Hi. I thought that a redirect would be the best way to do it. I didn't think it would be necessary to request the move either since, other than the creation of the page, there was no history. Libro0 (talk) 20:32, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- I was in the process of expanding the article. What would you suggest I do with these two articles? Is it still possible to move a page to an article that has already been created. Libro0 (talk) 20:53, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

Do you know something about this issue?
There is a case presently at WP:AE about FkpCascais. From the statements of the warring parties it is hard to figure anything out. It always seems to be the same two guys, DIREKTOR and FkpCascais.
Happened to see your comment to FkpCascais about an ANI case last June. Were you in fact able to look into this and give him some advice? I noticed that FPAS gave him a sanction but there was no AE discussion at that time. (The ANI was at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive702#What to do?) I was intrigued by your comment about 'sudden, almost impulsive admin action', which suggested that you might have some insight into whatever the heck was going on. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 05:04, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi Mate,
I hope the new year is treating you well.
This is Kashif Siddiqi here, the subject of one of your articles. (http://wiki.alquds.edu/?query=Kashif_Siddiqi)I am writing to you directly as it is apparent that some of the statements at current are not up to date and false. I am sure that you would want the information on your articles to be accurate and precise. Therefore, i am more than happy to provide any information, identification documents, or articles that you might require, and we hope we can get this matter resolved with minimal effort.
Thank you for your co-operation; hope to hear from you soon.

Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited List of North American Soccer League (1968–1984) players, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Jim Bone and Paul Child (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

hello giantsnowman i see you are interested in football and you make great articles.i thank you for your great contribution including the french footballers you created articles for, very good work. i usually create french articles .i was wondering if you can do me a big favor a wikipedia editer named arunsingh16 slapped deletion notices on some of my articles.he probably did it in good faith but even according to notability guidelines my articles should be good.i think he just doesn't understand notability criteria for sports people .i thought to be notable you just need 1 cap for a top league such as ligue 1 or 2 for france or for england premier league and championship plus 2 other divisions below the championship.earning 1 cap is enough to satisfy notability .2 of them Fabien Farnolle and Sacha Petshi earned 15 or less caps, thats still good for notability but he even tagged Etienne Mendy who had nearly 300 caps for ligue 1 and 2 throughout his career lol. also he slapped 2 deletion notices on 2 of my karate articles.the category karateka was made for notable karateka the 2 he tagged both won multiple medals at the highest possible competition the european or world championships.if both Olivier Beaudry and Robert Gomis get deleted i don't know what the sense is in having a karateka category.even french wikipedia has article on olivier beaudry .i even have references.i would appreciate it if you give the deletion debates a look at..thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lesueur878 (talk • contribs) 12:58, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
thanks alot for looking after my articles i really appreciate it.funny thing just happened i created those karate articles december 15 and just few seconds ago yet another editor posted notability tag on David Felix who has won more medals than the other ones that arunsingh16 thought werent notable. thanks for the help.i really appreciate it — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lesueur878 (talk • contribs) 14:36, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Section Headings
Hi GiantSnowman, sorry I didn't realise that, I always assumed articles didn't have seperate headings due to lack of information. I will bear it in mind when I am editing from now on, although I'm not quite sure what will count as big enough for the article to have a heading. Eng66 (talk) 14:13, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, could you have a look at the Tom Carroll article I edited, I gave his loan spell at Leyton Orient a sub heading but it is only a few lines, I thought because it wasn't part of his Tottenham career then it should have it's own section, is that okay or should I change it? And thanks I will join Wikipedia:WikiProject Football and see if I can contribute. Eng66 (talk) 14:30, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Okay that's fine, from now on when I edit I will make sure not to do that, out of interest though what is the reason for not doing it, to me it looks clearer and more organized! Also, I'm sure you already know but Bradford have just signed Robert Kozluk who will need his page editing, which unless you want to do it I am happy to! Eng66 (talk) 14:43, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
I have edited the page and used that as a source, but I'm not sure how to add a row for Bradford on the career stats at the bottom of the page. Eng66 (talk) 15:20, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, I have edited stats before but I didn't know how to add another row. I have noticed that on other clubs season pages, they have month by month summaries, is that something that you think would be good to do/would be interested in doing for Bradford? Eng66 (talk) 15:42, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Okay thanks, I will work on it although it will probably take a while. What else do you like to edit? And also if I was to edit someting that isn't standard English e.g this direct quote from Frank Lampard's page: "help a lot Chelsea when you need it", what would I put the edit summary as? Eng66 (talk) 15:52, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Okay cheers, there oftens seems to be mistakes like that in articles, I make them and don't realise so if I see any I will edit and use that as an edit summary. Eng66 (talk) 15:58, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
A question about images of players. Most pictures look as though they have been taken straight from the internet and do not belong person who uploaded them onto the profile. This may be wrong, but that's what most of them look like. Is that allowed, because I was under the impression you weren't allowed to use images that you didn't create entirely yourself. Eng66 (talk) 16:24, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, I won't upload anything that I haven't created myself as I still don't really understand but cheers for the link. Eng66 (talk) 16:32, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Thanks but I wouldn't know where to find out whether or not it is free to use by anyone. Eng66 (talk) 16:50, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Thanks and don't worry, you have helped me a lot already. It's not that important, just wondering why the images seem to be taken straight from a google image search and wondering if that was allowed, if so I would have put pictures up of players but I'll leave it for now. Cheers. Eng66 (talk) 16:55, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
It's not a football related query but I didn't know who to ask. Basically I created the above disambiguation page & now user User:Boleyn has now created Stephen Black (disambiguation) as a redirect rather then a disambiguation page. Making a mess of the page & tagging it with clean up tag. Is there any way I can delete the redirect & create Stephen Black (disambiguation) properly. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 16:02, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
- What I meant was Stephen Black (disambiguation) redirects to Steven Black (disambiguation), & now both Steven & Stephen are listed. Can Stephen Black (disambiguation) redirect be deleted & recreated as a proper page. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 16:14, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, Thanks for the helping I'll try to discuss it more with the other user to find a solution before starting a redirect discussion. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 16:25, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
Clubname
Hi, I noticed your recent reverts where you readded "F.C." to the clubname parameters at several football club articles, citing WP:FOOTY consensus as grounds for this. I've searched through the WPT:FOOTY records (really should be doing other things with my time!) and the main locations where the issue were discussed are here and here (unless I've failed to notice any other discussions). A quick read of those seems to show a swing of opinion towards including "F.C.", but as TRM states at the end of the second discussion that it ended up being a waste of time (due to the user whose actions triggered the discussions, User:Sarumio, continuing as he previously was). So it seems to me that this issue (as bloody minor as it is!) hasn't really been settled yet. Also, this consensus seems to have been poorly endorsed; I've chosen all the English football club FAs as a sample and out of the 17 (provided I've checked through all them correctly) of these, only four (Ipswich Town F.C., Liverpool F.C., Luton Town F.C. and Manchester City F.C.) include "F.C.", while the other 13 do not. So, we're left in a situation where there is no consistency between articles (at least for English clubs anyway). The conclusion I've reached is that this is something that should be discussed again at WP:FOOTY, with a more definitive and well-enforced consensus hopefully being reached. (Wow, didn't intend for this to end up an essay...!) Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 16:42, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

ANI
There is no point I'm fed up of people having a pop and nothing getting done about it. Its happening far too often theses days and admins ignore it. I enjoy doing the football stuff but not if this goes on. It wouldn't be back at any if he hadn't started again. over the last week I've had three new users have a go and honestly had enough the other two are blocked indef there behaviour was so bad. His isn't as bad but he dosent even get a warning they just don't care.Edinburgh Wanderer 12:55, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- not seeing it like that for me if people get away with things like this all the time it's not worth it. They don't think even a warning is appropriate which I don't understand and they dont seem willing to even explain why it's not worth a warning. If they think
I was wrong then warn me but he's ten times worse all I did was revert something flagged as Vandalism go back and have a look and by that time he'd already started. Edinburgh Wanderer 13:13, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- I gave him advice and he bite me never again as I said stuff Wikipedia I can do without shit like this. I'll finish project in my users pace that I've started but will not be doing anything else had enough of been bloody bite by people like this. Wikipedia needs stronger action when things like this happens. Admins don't do anything because there afraid they'll get bitten by people like this. Edinburgh Wanderer 13:18, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- oh and before I opened this ANI I approached the original admin who did nothing and he said he hoped he may become constructive. There is no sign of that and he said I should reopen the ANI to get other opinions if I felt one was needed. Edinburgh Wanderer 13:21, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- I've asked for an interaction ban hopefully that's possible. Edinburgh Wanderer 13:32, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- On the article talk page he said Ban me. Make material for the press to see. To me thats a threat. But anyway if an interaction ban happens i will be happy. Cant see the point of gathering more evidence when I'm back as they won't do anything.Edinburgh Wanderer 13:47, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

RfA
I was thinking of asking a question at your next RfA. But in light of the way your answers to questions were interpreted last time (I felt the right decision was reached, but there was nonetheless some bandwagon !voting), I thought it would be fairest to let you know beforehand, so that if I do ask it at least you're prepared.
I'm a lot less inclined to oppose today than I was a year ago: you've gone out of your way to communicate your reasoning in discussions, which I felt was one of the issues last time. The other main issue was AfD, and my question would be along the lines of what has changed in this area since your first run, specifically as far as GNG versus sub-notability guides are concerned.
No need to answer now. Indeed it might be best not to, because at RfA people have a habit at picking up on semantics. Just thought it was best to give you a bit of time to prepare for the question, or to tackle the issue before the question is asked should you prefer.
Best of luck whenever you decide to run. Regards, —WFC— 01:16, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi there SNOWY, VASCO here (by the way, nice teamwork we did on the page, kudos!),
i don't think you should have reverted User:Mega60 on the infobox, he has a database like none other on Spanish football(ers), so the Santander stats (first spell) HAVE TO BE correct. But don't fret, i won't take sides here, you two "battle it out".

Vandalism - Concern(s)
Hi there SNOWMAN, VASCO here,
1 - User:Sujith realmadrid (username says it all) has taken it another step "forward". I have heard of vandalism in players' articles if a player scores a goal or gets sent off in a particular match, and also in some transfers to the "hated" team, but this guy openly insults FC Barcelona players and fans in his summaries (please see here, #6 and #7 are so pretty, further down below he calls Lionel Messi "Lionel Pussi" http://wiki.alquds.edu/?query=Special:Contributions/Sujith_realmadrid).
Result? Not one warning in his page, for remind us that football is a WAR! Fair enough...
2 - Brought that forth (and some other issues, including the recent (and ongoing!) vandalism of Pepe (footballer born 1983)) to User:Thumperward, received no positive feedback - read my message to him and his reply for more details if you wish. Ah, but another reprimand for my summaries i did...
I know that i go "against the grain" of WP guidelines very often, but i sincerely don't understand some people's reaction to my polite requests and/or suggestions. I had this idea some months ago, now i will implement it: rest assured, no more messages to anyone, no more WP:FOOTY conversations, won't bother anyone, i will work pretty much as i have done in my nearly six years of editing, alone (of course, people can come to me and ask for help on anything, i just won't do viceversa). Of course, this does not make me immune to the legal procedures of the site, if an admin thinks i should get "it" (Chris Cunningham more and more does!), i will abide by. And hopefully, i will work once and for all on my (sometimes) obnoxious summaries!
Kind regards (and i repeat, PEPE's page is not protected even though the amount of recent vandalism clearly grants it) - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 15:56, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
I have reported both you and the Vasco guy to Wikipedia. They will now resolve the issue. I feel sorry for power abusers like you, if you indeed are some moderator or admin. Pity. Hope you get a better life some day. -Sujith realmadrid — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sujith realmadrid (talk • contribs) 23:51, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
- We are warned with legal action and you insult (or someone with your account, but it's there) Barcelona players ("Lionel Pussy"?) and fans ("Farce lona of a fan"?) in your summaries? What on earth is this? And by the way Snowman, the bit about Pepe continues to be removed by this user, even though the info is ref'd and not biased (in his latest summaries he used more insults and mockery while removing it). I have apologized to him for using the word "vandal" in one summary in Pepe's article (i ALWAYS assume it is vandalism when a 5-10 line sentence, with ref, is removed without summary), but that's as good as it gets, no more conversation with this individual, and i give up about the information in the player's article (he wants it OUT, it stays OUT!). --Vasco Amaral (talk) 00:09, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
- Now, he has reinstated the info, but using the word "unintentional" (he knows for sure Pepe did not want to hurt Messi), and replacing the source from The Guardian with two, from Real Madrid's website (biased) and...YouTube! --Vasco Amaral (talk) 00:12, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
- I have not resisted and, in our latest exchange, in his talkpage, have confronted Sujith regarding the "Lionel Pussy" summary, politely as i should. Let's see the reaction. --Vasco Amaral (talk) 19:00, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
- He said he was only doing it in response to vandals. As one who has lost it so many times with vandals, i am bound to believe him. Case closed for me. --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:28, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

footballers by appearances
The problem is that the page name is inaccurate. List of Gillingham F.C. players includes players still at the club making appearances. The name List of footballers in England and Scotland by number of league appearances is misleading because it only includes retired players. I added Graham Alexander by mistake because of this, and looking a the history page many others have made the same mistake. It should include current players or it should be made clearer to readers and editors that it only includes former players. Thanks. --Kafuffle (talk) 22:04, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks but I'm sick of being the only one that stands up to people like this. Nobody is bothering to reply to him or deal with him other than me. Its clear that no one feels merit in his attempts or they would reply. Its not on though I'm sick of being the only one to deal with these things. People all say to me here that they agree on my page but they just don't do anything. I welcomed the fact he is now back to using his own account but he's just done what started it all at the last time on the pro page and I'm not reverting him ill speak to him calmly but not doing any more. Its time every member of the project actually to say what they feel rather than letting me take the flac for everyone . i don't care if they see the opposite to me but just stand up fro themselves. Please don't reply at my page just reply here if you want to. Im considering staying but not create any new pages for football for the time being.Edinburgh Wanderer 19:49, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
Hi there SNOWMAN, VASCO here (sad news on User:Edinburgh Wanderer by the way, hope he returns),
could you assist me on this before it escalates (i don't have, don't think i ever will have the "courage" to write reports on WP:FOOTY, a bit tired of being scolded nearly everytime i do so)? This player is NOT known as MAURO, but GALVÃO (for my money, the subject should be ordered by the first letter if he is known by that name). User:Jun19 has been warring with me over this and i don't know what to do (he seems to edit massively on Brazilian football, but he's not right over this - for instance Júlio César Soares Espíndola, the Inter GK, definitely should be ordered under "J" but, for example, Philippe Coutinho should be sorted under "C" not "P", as Jun most definitely would want.

With due respect to your about-to-be exalted new status, I think it is you just being an idiot. On the national team tab when I look at it, there are four headings: Country, Team Type, Matches, Goals. Under Goals, I see it saying 1... cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:30, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
- In which case, that's really odd. For me, the tabs are in capitals, not mixed case as on your image, and it has a Hungarian flag and the name Hungary under the Country heading and 1 under the Goals. I also don't have the "Reach Football Fans" advert above the tabs that appears on your image. How does that work, then? cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:45, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Czech Team
Hi GS. I see you're very active at WP:Football and I wonder if you could assess the Czech Republic national team article. To be honest, I don't know much about the difference between start, C and B category articles, despite reading and re-reading the guidelines! I've added 10 references from reliable sources, so I hope its category can be upgraded. Thank you for your time. - Cloudz679 12:34, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
Michał Miśkiewicz
Hi! I noticed you've recently made this edit to the Michał Miśkiewicz article. While you are correct saying there are no proper 'youth loans' in Italian football, when Miśkiewicz was loaned out to Chievo, he played for their Primavera team during the whole season. He made no appearances for the first team, featuring only twice as an unused substitute. That's why I listed Chievo also in his youth career. However, I'd prefer to hear your opinion before reverting, so let me know. Luxic (talk) 23:45, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
Redirects
Hi, when you create redirects like Elizabeth Candon and George Esper you may reduce the chance of an article being written about that person. If another editor sees a redlink, they may be motivated to create an article, whereas a blue redirect does not attract the same attention. Just a thought! WWGB (talk) 14:41, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

You just blew the RfA and passed with flying colors. I am no admin but let me be the first to congratulate you on a successful RfA passing with 100%. Filip Twardzik
I just wanted to get a clear opinion. He is up for deletion having played in the Scottish cup against a semi pro team. He played again today against St. Johnstone another pro team so I've voted keep. I asked a question there because surely if he plays for a pro team even if against a semi pro team in a notable round of the cup that should be enough to pass anyway. If not we need to tighten up the guidelines as already mentioned there. There are loads of articles out there who have been created on this basis especially in england, even a couple of mine to be honest. Just wanted to get your thoughts. Edinburgh Wanderer 14:56, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
- He meets it now. But what I'm asking is about other general cases obviously an amateur player is slightly different but a player who is full time for Celtic who plays at a notable level level of a cup that receives significant coverage surely is notable. I've always thought that possibly wrongly and given the amount of articles around based on a similar case some others do to. There dosent seem to be huge amounts of AFD's on similar cases. Which is why I'm asking about it to assertion where we stand on it. Edinburgh Wanderer 17:55, 4 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks that's all I wanted to know. You are aware of almost all written things around here which I am not and probably never will be. Might be worth a discussion further down the line just given similar articles but another time. Got to go get the season articles done. Edinburgh Wanderer 18:05, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

Your invitation to participate in a Wikimedia-approved survey in online behavior.
Hello, my name is Michael Tsikerdekis[2][3], currently involved as a student in full time academic research at Masaryk University. I am writing to you to kindly invite you to participate in an online survey about interface and online collaboration on Wikipedia. The survey has been reviewed and approved by the Wikimedia Foundation Research Committee.

User:Jun19 - Def'orts
He continues (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Felipe_Menezes&diff=475164662&oldid=470696143) and could not care less about our (mainly yours) warnings. Per his contributions, i see that several of his summaries contain the words "he is known as - example next - FÁBIO FERREIRA" (ALL the summary he can think of whenever he moves a page, for the rest i don't think he EVER writes one!) hence he goes and adds the def'ort as FABIO FERREIRA, instead of FERREIRA, FABIO.
Cheers, happy week - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:47, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
- No, it was only to illustrate he got the message and did not alter ANYTHING afterwards. Please don't edit Menezes' article now, i'm on it as we speak - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 17:11, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
Speaking of which...
I don't know if you're already an admin or not (judging by the cool t-shirt that hangs in this page i would say "yes", and i add my tardy congrats!), but i'd like to bring this stuff up (related to the above message) after a polite run-in i have had with a user in Fernando Dinarte Santos Silva's article.
This footballers is known as "Fernando", i am Portuguese so i should know (and i'm not being a hypocrite after what i said in my last message, it's different, JUN19's approach is that EVERY player in Brazil, safe the ones that are known by nicknames, should have their defaultsorted with name/surname, which is 100% inaccurate). Portuguese/Spanish/Brazilian footballers all have this naming specifications about them, in many many cases. Yes i know, the common WP standard is surname first, first name second (i.e. MORRISON, JIM; OBAMA, BARACK; ROONEY, WAYNE; SNOWMAN, GIANT). But couldn't we adapt the modus operandi to meet this situation? I think that people should be - and will be - looking for the sportsperson they want to find under the letter for which they are best known, some folks don't even know what is the sportsperson's full name or any other name for that matter outside the sports name.
I don't think that DEF'ORT rules are that adamant. After all, rules can be changed no? Kind regards - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:40, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
- From what i see (and it's a bit mind-boggling for me), people still continue to dismiss EXTERNAL LINKS as reliable sources overall. BOTH external links (Portuguese as the player) call him "Fernando". --Vasco Amaral (talk) 19:06, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
Neil Price
Hi there; yes it would make sense if the page at Neil Price offered the reader the choice of whether they wanted the footballer or the archaeologist, so I think we should change that redirect page. (Midnightblueowl (talk) 16:37, 7 February 2012 (UTC))
- I am afraid that I am unsure just how to locate these pages; if you could let me know I will happily redirect them. (Midnightblueowl (talk) 16:42, 7 February 2012 (UTC))

Thanks for your help. --Anthonyhcole (talk) 14:14, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
SNOWY (sorry, you're an admin now, it's MR.SNOWY!), can you lend a hand please?
This chap (Portuguese as i am) continues to add info in this player's article which is POV, a bit-WEASEL too and 100% unreferenced. Now, he added a message to me completely disgusted by my previous summary, when i was more assertive than anything else when removing the bit(s).
I have already re-replied, telling this is not the way WP works. Can you please remove the POV/unref'd bits too so he sees i am not against him, just trying to have a good article. Can we expect legal threats like the other time? Sigh...
--Vasco Amaral (talk) 15:25, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- I have tried to make amends with this person, to no avail, he continues to be sarcastic an unfriendly towards me (please check my summary in Vicente to see if it was "out-of-this-world"). He also has sent me some refs (i have already told him that forums are not reliable, of course i was dismissed) which i will insert in article later today, but nothing else (again, my sad sentence: Have no friends in the real world, still have time to make enemies in the virtual one). --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:14, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- Last charmer, after my REPEATED apologies for summary and willingness to help improve Vicente's article: "you're a young man who has no idea what you're talking about" What the hey?! --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:20, 8 February 2012 (UTC)

- With the refs kindly provided by the other user, improved the piece, await for their comments/suggestions/other. Advice
Hi GiantSnowman, in the GA review I am doing the user has sourced the entire match report to one source. Is that a copyright violation, I thought it was but I'm not sure. Also congratulations on becoming an administrator. Adam4267 (talk) 18:09, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- No I mean in the match report section, all the actual match reporting is from source 66. Something made me think that was a copyright violation but I'm probably wrong. Also do you know if the FAs website has been redesigned recently, all the links to it have stopped working and they might have to be replaced. Adam4267 (talk) 18:34, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi ..
Hey there Snowman. First a very belated congratulations. I noticed a couple of your posts here and there and though I drop by and say hi. You've probably not heard of me as I was away underground so to speak for quite some time, but I just wanted to mention something. If you ever feel discouraged, and want a friendly ear - I'd be more than happy to provide it. I remember my first few months as an admin. were often filled with uncertainty, and I messed up a LOT. (still do). I often think a day later - "dang, I wish I wouldn't have put it that way" .. or, "geesh I wish I would have just read and not posted". It's tough out here - even tougher now it seems than it was back in 08, 09. Hang in there. Cheers. — Ched : ? 16:29, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

MSU Interview
Dear GiantSnowman,
My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, were it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
So a few things about the interviews:
- Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
- Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
- All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
- All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
- The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.
Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.
If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.
Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 19:35, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

hello giantsnowman , an editor added a speedy deletion nomination for a karateka Guillaume Cossou who won a bronze medal at the european karate championships at kumite,i feel being a medalist at european or world championships should satisfy notablity, if you want you can join the discussion,i come to you because you are an experianced contributor,i will respect your nomination whether it is for or against deletion,at least i know an experienced editor took a look ,thanks

Really? I read the guidelines at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion#How_to_nominate_multiple_related_pages_for_deletion and it wasn't clear. It even says "To make it easier for those participating in the discussion, it may be helpful to bundle all of them together into a single nomination." So that's what I did. Do you think this is appropriate for the lead of an article. [4] Porridge added it I'm not reverting it. Personally i don think it is and if should be there then it would be some where in the main body. I can see where recent edits are going so distancing myself.Edinburgh Wanderer 13:20, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
- It would just end badly if i get involved. It still has the potential for that but I'm not getting involved. Yeah if i see something like that I'm going to ask others for advice as for me to do so is just going to inflame it.Edinburgh Wanderer 13:31, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
Big Jock Knew article
Hi GiantSnowman, I came across this article after User:The C of E talked about it on the Jock Stein page. I don't think its an appropriate article because firstly, it isn't even about the song (that word being used loosely) and the word song isn't even in the title. It just seems to be a way for The C of E to try and get his views onto Wikipedia after he wasn't allowed to put them in the Jock Stein article. Also it seems to be lacking inherent notability on its own and the majority of sources don't seem to be mainly about that song. Although I'm sure there is a policy somewhere saying that just because something can be sourced doesn't mean it should be on Wikipedia. Anyway I didn't want to AfD it myself because I'm may be wrong and also I'm sure The C of E will just say I want it deleted because I'm a Celtic fan. So I leave it up to you, thanks. To add insult to injury, the current club field, which read RETIRED, was "corrected" to RETTIRED...maybe just to spite me? I have suffered these situations once or twice here, when combatting the vandals...
Page protection is out of the picture or not? As always, kind regards -
IFFHS
Saw this: IFFHS all-time leading goalscorer , thought of this, thought of you. Thank you. - Cloudz679 13:48, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
- Might be worth salting the page(s)? Will keep an eye out. Cloudz679 14:00, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
- Next time it will appear in the usual place though. Thanks to the bots for that. Cheers - Cloudz679 14:06, 17 February 2012 (UTC)

Another article
Hi again. I am sure this article qualifies for CSD but I don't know exactly which one, as it's not a real person! Chris Fryatt. Thank you. - Cloudz679 14:10, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
Hello GiantSnowman, I've added a number of sources to the article. Would care to have a look at them and perhaps reconsider your vote in this matter? Regards, —Ruud 20:00, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi there SNOWY, VASCO here,
First things first: this user, a sock of User:Cyperuspapyrus and at least another one i can't remember, has been blocked, good! Now, for the mindblowing bit: in several edits, he took to removing storylines and/or links (as here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%C3%81lvaro_Silva_(footballer)&diff=next&oldid=473469586 and here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jaime_Celestino_Dias_Bragan%C3%A7a&diff=472443518&oldid=472430637), without a word in summary!
Result (more mind bombs): in almost one month, he received ZERO messages about his behaviour, and no doubt he'll create another account (after seeing User:Pararubbas' 70+ accounts, people will want to break that record), pityful...
You have been briefed, happy weekend - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 13:33, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi, this edit appears to be a page move undertaken without using the correct procedure, and resulting in the page history being lost, and the talk page being a different name. I believe in any case that the page should be called V-League, and there are posts on this at the talk page. I'd be grateful if you could have a look into this. Thanks. Eldumpo (talk) 14:10, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
I am sorry to keep bothering you (apparently i am, but i am only trying to make WP better), but this user does the following: he engages in POV like no other in footballers' articles, sometimes using references, but sometimes not even that (as in Necati Ateş here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Necati_Ate%C5%9F&diff=475200128&oldid=475161842 or Paulo César Fonseca do Nascimento here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Paulo_C%C3%A9sar_Fonseca_do_Nascimento&diff=476054838&oldid=476054737).
Could you please mediate? I find that more often than not, my intentions are misread (most of my messages, i admit, are not the best in "technical approach") and people get all upset and come to my page with an attitude (one guy, two or three years ago, when i told him to stop removing categories in the articles - he thought that, once a player stopped playing for a club and moved to another, the pertinent category had to be removed (example, when Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid, the MANCHESTER UNITED F.C. PLAYERS cat had to "go" - replied to me "You're playing God in WP, that's not nice"). Latest example? The quarreling in Vicente Lucas' article, when the guy told me i was a "young man who knew nothing" just for telling him about the importance of (no) original research; i'm through with that, i "chose" you as one of only three or four confidants, hope you don't mind, the rest i don't want to know about, but surely want to keep improving the articles and the site overall.
Attentively, thanks very much in advance, happy week - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 19:37, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
Hello, Im not very familiar with Wikipedia, but I do not really understand why the edit (correcting the date of birth) I made on the page of Julius Nota was reverted. I knew Julius Nota in person and I know when he was born. User:Jun19 - Defaultsort
Hi there SNOWMAN, VASCO "here",
he continues with the stuff (see here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=F%C3%A1bio_Bahia&diff=next&oldid=478129478), and he continues to be tongue-tied and "summary-tied". Ah, and his undiscussed page moves ALWAYS contain the same summary, the ONLY ones which he writes ("X player is known as Y").
Attentively - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 19:46, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
- Another (here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Giancarlo_da_Silva_Moro&diff=next&oldid=478360941)! Surprise, surprise, has not joined (nor will he!) the discussion, i'll eat my hat if he does... --Vasco Amaral (talk) 15:10, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
- And how bout this move he did (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:GianCarlo2012&redirect=no)? Odd, to say the least...Multiple accounts, anyone? --Vasco Amaral (talk) 15:11, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
- Would you see fit if i send him a message in Portuguese as it seems to be his mothertongue also (operating 99,999999999999% on Brazilian football)? I mean do you think it's of relevance? If it is not and you have got everything in check, i'd rather not, because as i have told you, really don't feel being in touch with a whole lot of users now :(
Regards - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 19:33, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
- WOW! He responded! Certes, no insults or attacks, but his answer was more of the same. It reads: "I think that in DEFAULTSORT the name should be how players are known, in Brazil most athletes are known by first name or nick, diferently to Europe. That is my opinion."
I have already replied respectfully that his opinion is not that of the majority of the "community", thus asking for some compliance. Let's wait for more... Regards - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 17:58, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
- Second reply: "Why can famous players have their nickname or first name in first place in DEF'ORT, and those less famous can't?" He said that because i agreed with him that players like Raí, Romário or Robinho could be ordered under the letter "R", as they are known by their first name. I have already re-replied that it has nothing to do with fame.
Sigh, can't see this exchange of opinions ending well, i guess he'll continue doing as until now... --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:10, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Snowman, sorry to bother you with this again but you're the only admin I know and you're very active in WP:FOOTY so I figured you'd know best with regards to this issue. The user in question continues to add false stats to player articles and every time he edits I usually have to revert his work or fix it. I've already mentioned to you his unsourced BLP's and how he continually edits "Notable Players" sections to include every single foreign player. I've left him plenty of messages on his talk page but I doubt he even reads them. Long story short, I want to take this to WP:AN or WP:ANI (not sure which, or if they're the same). Do you think I have a case? If I do, what should I be showing them? Any help would be appreciated. It's getting tiring to have to continually keep an eye on his edits every time. How can the article be tabloid Trivia when it was published on Twitter for all to see?
Your comments
I would expect better from an experienced editor and Admin. Power has gone to your head I'm afraid. Content is regulated by policy, not opinion and certainly not a newbie Admin's narrow view. And you are also wrong, there are others supporting a change. I suggest getting your facts correct and keeping your snide remarks to yourself might be a good way to kick off your Admin. career otherwise you might find it shorter than you hoped. Don't reply here, there or on my talk page because I have absolutely no respect for you. You are supposed to be an upholder of policy, that is why you were given special responsibilities, not to protect your friends or push your own non-policy point of view. Leaky Caldron 12:43, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
- Are you serious? "You are both mistaken" = lol. The only person arguing the same as you Leaky is...you! Everyone else seems to agree on the matter." Firstly, using LOL towards anyone you are in dispute with is a clear jibe and an attempt to belittle a fellow editor in a public space. I would find it unacceptable from anyone, from an admin. it is inexcusable. The only person arguing the same as you Leaky is...you! Again, a belittling jibe compounded by the fact that you are factually wrong. At least 2 other editors have commented along similar lines to myself. "Everyone else seems to agree on the matter" - plainly wrong. What in fact you are demonstrating is a willingness to join in with the general view but failing to distance yourself by acknowledging another editor's fair argument which is based on policy and not entirely unsupported by others. If you were doing your job as an experienced editor, much less an Admin. you would be attempting to see the dispute from all perspectives, even if your own opinion in the matter is fixed. At least you would then appear to be even handed. The pointy style of your attack on my view, the "LOL" and the attempt at a joke on my behalf amounts to a personal attack. - and I told you to make whatever change that will improve the accuracy of the NUFC article. Clearly, given the cabal, you will be entitled to make the change whereas I am not welcome to incorporate encyclopaedic, reliably sourced changes to the infobox. Why do I keep raising the fact that you are an Admin?, because I expect the highest standard, whether you are acting as an Admin. or not. You should not take sides in a dispute without clear justification, disregard policy based changes due to some prior agreement and above all, not demean and belittle good faith editors who just happen to have stumbled across a clique who seek to control all soccer related content. Leaky Caldron 13:59, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
- The NUFC article, the one I'm talking about, has not been updated. Both the infobox and lead contain editor preference, not reliably sourced fact. Leaky Caldron 14:12, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
- Apart from the pipe to SJP, which is entirely correct, that is exactly what you and "57" refused to tolerate last week [5]. This has never been (for me) about the SJP article. If you now agree that the NUFC change is authentic then I would be obliged if you would make it and please tell "57" to get off my back. Leaky Caldron 14:28, 24 February 2012 (UTC)

With edits such as this one (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Renan_Foguinho&diff=478620610&oldid=478620525), he shows he has no intention of abiding by the community's guidelines (did he change the person's default to FOGUINHO, RENAN? No he did not!), let alone the fact he continues with his undiscussed page moves...
I give up, i leave it in your capable hands from now on. Regards and all that - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 01:11, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- It has already been moved to RENAN FOGUINHO, by you know who. As i said, if you ask my help on this or any other subject, i will gladly oblige, but will not start any discussion on any topic i feel is wrong (unless it's with you or the other two/three confidants i told you about), a bit tired of JUN19 and akin saying "talk to the hand" (even if i agree with you and say the FOGUINHO edit was correct, JUN pretty much operates on his own). --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:42, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
- I guess you misread my meaning, hence your total silence to my last THREE messages (one complaining about serious vandalism). To soothe you and confirm that i am here to help and be a part of the project (i only told i have difficulty talking and/or approaching (about) certain topics), JUN came today asking what he could do about articles that are duplicated, i gladly informed him about the correct procedures.

I thought your omission was remiss so I told you. Why is that wrong? Just like your friend in the diffs., you are involved in a content dispute with me and so mutual respect goes out the window. (talk page stalker) Okay guys, c'mon. It's Sunday night, my team lost this weekend, England lost against Wales, (in other, good news, Norwich were beaten, although it sounds like they didn't deserve it)... what I'm trying to say is let's just move on and focus on the encyclopaedia. We all (me included) need to work harder with new editors, and we all need to work harder with each other. Let's not spoil things, I keep hearing (from various sources) what a great and collaborative project we have at WP:FOOTY and you two are both immensely important to that reputation. Olive branch to each of you, no need for hugs or anything, but please can we share the love a bit? The Rambling Man (talk) 20:45, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

- Indeed. Well my team lost considerably worse than yours and against a considerably lesser team (no offence intended if Giant is a Baggie). I'm looking forward to seeing a proper consensus discussion about stadium names and will play my part but I'm too tainted (seen in bad faith) to initiate it. Leaky Caldron 20:59, 26 February 2012 (UTC)

Hello! I really appreciate what you did and doing. Really. I want your attention on Kali, a hindu goddess. There are many articles with exact title listed under the disambiguation page but don't you think that "Kali" should be a disambiguation page and the current Kali should be moved to Kali (goddess), Kali (Hinduism) or any other suitable title.?? Or you think that Kali, a hindu goddess is much important and should be shown first to a user than a list under disambiguation page? . TariButtar

Fussballdaten template
Yes, but don't you think that in an inline citation it's better to use the cite web template? --Jaellee (talk) 19:38, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- It's no thing to fight about – if you like it better with the template, change it back. In general, I think this template is a good thing. I've converted lots of Fussballdaten links in the external link sections in the past months. --Jaellee (talk) 19:49, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- I think templates of this type really are better off under the external links section. Inline citations should generally use full citation markup (
{{Citation}}
), in this case, with parameters including accessed date etc. If fussballdaten.de is used as a source, that's fine, but should not need to be removed from the external links section as well, as was the case recently in the Nigerian footballers playing for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen. But this is only my opinion thus far and I don't fancy an argument about it either. Jared Preston (talk) 20:25, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi GiantSnowman, I informed so that you could bear witness to the discussion outcome, because you know me well, in that I do not go out intending to vandalize association football players Wikipedia articles the way Oleola and Basalisk portrayed me as doing. GiantSnowman, why is it that no Wikipedia administrator is complaining about my edits on association football players articles in the way civilian editors such as Basalisk and Oleola have done?.
GiantSnowman, do you not think that if what Basalisk says is correct that my edits were (all my edits) are causing harm to Wikipedia, then I would have been permanently blocked from Wikipedia many months ago or possibly a very long time ago and not have been able to make the over 5,000 edits that I have contributed to Wikipedia in the 10 months since I joined Wikipedia on 24 April 2011 (see here). - Regards. 15:52, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
Technicality - Help
Hi there SNOWMAN (oh what would i wiki-do without you!),
by the way, first things first: thanks for being bothered to answer when i cried for help (in the words of the vandal, a "faggot crybaby"), the other two users/admins could not be bothered with one single word. I know it may seem a bit exaggerated to write to so many people, but my desperation was (is?) reaching a pretty high point, each day that passes i rue the day i started editing here, just do not leave because i do not want the vandals to win, and also 'cause i am...well, hooked, so to speak.
So, after that, let's get started, keeping in mind the order in the title of my message: 1 - about the XXXX693/SCOELHO86 situation (a checkuser led by User:Satori Son last year has already proven they edited from the same computer): i know that sometimes different people may use the same IP address, as the computers are located in cybercafes, libraries, etc, etc. My doubt is, is there any possiblity that the same IP address is located in different households (albeit in the same building or so)? If not, it's pretty much obvious that the two are the same (as Satori put it once, playing the "good cop, bad cop" mindgame with me), the doubt is killing me!
2 - Could you please provide me with your mail address just for one thing? I want to send you a message with a new user name for me, then you can do the needed changes to my account so that i can get rid of this Colombian (no word, lest i break the WP guidelines again) on my back?
Thanks X 2, keep it up my friend - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:16, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
- But you can do it for me right (the username change)? I don't want to give the nice person that is the vandal any clues, because if it's going to remain the same (the harassment that is) i'm fine with VascoAmaral. --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:44, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
- Right, and can't you do it on my behalf? --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:48, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
- One final question: after the name change, anything remains of my previous account? If so, then we should not bother changing anything. If not and we can wipe the slate clean, could you please go to WP:Changing username and ask (with my total permission) my name is changed (i'll send you an e-mail with my new name)? Thanks.
Gotta love the WP freedom of speech some embrace, with one "person" coming to our page and calling us a faggot, a cry baby and an idiot just for politely disagreeing with them, adding he hates Portuguese people, and (almost) nothing happens even though blocks/warnings occur. Very sad i feel indeed... Please reply to the above ASAP. --Vasco Amaral (talk) 23:12, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
- "Great", just saw now, i have more than 50,000 edits, thus am not eligible to the username move. Vandal is coming...Could you do this crybaby just one more favour? Please put my talkpage on your watchlist. Kind regards - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 23:17, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
Another issue (will i be insulted here too): could you please help out with this user?
I have let him know - respectfully - on several occasions, that the links he adds to players in La Liga are superfluous (you can't click anywhere, just a pic pretty much, example here http://www.lfp.es/?tabid=113&Controltype=fju&cj=7734&d=1&t=111), especially with all the other links already available, also SPANISH and also with pics. So far, ZERO words in feedback, and he seems to engage also in the following: i revert him, he waits for a couple of weeks then re-reverts me and/or adds it to players he had not yet.
Boy am i a sucker for punishment! :) Any thoughts? - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 23:43, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
at ANI
Hi GS, I just want to let you know that I used a comment of yours for my defence at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#Unfounded_sanction_and_possible_admin_tools_abuse. It is a really strange situation where I ended up ganded-up and sanctioned without any logical reasons, so I really needed to put things in context to defend myself. I apologise if inconvenient, and as allways, I send you best regards, FkpCascais (talk) 07:27, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry GS, but I will not take a sanction that goes against WP policies just because a few admins want it. They are not being able to provide one single diff to demonstrate one signle fault on my side. If you notece, I was sanctioned for discussing. Yes, discussing!!! They invented the accusation of TE while I didn´t even edited the article, and I was accused of forumshopping without ever having doubled any thread. Sorry, but as you can see, the previous sanction, which is also kind of polemical, but anyway, is also used as excuse "Oh, you have been sanctioned already", so no, I wan´t take a second sanction, and this one clearly off-line, so in the future they would sanction me again, by saying: "Oh, you are problematic, you have many sanctions...". GS, their arguments are wrong, not backed by diffs and policies, and all they do is providing generical unfair excuses instead of correcting the situation. I explained myself, and I even asked "please", and all I got was a very hard sanction without any base on policies, and a kind of insulting "go edit somewhere else". GS, this is outragius, I would have no problems in taking the sanction if I have made something wrong, but I didn´t, and I challenge them to provide my worste diff of this case, just for everyone to see how ridiculous and wrong this sanction is. GS, if you have a bit of time, please see by yourself that I have not breaked any single policy, I have limited myslef to discussion, and I have receved one of the hardest possible sanctions (users breaking several policies don´t receve such a sanction, I see no reason why should I be discriminated and shut it up). Anyway, thanks for the attention. FkpCascais (talk) 01:41, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- No I didn´t. Please tell me how exactly I violated it? No one is able to provide one single dif to demonstrate it, and I am surprised you repeated the accusation without telling me how did I violated it. There is no way I violated it, if I limited myself to discuss. Don´t you see the irony here? GS, please don´t follow the pattern of your fellow colleagues of telling accusations without having evidence for them. They made a precipitated decition and they simply refuse to rectify it. I challenge them to provide evidence of one single policy I broke (with diffs and explaining how exactly the policy was violated and to demonstrate how a hard 6 months sanction is applied in response to it).
- GS, not only I followed everything strictly by the book, but I also removed myself way before the sanction was applied. I got this sanction for purelly revengfull reasons. FkpCascais (talk) 14:38, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- What is clear? They concluded I violated TE and FORUMSHOP, but they don´t provide any diffs to back that, and I didn´t even edited the article, I ONLY discussed. FkpCascais (talk) 15:13, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- Don´t limit yourself to read what they said, but check the facts and see if they backed their accusations. FkpCascais (talk) 15:15, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- I aksed Causa sui to extend the protection of the article, I reported to ANI personal attacks and lack of comitment at discussion by DIREKTOR, and I asked Jimbo for advise about about AniMate having provided clear phalse information twice in a row at my ANI report. None of them is repeated. Anyway, it was all well over for already weeks by the time I was sanctioned. I was completelly abscent from the issue for entire two weeks, so the sanction is purelly punitive, and that is not how WP policies recomend. FkpCascais (talk) 15:24, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- I could have been eventually warned, or advised, but sanctioned for half a year? FkpCascais (talk) 15:27, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- Don´t you see the irony here? I was blocked 2 times years ago, and the only ever sanction I got was the one which is actually controversial, as I made 2 reverts and 1 edit, while DIREKTOR made 4 clear reverts in the same 24 hours. And you know well the sanction was "sneakingly" imposed without me being noticed and without me having had a chance to say a word. Also, the sanction was 1RR per 48 hours restriction, something I had no difficulties whatsoever to pass trought, a clear indication that I am not a problematic editor neither an edit-warrior. The previous ban being used as excuse is the cumulus of irony, and another reason why I shouldn´t take this unfounded sanction, as they are obviously used to manipulate further snactions and blockes as clearly seen here.
- I wasn´t still provided with one single diff nor one single clear indication of any breaking of policy by my side. On the contrary, I actually did everything by the policies, I didn´t reverted nor edit-warred (while the other side did), I discussed and favoured compromise among other users, I complained when I had reasons to, I left the discussion when it was over-heated and kept myself away despite not being happy with the outcome. And my reward is half-year sanction? Purelly punitive btw. GS, I haven´t broke a single policy, I dare to say that in that extremelly hard situation I even did good. FkpCascais (talk) 15:42, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- What "boom"? What 1RR restriction? The article had no restriction whatsoever, that 1RR restriction was imposed to me afterwords, and I never had one single problem with it during the period it was on action, and anyway, it was the previous sanction, and it is over now. I am talking of this new sanction. FkpCascais (talk) 16:02, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- You said "boom", not me, and I didn´t understood the context of it... I never intended to badger you, sorry if you felt that way. Best regards, FkpCascais (talk) 16:24, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

No, I should apologise, I involved you in this, and then I take my angry tone into your talk page. That tone of mine is certainly also another reason why I get myself missunderstood unfortunatelly. What is frustrating to me is that no one is actually looking to my actions and confirming them. GS, I wouldn´t have any problems in admiting my fault, but I really don´t see any single fault on my side. I didn´t edited the article, I didn´t edit warred, I discussed sources (if I can be accused of breaking TE at my comments, I would like to see at least one as exemple), when confronted by disruption I complained, and to top it all, I abandoned the "crime scene" :) long before the sanction was imposed. The only negative aspect is that I complained at Jimbo´s page about admin AniMate providing phalse statements, but his statements at ANI are actually phalse and malitius, in a sense that he intentionally wanted to turn my complain into a boomerang... So again, I don´t see exactly what better could I have done?
But on the other side,... well, even here I am doing my best to talk only about myself, as recomended by policies, despite the fact that I could make a list of "their" actions...
I just noteced DIREKTOR talked about me today at ANI... Incredible! He says I will edit-war, while I clearly don´t edit-war, but he allways does... And then people beleave in his words, they start thinking we are all nationalists, and get fed up, while I get sanctioned without knowing well why.
I explained myself here, and you know the AE report. When you have time (no rush), if you can, I would really be extremelly greatfull if you could really point me out where exactly I did wrong. In the meantime I will edit more other areas of our interes. :) FkpCascais (talk) 20:26, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
But I will also certainly understand if you don´t want to further get involved. It is just that it is curious to see that a number of admins are backing up eachother, however no one of them is able to show me one single disruptive action of mine worth some sort of sanction... Actually, this is what makes my defense more complicated, as numerous generical accusations are done against me without clear evidence, so it makes my defense more difficult, as it implies I did something wrong, but without showing me exactly what, so I could defend myself or admit my guilt, if that comes to be the case. FkpCascais (talk) 20:33, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
Clean start
Oh, that's a nice one! If the Colombian chap appears again, i'm outta here as VascoAmaral. Obviously will not tell anyone i am this or that account, but of course will not deny it either when "confronted" (we'll just have to ask/answer in riddles :) :) :)). And all the more reason to finally TONE DOWN on my summaries, very stupid sometime...
Cheerio! --Vasco Amaral (talk) 15:20, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, and in case you have misunderstood it: don't lose my talkpage out of sight just yet, i said i will only start afresh if (when?!) the other comes to stalk me again, not before. Until then, same ole' Vasco still :) --Vasco Amaral (talk) 17:34, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
I have a feeling i could maybe make him meet GNG as he has a lot of press coverage. He has had two previous deleted articles. I know some admins are willing to provide a copy of the deleted text as a userspace draft. Is this something you would be willing to do or check to see if there is anything worth saving in it. Thanks either way.Edinburgh Wanderer 23:06, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
- Cool thought that might be the case. I'll work on it there are that many articles on him for a variety of reasons so I'm sure I can get it to meet GNG. Thanks for that. How are you getting on with the admin tools are you used to them yet. Edinburgh Wanderer 10:35, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
As you will no doubt be aware he is currently on loan at Airdrie United, though given current events at Rangers that may change shortly! Centre Stand (talk) 18:35, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

- Sorry did you get a chance to take a look. Edinburgh Wanderer 13:48, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- thanks I've got slightly mixed feelings on it purely because a lot of them are to do with his court case but there are two that aren't. I've read an article on him in the Scotsman which I'm trying to find. But would rather seek an other opinion. Edinburgh Wanderer 14:26, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- two of the sources are about the under 21s so ilm not sure that's totally the case. He's a notable figure you don't get that many hits otherwise. My personal opinion is he passes it. My searches have been hampered by the court case because when you search they come up first as most recent. There is one from the Scotsman which I'm trying to locate which I read recently I just cannot locate. My concern is others may not. Do you think he's notable even if the majority is the court case. I just don't know. Edinburgh Wanderer 10:55, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

- that makes two of us. Every search is proving tricky as all the more recent stuff is masking it. I'll have another look the night. I'm not overly bothered eithier way I think he will make a pro appearance one of these days. My gut is he is notable but you just never know GNG is always a tricky one.
