Geographical coordinates[edit]

Hi. Darjeeling has exact coordinates of 27°02′30″N, 88°15′47″E (written on top right corner of the article). Clicking on it, and following the Google map link takes to Darjeeling perfectly. However, the coordinates used in the locator map (27.03° N 88.16° E) takes one to a point slightly off the town in Google map. IMO, it is due to approximation of values. In India locator map, can values be put in minutes and seconds, rather than decimal? If not, how to convert the two styles perfectly, so that the two links (the two coordinates), on clicking, takes one to the same image? Darjeeling is in FAC now, so I thought I should clarify this.--Dwaipayan (talk) 11:46, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ganesh, I noticed a similar problem with Jammu. I know we have spoken about the approximation before. But Jammu city has spilled over into Pakistan!! I dont know if its only in my computer (using IE6) -- Lost(talk) 15:55, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Same with Amritsar. From what I observe, even if we were to use the dms method, we would still need to convert it to a decimal notation to plot it on the map. Perhaps if we made the decimal degree location more accurate, it would work? --Nichalp 13:33, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Mahuva[edit]

Dear Sir,

Mahuva port is located in Bhavnagar district, which is largest municipality of district. Yet you have to change the maps with each other, I do earlier but again you change it. Mahuva from Surat is very small town, which is not important city. Mahuva (Bhav) is famous for its wooden toys and onion dehydration plant.

Hello Ganesh. Hoep all is well. I never congratulated you for Ganeshbot (beter late than never). That bot has done some great work. Can you do something similar for the list of MPs of the Lok Sabha. I have created a sample template for the bios. Have a look here. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 14:15, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

INCOTW[edit]

Hello. Your search for a volunteer is over. I will take care of INCOTW. I have exams from August 21 to August 28. But that should not be a problem. Take care. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 15:49, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the barnstar. I am sure I will find something to keep me busy once Ahmedabad is featured. See you in October. Enjoy! - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 16:16, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Can Bismillah Khan, Raghunath Karve, Bhanu Athaiya and Social Reform Movement in Maharashtra be removed from INCOTW citing the rules? And in such a case, would the articles be considered failed noms and archived, or just rejected noms? Can Ahmedabad also be removed on the grounds that it is an almost FA? - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 16:38, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Have also left a message on Chirag's talk page informing him that I have rejected the 4 nominations for now. - Aksi_great (talk - review me) 17:15, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

De-orphaning Ganeshbot kids![edit]

Hi Ganesh. Have a look at this. That list and more that link to Ganeshbot kids would help. Articles on members of the Lok Sabha, biographies of judges of India, etc., would be candidates for that. Just a thought. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 13:00, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
