   A few things about me:

  • I have been an editor here for 17 years (first edit), although I only recorded 29 edits between 2011 and 2015.
  • I am also an administrator, which means I have a few extra clean-up tools. I passed my RFA in 2008, back when adminship was truly no big deal.
  • I was an admin from January 2008 to June 2009. I resigned the tools for seven years during a period of mostly minimal editing, but then had them restored in May 2016 when I started editing consistently again.
  • I am bold when it comes to making administrative actions. That said, I will never revert another admin who has undone one of my administrative actions.
  • I mainly edit articles within the Green Bay Packers WikiProject, although I do edit some random articles from time to time.

Bears-Packers notable games.[edit]

I do want to ask, what makes you think the game on September 10 to be not that notable? I feel like it should be that notable since it was Jordan Love's first start against the Bears and his first game as a full time starter in replacement of Aaron Rodgers who dominated the Bears in his years against the Packers and Love absolutely dominated them. I mean yes the game wasn't that exciting and wasn't that close but the fact that Love did absolutely well in his first start against the Bears should be notable itself. I mean as a Bears fan myself I can consider that game to be notable because of how well Love did in his first start. Chicagosports2004 (talk) 15:14, 19 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi Chicagosports2004, admittedly, these decisions are sometimes challenging unless the notability of the game is blatantly obvious (Instant Replay Game, a playoff game, etc). When I looked at the Bears–Packers rivalry, we are talking 100+ years, 200+ games, thousands of players, etc. So I ask myself, in 5 years, in 20 year, in 100 years, will this game still be remembered? There is definitely a storyline there (as you said, Rodgers to Love, Love's first start. etc), however, that storyline suffers strongly from recentism. Who knows how Love will do? Who knows if this game is the start of another Hall of Fame career. At this point, the game was a fairly standard week 1 match-up where one team beat the other by a lot of points. The game was only talked about in the news for a few days and then it moved on to coverage of each team's week 2 match-ups/results.
All that said, that page suffers a lot from being too detailed with "notable games". I just don't have the time to clean it up, but I do have the time to try to prevent every match-up from being added. Hope that helps you understand my thinking. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 17:19, 19 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
