Next New Democratic Party leadership election[edit]

Hi there, We don't have such thing as "biennoal party," but the IP is persistent! (Mona778 (talk) 23:03, 10 April 2016 (UTC))[reply]

You were persistent too, and it turns out you were wrong. Next time, please check your sources rather than attack IPs. Electoralist (talk) 23:15, 10 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Interim Leader Reply[edit]

Sorry for the late reply. I believe that since the party elected him at the leadership convention in 2012 and since he is still leader, than he is not an interim one. He is just the main one serving out his two years until there is a new one. Plus, the Wiki NDP page once again lists him as the main leader (No "interim" word beside his name), so I think it's best that we leave it at that. Nike4564 (talk) 18:16, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Moving articles[edit]

Please note, for future information, that to move an article you should press the "move" button rather than copy/paste and redirect as occured today at Toronto Wolfpack. The unregistered editor was trying to do it right, but you reverted them! Thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:54, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation pages[edit]

Hello, Electoralist. When you moved Stephen Langdon to a new title and then changed the old title into a disambiguation page, you may not have been aware of WP:FIXDABLINKS, which says:

When creating disambiguation pages, fix all resulting mis-directed links.
Before moving an article to a qualified name (in order to create a disambiguation page at the base name, to move an existing disambiguation page to that name, or to redirect that name to a disambiguation page), click on What links here to find all of the incoming links. Repair all of those incoming links to use the new article name.

It would be a great help if you would check the other Wikipedia articles that contain links to "Stephen Langdon" and fix them to take readers to the correct article. Thanks. R'n'B (call me Russ) 14:59, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for June 5[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nova Scotia New Democratic Party, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Robert Chisholm. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Madeleine Meilleur[edit]

Hi, rather than edit war about this, I suggest the article stay as is until the cabinet shuffle rather than rely on a source that is clearly wrong. EncyclopediaUpdaticus (talk) 20:30, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@EncyclopediaUpdaticus: Actually, while yesterday's news articles said the resignation as MPP was effective immediately I see that more recent articles say she's resigning as an MPP "soon" so I'll defer to the more recent info. However, your edit note isn't quite correct. In fact, you can be in cabinet without being an MP (or Senator) or MPP but convention is that one can only do this or a short period of time - ie there have been several people historically who have been appointed to cabinet without being in parliament but it is expected that they will seek a seat very soon either in a by-election or general election and will resign from cabinet if they are unsuccessful (eg Pierre Juneau, Andrew McNaughton - although in McNaughton's case, he didn't resign from cabinet until he'd lost *two* by-elections meaning he was a minister without being in parliament for several months). Similarly, an incumbent cabinet minister who loses his/her set in a general election remains in cabinet until his/her successor is sworn in (or until the new government is sworn in in the case of governments that are defeated) so it wouldn't be unconstitutional for a cabinet minister to resign as an MPP but remain in cabinet for a few additional days until their successor is appointed. Canadian Senators[edit]

Hi, Just curious why the reversion from the new format (PM party colours highlighted) back to the old format? Thanks Canadianpoliticaljunkie (talk) 16:01, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

text on a colour background is really difficult to read for many people. Electoralist (talk) 19:54, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Next Parti Québécois leadership election listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Next Parti Québécois leadership election. Since you had some involvement with the Next Parti Québécois leadership election redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so.
