Plmn Search[edit]

PLMN(Public land mobile network) search is a procedure of RRC Layer in LTE. And occurs mainly when we switched on the mobile and done upon request received by upper layer(NAS).

1> Search for all supported available band. 2> Search for all available frequency/ channels(15 khz) for each band recursively. 3> For each frequency, Find all the cell ie cell id from PSS and SSS. 4> For each cell, Find out all the available PLMN id by decoding SIB. 5> Forward all cell with plmn id details and RSRP value with information of their high quality criteria to upper layer(NAS).
