts of any sort, do not hesitate to post them on the Village Pump, somebody will respond ASAP. Other helpful pages include:

Just keep in mind that while relevant discussions and constructive criticisms and are welcome, unproductive and/or destructive insults are not (see Wikiquette & Wikipedia:Neutral point of view).

Who knows? Perhaps you'll soon become a Wikipediholic! :-) --Menchi 03:14, 11 Nov 2003 (UTC)
p.s. Simply type four tildes (~~~~), then you can sign you name and date like I just did with mine. And please always do so after your post in Talk/discussion pages and Village Pump.

Hi Llavigne. I read your edit of CRM where you said that the use of cookies in CRM is not an ethical concern. I don't understand that comment. Are you claiming that cookies are not being used in CRM, or that people do not care that they are being used? mydogategodshat 01:33, 16 Nov 2003 (UTC)

Hi MDAGH, thanks for your input. Regarding the CRM article, I felt that the specific cookie mention was rather peripheral to the higher-level CRM privacy topics. I did not mean that they are not used or not important; rather that they are a very small technical part of the whole CRM client-tracking architecture.
In retrospect, I think that the cookie mention could be expanded in terms of CRM-related usage-tracking issues. Please feel free to revert and/or expand this part.
p.s. I saw the discussion on your current name, I see I had first "parsed" it wrong as well... amusing.

Jiuzhaigou Valley[edit]

Hey Llavigne. Just wanted to congratulate you on all the work you put into this article.

My own small addition came about after having gone to see the movie Hero. I thought the movie was rather mediocre but I was impressed by the cinematography and some of the filming locations. In particular I wanted to find out the name of the lake shown in the film. So after doing some searching on the net I found the answer and went and added that information to Wikipedia.

I'm curious as to whether you've visited the park yourself. I guess maybe you have and that gave you the enthusiasm to add so much information to the article. Anyway, congrats again on such a major contribution.

Oska 05:06, Dec 3, 2004 (UTC)

Thanks Oska. It's always great to get feedback. I agree with your view of Hero, it was gorgeous although scenario and dialogue definitely went down the CTHD/HoFD path.
I was indeed inspired to write after a visit to the valley, and it lives up to the photographic expectations. Although it must be understood that every picture of virgin Jiuzhaigou landscape conveniently omits the hundreds/thousands of bystanders left, right and behind frame.
And it's about the journey as much as the destination. I took a tour bus for 4 days with little comfort and no English. Grueling but instructive, and I made a good friend that day.

Speculation[edit]

Llavigne,

The speculation/hedging/arbitrage distinction was just a mechanical merge from Speculator. A quick run through Google suggests that that three-way distinction is in common use, but I don't have an authoritative source on it. The content merged came from this anon. mendel 21:15, Dec 21, 2004 (UTC)

Meetup du 9 Mai[edit]

Bonjour, Llavigne. Comment vas-tu? C'est Benoit Rheault, du Montreal Wikipedia Meetup Group. Je te rappelle le prochain Meetup. Tu n'as pas confirmé encore ta présence ou ton absence. Alors, peut-on compter sur toi? Merci. --Liberlogos 06:54, 3 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, j'y vais. Llavigne 19:54, May 3, 2005 (UTC)

Quartier international de Montréal[edit]

Great work on your article on the Quartier international de Montréal! I'm in the QIM just about every day of the week, and your article filled in a number of holes in my knowledge. Grstain 13:52, May 10, 2005 (UTC)

Well thank you! It's been a while in the making so it's nice to get feedback. Do you work in the QIM? Anyway thanks for the fixes and as you see, there's a lot of red links in there so feel free to help! I'm getting to work on the CDP. - Llavigne 18:01, May 11, 2005 (UTC)

Meeting du 15 juin[edit]

Bonjour, Llavigne.

--Liberlogos 06:57, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I noted that as part of some large editing you removed information about the FLQ terrorist bombing of the Stock Exchange. As I'm certain this was an accidental deletion, I reinserted it for you. Thank you. A. Lafontaine 18:44, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

That part was moved to Tour de la Bourse along with other events that happened in that building (such as the 2005 student occupation). Llavigne 01:15, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)
Thank you, but I reinserted the bombing into the Stock Exchange article because that is where it is most relevant. The FLQ did not target the building, they targeted the Stock Exchange as a symbol of English capitalist power and placed their bomb inside the stock exchange. Their only complaint about the building was that the land it sat on was owned by the Roman Catholic. A. Lafontaine 6 July 2005 17:39 (UTC)
Sounds OK. The al-Qaeda reference was removed as many acts of terrorism target symbols of power, and there's not much else to justify a parallel for that specific event. Llavigne July 9, 2005 01:58 (UTC)

--Liberlogos 01:42, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Trust[edit]

Excellent work reorganising Trust disambiguation. Very good idea. (I'm user:AndyJones but I'm not logged in.)

Thank you AndyJones! I did this while researching for a change on income trusts which have become a bit of a bubble in Canada lately. Should be online by the end of the week. Llavigne 12:41, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Reply of Chibi Maruko-chan[edit]

There was no publication of manga Chibi Maruko-chan between 1997 and 2002, i.e. volume 15 of Chibi Maruko-chan was a "one-time release" in 2003. ADS190 13:37, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you ADS190! I'll clarify this on the page. Llavigne 12:41, 12 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Great work on this article. We have a great shortage of people who can write well about business and finance issues. - SimonP 03:27, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you SimonP and congratulations on your own work on so many finance topics and featured articles. Llavigne 04:01, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Birthday![edit]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:43, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
