Hey Eric

I hope you and the family are well. Today I managed to get banned from a Facebook group for saying “You know what, if I went into a pub and pontificated like that, somebody would tell me to fuck off.” I think I have finally walked a mile in your shoes. Only a few more miles to go then.;-) Eric Corbett 16:58, 30 March 2019 (UTC)
I sure do miss your wisdom and your great sense of humor. :-( Gandydancer (talk) 17:16, 30 March 2019 (UTC)
It's a shame things turned out the way they did, but my departure one way or another had been inevitable for years. C'est la vie. Eric Corbett 17:23, 30 March 2019 (UTC)

GA hit again

Eric, you helped me years ago to get the Wikipedia page "International Aerial Robotics Competition” to Good Article Status where it has remained with only a few Mission updates for over a decade. As you may recall, a user named Cnzx put a bizarre tag on the article back in February which you removed. It seems that Cnzx has some problem with the topic/author/who knows? because he’s back at tagging it with things like, “This article's tone or style may not reflect the encyclopedic tone used on Wikipedia” and the “detail may not interest“ most readers. I doubt seriously that the article, which has not changed in tone or level of detail since it was deemed a “Good Article”, would have ever achieved GA status were these claims valid. Would you take a look at it and see what you think? If this is just some sort of “official vandalism” by Cnzx, is there some way to stop it?  ⁃ Firewall 23:33, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

I will simply say that there are many editors like Cnzx who are always on the lookout for opportunities to display how much more they think they know than you do; their job is to make your life a misery. All you can do is to ignore them and hope that they'll go away, or do as I've done and abandon Wikipedia to its inevitable fate. Eric Corbett 21:05, 10 April 2019 (UTC)
We can only hope that the Cnzx's of the world will take up a new hobby. Thank you for your help early on to get the article to a GA status. I'll try to keep it GA (along with other GA articles I've succeeded in generating) until the fight is overwhelming. Sadly for Wikipedia, I don't have time to fight with editors who derive a sense of power from imposing their will/view point on others. The editor who reverted Cnzx stated the case in the Edit Summary about as well as one could.  ⁃ Firewall 03:58, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
