Judas[edit]

Hi, could you please cite the sources for your edits to this article. They seem highly biased, and don't appear to be based on academic considerations.

For example you removed the text "The text is probably a translation from Greek" with the edit summary "how do you know its translated from greek? where is the greek version? When it turns up then add this to the article".

This appears to demonstrate absolutely no awareness of how textual criticism works. It is possible to tell the original language of large works due to ideosyncracies of the language. For example, poetry that rhymes tends not to rhyme once it has been translated. If we suspect it was written in one language originally, and it rhymes in that language, but not in the languages it currently exists in, then this increases the plausibility that it was originally in that language.

We have no copies of the Gospel of Matthew written in Hebrew or Aramaic, except those written many centuries later in modern times, so we could say "Jesus spoke Greek and didn't know a word of Aramaic", and that Aramaic Primacy was a completely ridiculous argument that would get yo thrown out of your degree for trying to advance. If we followed your argument. But we don't.

Please take care to provide citations for your edits to this and related articles in future. You appear to be completely ignoring both academic articles on the subject matter, and instead presenting original research (which is not permitted in wikipedia). about your sources for Royal family etc.[edit]

I see you are planning to do a number of these. The online peerage you used is not totally reliable, as it has been abridged. Watch out for "+" signs--they indicate additional children. The articles are likely to be deleted unless you add historical context, making clear why the person is important. Shouldn't be hard. I wouldn't be surprised if someone looked at related articles. I helped out a bit here, but I can't keep up with all this is addition to my regular stuff (I mainly watch out for academics). Hint: many of the people you are listed will be mentioned in one of Shakespeare's historical plays. Certainly the male characters will. Find and add the citations, it will really help. Hi. I just came across one of your stub articles. It's always good to see people working to "grow" Wikipedia content on some semi-forgotten topics.

I notice that you are relying heavily on politicalgraveyard.com as a source for articles. Although there's a lot of good content on that website, unfortunately it's not generally considered to be a reliable source -- and Wikipedia does not reliable sources to ensure verifiability of content. Articles based on unreliable sources like politicalgraveyard are liable to be challenged or deleted. I've found, however, that the information on that website often helps me to locate other sources that do qualify. Hello. I added a speedy deletion to an article you created, Colin John McRae, because Colin J. McRae has many more references. I'm sorry I didn't realise the article you created in 2010 already existed when I created the other one in 2013. However, the one I created is more fleshed out, so it would make sense to keep just one. Or we could redirect Colin John McRae to Colin J. McRae. I don't know how to merge articles. James Lyons -- Confederate Congress[edit]

I've contributed additional information for the James Lyons (Virginia) article, and upgraded it to Start Class. With two references and a portrait, should it now be C-class?

I am interested in the intersection of the delegates to the Virginia Constitutional Convention of 1850, the Virginia Secession Convention of 1861 and the members of the Confederate Congress from Virginia -- all of it including the western counties. So far I am only about one-third through the delegate list of the 1850 Chart of Delegates.

Hi, Iwalters, thanks for your message. The article had no references at all. It had 'external links', which means 'suggestions for further reading' but no indication of what sources had been used. Those listed at 'external links' would not have been considered great sources if that's what they were, especially findagrave. Its notability is also not clear. If you disagree, you can revert, but I think the best option would be to look at it in draftspace and add references, preferably WP:INLINECITED.
