Disappointed

I know it is frustrating to have consensus go against you (Trust me, I've been on that side many times), but I am disappointed you took your toys and went home rather than at least hanging around a bit to help with the cleanup in spite of your frustration. There are thousands of links you (or your bot) added to now deleted portals that are now red and have to be removed, and by subst'ing User:Dreamy Jazz/tag onto the portal subpages (rather than just transcluding it), there are now thousands of subpages where the subst-ed text has to be removed manually by other editors. @UnitedStatesian: I have not the time now IRL and it has been chance that portal issues started at the same time. The first issue seems unnecessary anyway, as redlinked portals are not shown to the user. They are not really doing any harm being there, bar the at max 15 or so more characters in the page character count. If you want to remove them you could use AWB. The second issue can be dealt with using AWB. Just create a list of "what links here" to the now deleted deletion page, and then find and replace the text out from each page. Mserikajones, if the content is the same which was removed from the article, it is a direct copy and paste from sources. This isn't allowed. If it is your own words, a report showed that several sentences were also present in their own website. I would advise that you remove anything which you have copied and pasted. Also, a AfC editor will come along soon to approve or reject the draft you have submitted. They will most likely reject it, as it is written in a promotional way. For example sf.citi helps uphold the San Francisco legacy of supporting innovative thinking and serving all San Franciscans. with the only source to their own website is very promotional. My advise is to try and write the draft in a way which is less promotional. This may mean rewriting the entire draft, but this may have to be as the draft won't be accepted in the way it is currently written. • Just so you know, part of this process has been reverting the portals back to versions prior to when the automation tinkering began. These portals in an automated form stand a chance to be deleted, even if previous versions exist, because I'm of the opinion that some users just don't research by looking at revision histories. It's pretty clear at MfD at this point that many people don't like automated portals. A worst case scenario is that a portal with significant curation, that is presently automated or has aspects of automation in it, will be then WP:EAGERly nominated for deletion and then deleted per a flurry of multiple "per nom" !votes, without any consideration taken regarding previous versions. So, since it sounds like you plan on helping out, what do you have in mind? Are you only going to revert the additions of the G6 tags, or are you also going to work on portal reversions? Northamerica1000, I can do both. I was waiting for AWB access to do the removal of the deletion notices. I am technically still busy, but a AWB run here and there isn't much to ask. I don't know really where to start with reverting automation replacement, so I won't unless there is a list of portals needing converted back into their previous formats. I can only think of using the list of all portals archive pages and looking for portals with subpages, but this may not catch all portals. In answer, I'll run with AWB every so often over portal pages linking to the deletion page and I'll do what I can in reverting portals back to the old versions. @Northamerica1000: You would probably need to keep the noedit code on the box header subpages, as many old portals tried to use noedit but couldn't when the parameter was not passed to the template. The G6 tag is preventing the reversion of automated portals to pre-automated versions. Due to a lack of <noinclude> markup on the pages, the deletion notice appears repeatedly on main portal pages when attempting to restore original portal content. It's clear that the community is not digging the automated versions, but many are for reverting to pre-automation versions of the portals. As noted by Dlohcierekim, you have not shown how the hospital is notable. Although you have added two sources, it isn't enough to show that the hospital meets our notability guidelines for organisations and companies. The main point from our guideline is A company, corporation, organization, group, product, or service is notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Currently, I don't think that you have shown this. Also because the hosptial exists, does not mean that the hospital is inherently notable (so it means that you need to prove that the hosptial is notable and not that it just exists: See Our guideline on "No inherent notability"). Also you have not responded to my notice about your suspected paid editing. You need to disclose if you are being paid in any way for your contributions to the draft. Details on how you can do this are at your talk page. Please respond before making any more edits.

However, from what I can see your music group "DAVOS" is not notable for Wikipedia. For it to be notable, it needs to have been talked about in several independent and reliable sources (see our notability guideline for more information). Gerda Arendt, if you disagree with my move to the draft namespace, feel free to move it back. I moved it as it only created 2 hours before I moved it and it was a BLP without inline citations. I tend base my moving recently created articles to draft namespace based on whether I would pass it at AfC. In this case, I wouldn't accept it as it didn't have the minimum amount of inline citations for a BLP. As I say, if you want to move it back feel free. I will - now that it's there - not move it back, but let someone independent do it, or youself. I started working. What is your problem though? A soprano with four roles at the Vienna State Opera is notable, even if not cited inline. (It is now, inline, I mean.) An article for which eight links are waiting is notable, no? However, as long as the autobiography does not present the subject in a promotional way (i.e. the autobiography is based in fact and not in promotional guff) then it should be fine. Friedlisa, the draft was declined because it only used references to the companies website. You need to include a range of independent and reliable sources (such as independent newspaper articles etc.). This can be done by searching for sources in google. Please note that the editors at WPEQ, many no longer with the project, worked long and hard on these articles, to bring them up to speed based on the scientific knowledge at the time (some have a need for updates). Please don't be letting people who don't understand the topic start moving stuff around willy-nilly, particularly given the tremendous amount of research going on in this area. Montanabw, because the article's move was from the closure of an RM discussion, I would suggest that you open a new RM discussion, as currently, your move goes against a closed RM discussion and at least Iamnotabunny may still prefer the article title you have moved from. Your move may be reverted (I am staying out of this, so this won't be me) on the basis of the RM discussion and perceived opposition to the move.

Opening a new RM discussion will allow you to present evidence why the article shouldn't have been moved in a more formal setting and also allow other editors from your wikiproject to present their view. It will also give you precedent, if moved back to (or kept at) the original title, in case a similar RM is opened.

If you feel that the closure itself was not right, you may want to consider a move review, however, this would only be for discussing the validity of the closure (and not the arguments).

Just to note, the close wasn't early as it had run the 7 day normal length for being open. My discussion with the user was purely bringing into question the neutrality of the close. Also, notice isn't required or usually given (except in large RMs) to wikiprojects or article creators. It has been listed on the article alerts for the WikiProject, although I understand this is something which may have not been checked. It is mentioned in websites (from doing a quick Google search), but these are only websites that seem to have a connection to free masonary (and so may not be independent and reliable), however, there are multiple websites that say it existed. Antoine-Joseph Pernety does not have a inline citation for the information, so I can't say for sure, but there are multiple sources to support the article. If you want, you may want to read some of these sources (and perhaps use a quick Google translate to get the gist) to check if it existed.

Knmedia, the draft you have created (Draft:Dr Yvonne Jones) is a Biography of a living person. This means that extra requirements are needed to ensure that the information in the draft is correct before publishing. This includes having to use inline citations for contentious material (whether postitive or negative or neutral) per our policy on using inline citations. This means that you should cite everything you write using <ref></ref> tags.

Also, you currently have no references. References can be websites, news reports, books etc. which are used to support the information you write. For example, if I was to write She was the oldest child in the family I would need to find a reference that says that she was the oldest child in the family and then place it in the ref tags.

Tannim101, that is something that you will need to take up with Randykitty. From a quick glance, I am unsure if the draft currently meets WP:GNG. This is because there are a lot of sources used in the draft which don't cover the journal with significant coverage. From my quick look, I can only see three sources which cover the journal with more than a trivial mention. They are https://publons.com/journal/66726/journal-of-paramedic-practice, https://associationofairambulances.co.uk/airway/journal-of-paramedic-practice/ and https://www.phecit.ie/PHECC/Publications_and_Resources/Newsletters/Newsletter_Itmes/Autumn_2012/Journal_Of_Paramedic_Practice.aspx. If these sources were indepth, the draft still wouldn't meet WP:GNG as there are only three of them. Furthermore, the first source seems to be a database of journals and has very little information, the second and third sources have more information, but are still relatively small and don't give that much information. Basically, a lot of the sources are mainly focused on other things (i.e. they are a list of journals in the broader field, talk about a person mainly etc.)

In summary, to meet WP:GNG the draft needs to have more sources which give non-trivial information about the journal and are reliable and independent. If you can find more of these sources (either one's I missed in my quick check or elsewhere) then Randykitty's concerns may be met. Dreamy While I get what you're saying, using emergency_medicine_journal as an example, that uses two references, one is to the Journals own website! the second is just their impact factor being reported. The explanation lies in the different ways a journal can be regarded as notable. One is through GNG, which require multiple in-depth sources independent of the journal (which Publons is not, by the way). As Dreamy poutlined above, the draft does not meet GNG. The other way that a journal can be notable is by meeting NJournals (even though it is only an essay, it is generally followed at AfD discussions). A journal meets NJournals if it is included in highly selective databases. The Clarivate Analytics indexes (with the exception of ESCI) are such selective databases and if a journal has an impact factor, it is routinely kept at AfD. Inclusion in Scopus is also regarded as sufficient. CINAHL, I am afraid, is not. The Emergency Medicine Journal is actually quite notable, it's just that the article doesn't show it, as it not only has an impact factor, but is also included in several other reputable databases (Scopus, MEDLINE). how to save changes to a draft

Hello Dreamy Jazz, I am working on the draft for David Samrick (thank you for putting it back in drafts). I added a picture, but see nowhere to "save draft", so each time I leave the page, it is gone again. @Robertversteeg: Hello, when you are editing a page, the "Publish changes" button means that your edit is made to the page you are editing (in your case the draft). Although the name of this button is similar to publishing a draft into Wikipedia, it is not the same thing. Publishing a draft (or making a draft live) is done when the draft is moved into mainspace (where articles such as Elvis Presley and Albert Einstein are).

centiJimbo calculator

Hey there, I noticed you tinkering with the centiJimbo counter template, and I think you were trying to get it to read page watchers from a subpage? For one thing I noticed you used "usepage" instead of "userpage" in a few places, but I don't think that's what the problem is. I'm pretty sure that there is no way to programmatically read the number of watchers of a given page in the software, and anyway {{User Centijimbo calculator}} doesn't do it. With the "new" template you still have to look up the number of editors watching your page and pass it as a switch to the template, otherwise it pulls whatever default number was coded into the template. Just so you know!

Ivanvector, yes. I was trying to add the ability to customise the page which the website tool pointed to. I had assumed that, that tool was able to automatically update the number of watchers. I had made the change and then reverted it when it didn't "fix" the issue I was having. I had assumed that it wasn't working for me because it was on a subpage. The usepage parameter was supposed to force this template to point to my userpage.

It may be worth getting a variable set up which can return the number of watchers. For example, {{PROTECTIONLEVEL}} grabs and returns the protection level for a page (or a different page if specified). I assume that it would be as easy as implementing this into mediawiki. From what I can see custom magic words can be set up by adding them to the $magicWords dictionary. It may be worth seeing if there is support for such a magic word on VP. Kew1121, have you added these sources to the draft? (I am assuming you are talking about Draft:Kristopher Wright)

Currently it does not have anywhere near enough sources to be published. This is due to there only being two sources which support any information in the draft (the second website I am not sure what it is). The only two sources which seem to support anything are IMDb. Per Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources IMDb is listed as "Generally unreliable", so Outside exceptional circumstances, the source should not normally be used, and it should never be used for information about a living person.

If we consider the IMDb sources as external links which don't support anything, there are no sources in the draft. If you can add multiple sources which talk about the person in a significant way which are also independent and reliable (to meet the general notability guideline), then the draft will be accepted. However, from my check, I could not see that this person would meet this currently. If you can find the sources, then I will rereview the draft. Mringeup, the problem is that, as I have been saying all along, you need multiple sources to demonstrate notability. It does not matter about other pages. The polices are clear. The draft will not be accepted until it is shown to meet the General notability guideline or the notability guidelines for schools/colleges.

Regarding unsourced articles: We are volunteers and so we can only do so much. Articles don't just magically improve and there are many unsourced articles on Wikipedia, so it may be some time before an editor improves the page. If a volunteer decides that they will spend time to improve that page, they will. This does not give you a free card to get a draft published which does not have the sources needed.

Furthermore, the sources you have used don't establish notability. Sources which establish notability, talk about the topic/subject in a significant way. They must also be independent and reliable. The sources you have used don't establish notability because:

• The first source (the college's website) is not independent
• The second source does not talk about the college in a significant way, as it only lists basic information about the college
• The third, fourth and fifth sources do not cover the college in a significant way, as they all are lists of colleges in the Ludhiana area.

This means you have no sources which demonstrate notability. For this (and any) draft to be published it must have received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject and that these sources be included in the draft to support the information you have written. JJMC89, Dreamy Jazz, While your connection to webchat is protected with SSL, webchat doesn't connect to the server with SSL unfortunately. My advice is to use either a real IRC client (I use HexChat) or IRC Cloud (which is like webchat but actually connects via SSL). stwalkerster (talk) 06:59, 7 June 2019 (UTC)

I'm guessing you hit AntiSpoof some. Each creation attempt counts toward the limit. I've reviewed all the non-purged requests that you've handled, and they look good. I am granting accountcreator due to the lower rate limit with the expectation that you will continue take it slow for a bit since you're still new to ACC.
